Working with All Renovations on my kitchen remodel has been an excruciating experience and one that I would not wish on my worst enemy. Do not hire them to work on your project unless you have the time and energy to act as your own project manager, defeating the purpose of hiring a contractor, and have extra cash set aside to deal with price hikes and correcting costly mistakes.

On the plus side, I will say that everyone at All Renovations (Omar, Mir, Thomas, Mel) has been very pleasant and helpful when you can get a hold of them, but the problem is that they are frequently uncommunicative and are not adept at solving problems.

First, let me address the timeline of my project. I was assured that my small kitchen was a “two week job.” From the time that I received permission from the condo association until completion, 15 months have elapsed.

Getting permission from the condo association took a significant period of time (although All Renovations encouraged me to do the work without having it approved first). The condo association required me to get a new estimate. After asking to have an additional, 5ft., non-load bearing wall removed, All Renovations’ estimate increased by 54%. I would have lost my deposit if I had chosen not to accept the new terms. In retrospect, I wish I had written off the loss and chosen a new contractor.

I had a very difficult time getting All Renovations to work on this project in a timely manner and had to text/e-mail/call regularly to get them to do any work. I got the impression that they were doing too many other jobs to care about mine. At various points in this project, more than three months elapsed with no contact or update from All Renovations (and four months between instances of work being done). I didn’t have a kitchen sink and running water for more than three months and decided to simply pay extra for the counter top installers to bring a plumber, because I knew that if I waited for All Renovations to take care of the plumbing, I could be left without running water for another three months.

During the course of the project, we ran into several problems. First, we could not use the cabinets that I’d already purchased and the guys were incredibly helpful in helping me return them. Then, a wall could not be totally removed because of utility pipes. All Renovations did not offer any creative solutions to this problem, leaving me to solve it with the help of an architect friend. This was yet another example of me needing to be my own project manager, rather than being able to rely on the one that I was paying to handle the renovation.

Regularly, work would be done without any advance warning (a surprise when they only show up every few weeks or months). For example, I had no warning when they did final demolition on my existing kitchen. I had a few dirty dishes in the sink that I ultimately had to take to a friends’ house to wash. Recently, they showed up again while I had house guests, who were really upset that a stranger had been in the house.

Finally, I would not put faith in All Renovations’ attention to detail. For example, because of a miscommunication between All Renovations and their designer, I ended up with a sink that was not centered, but on the extreme left of the sink “cut out” in the upper cabinets. This mistake forced me to spend an extra $1,000 on new upper cabinets. More recently, I was told that the work was completed, despite the fact that there was a hole in the ceiling from where a light fixture was moved; outlet covers were not reinstalled after some additional electrical work was completed; my range still isn’t properly installed; and the crown molding has nail holes where no filler was used. This has been a constant theme of the entire renovation: the team at All Renovations has relied on me, someone with a full time job and no construction experience, to make punch lists and manage the project.

I hope that this review helps other people avoid the mistake that I made by hiring All Renovations.

We first hired All Renovations to do our master bath last summer; they did such an exceptional job that we hired them again to to our main bathroom. We could not be more pleased with the results....the bathroom looks fantastic and our guests rave about them. Omar and his crews are always great, and they happy to answer any questions we had along the way. All in all, the entire process, from estimate to finished bathrooms, went very smoothly. We highly recommend All Renovations, and plan on using them for future renovation needs.

All Renovation was selected with not much knowledge about the company or workmanship. We wanted a 20x22 foot addition added to our house with a 10x22 foot screened in porch. We are completely satisfied with the quality and workmanship of All Renovations. Material was of high quality and the construction staff was very skilled. Would highly recommend All Renovations for your project!

I had a major basement remodel. All Renovations did an outstanding job on an older home that proved somewhat challenging at times. Adrian is a treasure and worked miracles on many things and his attention to detail really brought the project together. A complaint (which I was able to work around) is that I was not given a schedule for ordering items and often had to run out to purchase more paint or hardware that was needed. A detailed list and schedule of most items needed at the beginning would have been very helpful. Although the project came in over my original budget, I am very pleased with the final outcome. Many unforeseen items were not visible until the demo took place. The fireplace stone turned out even better than I had envisioned and the downstairs now has a completely new look. The project took somewhat longer than originally expected but Adrian's effort and professionalism were certainly worth it in the end.

All Renovations finished our basement adding approximately 1200 square ft to include a den and bathroom. Omar provided great suggestions on how to finish our basement based to incorporate our desire to keep a portion of the basement unfinished for storage. The scope of work was very detailed which provided clarity for such a big project.

The foreman Ainea and his team did a great job finishing the project. The estimated time of completion was 6-10 weeks and they would have had the job finished right at 6 weeks (if not for a carpeting snafu that was not their fault). Once the carpet was delivered, they promptly came back to install and complete all finishing items. Communication was great. I enjoyed working with the entire team and will use their services for any future projects. I highly recommend Ainea and All Renovations!

All Renovations came highly recommended from our residential community Facebook page. The contract review was pretty straightforward and the progress payments were timely throughout the entire process. The contract references construction grade materials, so just work with Omar on any upgrades. For example, we upgraded from standard siding to Hardie siding, and preferred the wide baseboards, molding and trim. Jim (project manager) and Tony (foreman) did a great job keeping us apprised of next steps and inspection statuses given the number of other projects he and the team had going on at the same time. The crew was punctual working extremely hard Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The crew did a good job keeping our property clean and safe from debris and equipment. At one point during the process, the crew experienced rain during the concrete phase and to our surprise they built a temporary roof and one person worked well into the night to finish off the smoothing and drying. We really appreciated that dedication and attention to detail. When the electricity and lighting were being installed, I was asked where Id like the light switches so I directed one switch be installed on one of the entrance. Tony and the crew went above and beyond and installed two sets of light switches on both sides of the pool house french door entrances for convenience. I liked how they were extremely thoughtful and paid attention to details as if they were building their own project. Electricity and exterior components were all up to code.

We hired All Renovations to redo our master bathroom and are extremely pleased with the finished product. This was a modest renovation and we appreciated that no one tried to sell us anything more than what we were looking for. The process from getting the estimate to the finish was smooth and uncomplicated. Rocky and his crew were pleasant, respectful, and carefully cleaned up after themselves each day. Rocky and Omar were both readily available by phone, text or e-mail when we had questions. The work was done in a timely manner. We would definitely consider using All Renovations again in the future.

I had a very good experience with All Renovations. My first interaction with the company was with Mir the Estimator on the phone. He was friendly, professional and answered all questions. On the day of my appointment to discuss the project in person. He was on time and explained the process for the project. My next interaction was with Jim the Project Manager, he too was professional, friendly, and answered all my questions. Their communication was excellent. Each step of the permitting process was explained to me. When the project started, I met Tony, the on-site Project Manager. He and the construction crew were professional, courteous, and reported to the work site on time. The project was done timely. Any issues that I had were addressed immediately. My family and I are very please with the project completion. I would use this company again for a future project.

We had All Renovations add a garage to the side of our house and it was an overall great experience! The new garage required moving utility lines, sump pump pipe, cables, re-routing vents and extending back into some space in our yard. We also had new gutters installed all around the house and the garage itself was fully insulated with an extra space in the back for a gym area. We had never done a big extension like this and the team provided great support, info and managed a complex project with ease. Mir provided great support with estimates and addresses all our questions and change requests with patience and friendliness, Jim provided prompt updates on the timeline and always kept us looped into the next step, while Tony led the work on site with efficiency and was always willing to show us what he was doing and ask questions as needed to ensure things were done right. While it took several months to get things done in the right order (permit approvals, inspections at different stages, coordination with the power company and waiting for things to come in), we never felt frustrated because we knew what was in motion at any given time. We love the new space and can’t wait to use it!

Renovations did a fantastic job on my project.  They completely demo'd an old bathroom and put it back with a very nice update.  They were prompt and efficient.  They understood my budget limitations and worked hard to stay within them.  The crew was on time each day and worked very carefully.  They did the whole job from start to finish in just less than two weeks.  They were easy to deal with and even were able to make a few mid-project changes at my request with little added cost.  Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and the outcome.  I would use them again and certainly recommend them.

I recently hired All Renovations to complete a whole basement renovation (demolition, all new electrical and framing; adding a wet bar, laundry space, and full bathroom). Omar, Jim, Tony, and the rest of the team were professional and responsive at every stage of the process. They answered all of my questions in a timely manner and addressed any concerns that came up throughout the project with flexibility and a commitment to high quality work. Having received multiple project quotes from different companies, All Renovations provided a competitive price point and stayed within my budget. I am very happy with their work and highly recommend them for your large-scale project.

All Renovations provided a basement “refresh” and installed a bathroom. The absolute stars of this reno were Luis and Carlos. They showed up on time, were considerate of our property and were open to all questions we had regarding this reno. Luis was present for all other trades making sure they new what was to be done..
Carlos is a machine..hardworking and nothing was too hard..We loved working with him!
We were told the Reno would take two possibly three weeks..it took a little longer but the result was exactly what we were hoping for.

Omar, Ainea and the whole team did a great job on our basement renovation project. They were professional and pleasant and stayed on budget. I would recommend All Renovations to anyone and look forward to hiring them for future projects.

We are thrilled with the home office/guest room that All Renovations just completed for us. They were the lowest of 3 quotes that we got and I know cheapest isn't always best, but they had just done the same project elsewhere in our neighborhood and were recommended. Once the permit was finally done they got started within the week and we're amazed at how quick it came together. The crew showed up when we were expecting them, were really pleasant, and always put in full days. The existing garage roof demo and plywood frame/new roof were done in 4 days! Estimator Omar, project manager Jim, and crew chief Tony were all great to work with, very responsive, and were able to address all of our questions and any minor issues that needed to be addressed. Start-to-finish it took 4 weeks and we can't wait to get furniture in and start using our new space!

Had two condo bathrooms redone by All Renovations. Omar and crew were very quick/responsive to all our questions in the lead-up and during the project. Adrian did the actual renovation as a one-man crew and did an amazing job. High quality work and very pleasant to deal with. If we were to do it again, we would have built in more wiggle room in our budget for add-on expenses which came up during the project - either unforeseen or based on our requests.

All Renovations recently completed a project finishing our basement. We could not be happier with the outcome and working relationship across every individual we encountered in this company. If you're looking for contractors in the DMV, We'd highly recommend Tony and his team. They were timely, hard-working, skilled craft persons, and kept us constantly informed on our project. They stayed within our agreed budget with no surprise charges. Mir was very patient with us during the quote process. We can't speak highly enough regarding their professionalism and knowledge. We will definitely use them again on future home projects.

"I would give All Renovations six stars if I could. They were fantastic at building my four season sunroom over a screened in patio. My plan was to interview and get estimates from three contractors. All Renovations was one of those three after I read about them in the "Best Picks Report for Loudoun County". All Renovations had the most experience and I felt more comfortable with Mir (the estimator) than the others. I was also happily surprised to have All Renovations come in with the lowest estimate. I could not be happier with the outcome of this difficult project. I have to admit that I did not think it was possible to tie this addition into my existing house without it looking like an addition but they did it! And a shout out to Jim and Tony... you two are superstars!"

All Renovations did a terrific job on our basement renovation. The result was so much better than what we envisioned going into the project, and that is due to the quality of the AR team's work and their flexibility in making adjustments through the process to make it all come together in a beautiful, livable space that we enjoy spending time in.

Omar was the most responsive vendor we worked with when we were seeking quotes for this renovation. He scheduled a walkthrough to discuss the project and outline his estimate, and then submitted a firm quote for the cost within days of first contact. He stuck to that quote and clearly communicated additional costs for our acceptance as we changed the scope of the project after demolition and during construction.

Edwin was a fantastic foreman for our project and was on site every day from start to finish, excepting days where he gave us advance notice that no work would be done or that a specific crew would be working on flooring or drywalling with him checking in during the day. He provided clear communication and afforded us opportunities to discuss any details or decisions he was making before the work was done to ensure we would be happy with the outcome.

Overall, we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Our one note if we were to do this kind of project again is to think through everything and have a clear vision for exactly what you want the finished space to look like, including materials, paint colors and everything else. AR are excellent builders and they'll make whatever you ask them to do look great, but they are not designers. Omar tried to help us get there by encouraging us to work with his supplier to nail down our vision in advance. We didn't get there before Edwin's crew was ready to start demolition, and we didn't want to slow down the project so we jumped in and ended up making decisions on materials and design on the fly. Largely due to the advice and recommendations that Edwin gave us at each step, everything looks better than we expected going in, but we held up work a few times waiting for tile or other materials to be delivered. Not at all a knock on AR, but you need to be prepared and feed them the vision and materials before they start, because they work faster than you would expect!

All Renovations was great to work with, very competitive on price, and delivered high quality workmanship on the agreed upon schedule. We will be recommending them to our friends and neighbors that admire our beautiful new basement.

Omar worked with us to provide a very reasonable cost estimate for our full second floor renovation. Once we worked out the details of the project, we were assigned the best foreman we have ever worked with. Edwin was a a master carpenter with attention to detail and an extensive experience working on residential projects. Not only could he build you a whole house, his suggestions and recommendations on how to approach things were spot on every time. He worked hard everyday, was a very good communicator about the job, was very trustworthy to have in our home and brought in subcontractors that he oversaw and worked at his level. I would without a shadow of a doubt have Edwin work on any big or small project we will ever need at our home. Edwin actually cares about the quality of his work and your happiness.

I cannot recommend these clowns. Took nearly 7 months to complete a bathroom/ bedroom remodel. Omar wanted nearly 50% up front and thankfully I did not acquiesce to that request since work didn't start for 4 months. I basically ended up having to manage the job. No communication between subcontractors. Work had to be redone as one sub undid what the other had done. I have no faith in the electrical work performed, nor the HVAC. Pretty sure I have at least one live wire buried in a wall. One 20 amp breaker services 14/2 wire/ outlet and one 20 amp breaker was installed for the floor heating when a 15 amp is needed resulting in a fault in the T stat that took me several hours to diagnose. At least that breaker was changed out. When the counter top guy came to measure for install he pointed out the cabinets weren't square and helped me correct the situation. Do not hire.

I am giving All Renovations 5 stars for the basement renovation in large part because of Adrian’s excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our job was pretty extensive. It included moving support columns, demo and rebuild exterior stairway, adding a full bath, extending the finished/framed portion of the basement, moving the circuit-breaker panel, and re-doing our half-bath. The job took 6 months, which was about twice as long as we expected. Omar was always very responsive and provided good feedback. Adrian is very good at explaining things and soliciting your input when options/alternatives exist. He definitely does not take short-cuts if quality would suffer. He is also very considerate/careful inside your home and cleans-up after himself. Our $102k project ballooned to $125k, mostly due to nice to have add-ons and unforeseen issues. But there were several items I feel should have been caught at the contract onset. E.g. the need for a floor drain ($900), considering that we were getting rid of the utility sink basin. There was also an extra $4k to replace the drywall in the half bath since the existing paint was too textured (sponge) to paint over. But we were very pleased with the outcome and would definitely recommend All Renovations.
