Ben was very kind and efficient when performing the energy audit at our home! He made excellent recommendations and even went under the crawlspace and made recommendations to improve the efficiency in our home!

Just finished my home energy audit with Ben. Glad I had the time to walk with him as he used the FLIR camera and he explained what he was seeing. Learned a lot more about my house today, and look forward to the write up with suggested fixes.

We recently moved into an older home and unfortunately, we had several issues that needed to be addressed. After having several unreliable vendors enter my home for repairs, I was glad to find someone reputable. My technician was friendly and took the time to break down the process and explain everything in detail. I appreciate his thoroughness and his dedication to his craft. I am happy with their knowledge and their commitment to making my home more efficient. I will definitely look them up in the future if I need additional work done.

Milan just did a very thorough and comprehensive home energy audit for us. He explained things along the way and was extremely professional and encouraging.

Today's appointment with Ben E. went so well. I am in an end unit 2-bedroom condo, and a lot of cold comes in in winter. The assessment Ben provided made sense and was easy to follow. Assessment options offered to keep in mind budget and resale value. No sales pitch, very straight forward discussion.

Home Energy Medics did a terrific job in upgrading our home! We received a home energy audit from Matt C. and Ben E. -- they were very knowledgeable, thorough, and explained everything they were doing and their results. They made helpful recommendations, while also not pushing for upgrades that didn't make financial sense. We decided to have them insulate our attic, fix some poor ductwork on our heat pump, and Aeroseal our ducts, replace our bathroom exhaust fans and fix the ducting for them, along with a few other fixes to leaks and gaps in our attic and walls. We were out of town during the work, and they provided regular updates to keep us informed and in the loop. We are very pleased with the quality of the work -- we were warmer in the winter, and we're cooler in the summer. Thanks to Scott, Matt, Ben, and the whole team!

Had Home Energy Medics over for an energy audit. They were very helpful, responsive to our concerns and talked to us a lot along the way. Looking forward to their overall recommendations.

We received an detailed estimate from Home Energy Medics regarding various insulation issues with our home. Ultimately we declined to go with Home Energy Medics for three reasons. First, there prices seemed very high, which is something that we later validated by getting the work done less expensively by other contractors. Second, we did not like the high pressure sales pitch the company provided. And third, the company damaged our daughter's bedroom ceiling when they trooped around in our attic during their diagnosis. When confronted with photos of the damage caused by their estimator, they refused to pay for repairs.

I live on the first floor of a DC row house that has been converted into a two floor quadplex condo. We all have wood floors which created a "drum-like" effect when my upstairs neighbors walked around. During the pandemic, I felt like a fifth roommate because I could hear where they were at almost all times.

The sound installation has made a big difference. I no longer hear when me neighbors get out of bed in the middle of the night, when they dog walks around. and can hang out in my living room during the day. The sound that does get through is muffled and "distant".

This work is not cheap but it has definitely raised my quality of life and improved my prospects to rent/sell this property in the future. I was impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail shown by these guys as my ceilings appear almost exactly the same as they did before the work.

Home Energy Medics came out to help diagnose sweating ducts in the basement that caused our ceiling to cave in. Ben Eifler was the specialist who came out. He was timely, professional, and very knowledgeable about the system and issues. I sincerely appreciate how patient he was with me asking 1000 questions and needing explanations for almost everything considering my own limited knowledge of HVAC and duct work. Will definitely go with them for the resolutions he recommended as I felt he was sincere and honest about the problem and what needed to be done to remedy it. If we need a full audit after our renovation, we will specifically ask for Ben!

Home Energy Medics and Ben in particular were timely and communicative and knowledgeable. We arranged a time for the audit and he was on time and evaluated the house and asked questions about our goals while explaining anything he was noticing or considering in an accessible way. The follow up appointment was extremely informative with a well laid out explanation of the different elements of our home and an action plan to address the issues. They were very flexible as we mixed and matched what we wanted to do and understood when we wanted to break it into phases. Excited to get the first phase executed this summer and bring some bills down asap!

Do not assume that the high prices mean that the follow through and the attention to detail is there. Do not assume that your emails to them will be circulated to the correct person. Do not assume that if Matt Cowan tells you that he will follow up and get back to you that anyone ever gets back to you. Do not assume that if this company makes a mistake, an error that they admit to doing, that they will fix their mistake. The sales pitch doesn't match the follow through.

Ben E. did an energy audit and was awesome. He arrived on time and did a thorough inspection. He let me know how energy audit was going along the way. Great service and you get your audit fee back if you do any of the recommended services.

This is my third time using Home Energy Medics (HEM). We moved to a new home that was just outside HEM’s service area, and while I called other companies that do service our area, I just wasn’t satisfied (probably because I’ve been spoiled by HEM in the past since it’s a great company, resulting in my high expectations in what I expect and look for from other insulation companies). When calling other companies, they were not as comprehensive as HEM, and wouldn’t do drywall repair if they needed to get into poorly insulated spaces, wouldn’t do painting, wouldn’t address roof issues, wouldn’t fix leaks, etc. I’d have to coordinate that all on my own. So I reached out to Scott, and his operations manager Vicki, to see, if as a repeat customer, they could help me out after a brutally cold winter. To my surprise they remembered me after several years had gone by. Despite being outside their service area, Scott and Vicki were more than willing to help. Once again, I’m satisfied and impressed with HEM’s work. I don’t know of another all-in-one, does-it-all company. Scott has high standards and has a hand-picked team of responsive professionals and sub-contractors that he trusts and knows by name since he has been working with them for years. His team is a reflection of him and they operate by the same standards. We had a large and sophisticated project with many moving pieces to fix our home to bring it up to modern insulation standards and code. After Vicki quickly arranged all the customer intake paperwork, Brian performed our energy audit and he was very thorough, investigating every nook and cranny, and gave us a detailed run down of all our issues. Matt was our project lead who gave us a project schedule and kept us updated throughout our insulation renovation. Matt juggled many things—including driving the distance to our home a few times—and kept our project moving despite weather and other unforeseen delays that was out of HEM’s control with minimal disruption to my family. Their roofer, Osvaldo, was amazing and worked tirelessly from sun up to sun down to fix our roof leaks and our rotten dormers. Their other sub-contractors were all very courteous and cleaned up daily. All were very responsive to my nit noid questions throughout. At the end, they made sure everything was done properly, and HEM even had crews come back to address missed things we found because they wanted to ensure things were done right and that I was 100% satisfied. Benjamin did our final inspection and test out and he was very courteous, ensuring that I was completely satisfied before concluding my project. He also shared with me his findings of a drastic improvement in insulation performance. Now that summer is upon us, my home already feels cooler given our insulation improvements and reductions in air leaks. Despite the high cost of our project, HEM’s process, thoroughness, and customer service gives me peace of mind. HEM continues to raise the bar when it comes to all-encompassing insulation renovations and customer service. It’s especially great that they will handle the rebate paperwork with our power company and handle the Pearl certification process. I look forward to winter to see how my house performs and staying nice and warm, and to any other projects that I’ll need HEM’s help with. I’m glad I chose HEM again.

***Update***

It’s been about 6 months since we completed our HEM project. With winter upon us, my house is a lot more comfortable and warmer compared to last winter, and our energy bill has also slightly decreased. It’s such a welcome relief, too, after enduring a cold house last year. HEM did a great job!

HEM came out to do an audit and estimate for a unique insulation and repair job in our new house. Ben, the tech who came out, was great — he was knowledgeable and explained things clearly. Very happy with their service visit.

The team provided a thorough analysis of our house, and was very professional throughout when we did the full home audit. However, they did not inform me that the work would not be able to be done until February, when I am trying to better winterize our place, when I paid the $595 for the audit that I had hoped to apply towards the project. While it was a very thorough analysis, I have been disappointed in the process that followed.
