Reviews of local pros in Chantilly, Virginia

After contacting numerous landscaping/hardscaping/drainage companies I found Northern Virginia Grounds. Thank goodness! Tony and his workers were able to handle all of our concerns! Our initial request/concerns were regarding drainage issues and a new walk in our front yard. The job was going well so we immediately signed Tony on to address the drainage issues in our backyard. Along with adding/routing drainage to the appropriate areas we replaced a huge cement pad under our raised deck (which was a complete eyesore) and a crumbling brick retaining wall/brick facade to the cement pad, which was deteriorating as well. All the (failing and very old) hardscaping played into the drainage issues and we knew it needed to be addressed. Everything was looking great. We couldn't stop there, so we went back up to the front yard and redid the old brick stoop as well as removed old railroad ties and replaced those with stacked stone. Everything looks AMAZING!! We've had a few neighbors comment on the changes out front and how great it looks. Tony was always available during my project. He stopped by everyday to check the status of the job. And he didn't run off. He stayed and talked, explaining next steps, answering my questions, suggesting other options. I was always able to reach him with any concerns or questions. I really appreciated him calling after we had finished a drainage job and he saw rain. He wanted to know how the fix was working, to take photos, and a video so he could see. I really appreciated that concern and reaching out to me to suggest that!! I would definitely recommend Northern Virginia Grounds! In fact, if I get my way he'll be back to work on some overgrown beds.

We hired Tony to replace our lawn, which was a mess due to the underlying soil containing rocks and construction debris. He knew that a beautiful lawn would require a lot of effort to remove the debris, add new topsoil, and install the sod. Tony's guys worked in the sweltering heat of Summer to literally leave no stone unturned...unfortunately, the heatwave and lack of rain worked against us, and the grass initially wasn't doing well. Tony proactively communicated with us, and worked to make sure we got green grass in the end ("like a golf course", as he says.

Northern VA Grounds also put a bunch of new shrubs and relocated existing bushes to the side of the house - they look great and add a nice splash of color. installed a stone retaining wall that matched our existing patio perfectly, with some nice flowers and plants in the back. When some of the flowers died due to the heat, Tony replaced them without hesitation. While our job had some complicating factors, I definitely recommend Tony if you want someone who will stay the course and not rest until you're satisfied.

Needed somebody to plow/shovel my icy driveway and they came through, within an hour of me calling. Job was done extremely well, and they were a pleasure to interact with.

If you’re looking somebody to get a job done promptly and thoroughly, I would recommend them 10 out of 10.

Needed 6" snow/ice removed from my 2 car driveway built up after the big snow as well as the path sround the side leading to the fromt door. I called in the sfternoon and they came that very same evening, clearing the ice and snow and leaving the driveway and the path completely free of snow within an hour. An amazing job at an extremely fair price. Terrific service from the initial call until the snow removal crew left. I highly recommend Nova Landscape Construction. Based on the service I received, i'm sure all of their service offerings are excellent.

Great experience. They came out the same day and helped plow our driveway with ice present. The team was quick, communicative, and very easy to work with. We really appreciated the fast response and would definitely use them again.

Simply stated, Tony and his crew delivered an aesthetic masterpiece combined with an abundance of professionalism! A worthwhile investment! Their phenomenal attention to detail is unmatched; not only did the outcome exceed expectations, “The Oasis” complements the decorative allure of the home masterfully and invigorates the property as a whole. The experience was a 6 on a 5-Star scale! If you have a vision, NOVA-LC has what it takes to usher the concept to reality, and if you need help conceptualizing, they can/will patiently and strategically get you to the finish line.

I used NOVA Landscape Construction for a new patio install with a fire pit and hot tub. It wasn't a simple job because my property has quite a bit of grade and we also needed to dedicate a space to the jacuzzi (and all of its electrical work). I had two other estimates, while slightly cheaper, that didn't have plans for a concrete pad under the jacuzzi and didn't include retaining walls and lights. Tony also used quality materials that were thicker and higher-end than what the other guys were using. I realized quickly this was not as simple as slapping down some Home Depot pavers. I am so glad I went with Tony because that could have been a real nightmare as the ground settled with the grade we have and a heavy jacuzzi sitting on it. Tony also had a designer draw up the plan so I could see exactly what I'd be getting. We changed it a couple of times so it was really helpful to see it in 3D from different angles.

Most importantly, I can't say enough great things about Tony's guys. We had the same two guys who showed up each day at 7:30am and worked the whole day in nearly 100 degree weather. I have had other contractors for other projects not show up on some days (I guess to squeeze in some smaller jobs) or take 2+ hour lunches where I didn't know if they were coming back. These guys got the job done quickly while paying meticulous attention to detail. They spent quite a bit of time cleaning up after themselves and hosing everything off. We had a couple of issues come up due to the formation of my deck and grading of the property and they made sure before they did anything they spoke with me about what I wanted which I really appreciated.

It was a pleasure to work with Tony as he was always responsive to every question I asked. He came over multiple times to check on the project so I never got the feeling that he just took the money and ran while some guys I had never met or spoke to did all the work. Unfortunately, that is how a lot of these businesses work so that is why I wanted to take the time to write this review and give credit where credit is due. Tony is on top of everything, hires the right guys and treats them right, doesn't cut corners and uses quality products, and knows his stuff and is super responsive. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Northern Virginia Grounds. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and very detail oriented, so there was a very high threshold, but Tony and his team did a fantastic job on our hardscape project and far exceeded my expectations.

After much research and reading many reviews, I had 5 or 6 companies come out to discuss the project and get estimates. When I met Tony, he took the time to listen to all my thoughts and concerns, and he offered to bring me samples of different materials even before I agreed to go with his company. Tony did a great job with encouraging me to go with his company without being pushy. The estimate Tony gave me was fair, and after considering all of my options, I decided to go with him.

Tony has been excellent with communication, and would respond to me almost immediately if I had any questions. He met with me multiple times before starting the project, he brought out samples, and he invited me to see other projects that he had completed or was still in the process of completing.

I was originally only planning on replacing my front walkway, but I decided to trust Tony to fix up my entire back yard as well. I had a huge project because in addition to replacing all of my bricks with pavers, Tony said he could help with the drainage problem I had in my yard each time it rained. I would frequently have a small river flowing down my walkways and in the lower grassy parts of my yard. Tony’s team put in a French drain to help the water exit our yard underground. They also attached underground pipes to our downspouts so the water wouldn’t flow over our pavers. Tony used high-quality Techo-Bloc pavers so that the color would last, and he kept me in the loop each step of the way. I appreciated his crew’s attention to detail to make sure everything was done just right. Some people will cut corners, but not Tony’s team. They are very skilled, and did a quality job. They worked very hard each day (including some weekends), and they were always pleasant.

Tony was at our house almost every day to ensure that everything was being done to his high standards, and he came out in the rain to make sure that the drainage pipes were working. That is truly going above and beyond.

I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable, and reliable person to help with your hardscaping/landscaping needs, you won’t go wrong with Tony and Northern Virginia Grounds.

We selected NOVA Landscape and Construction for our pool's decking and retaining wall needs based on NOVA's great reputation and we were not disappointed.

First Tony worked with us on planning the project and we went through numerous revisions and each time with valuable feedback from Tony that proactively addressed many concerns.

Then during the construction phase Tony kept us up to date on progress and was always consistent and timely on the work being accomplished. We never ran into a situation where Tony's team disappeared for days or weeks to work on other projects we felt like we were a priority from start to finish.

We highly recommend NOVA Landscape for anyone who needs their services and we will certainly be looking back to Tony for our future phases.

The day after this past snow/ice storm, after my snowplow failed on me, I called every company in town that could dig me out with no success until I reached NoVa landscape construction. They were able to come to my house in two hours with the plow on truck and cleared my driveway in minutes!
Everyone I came across from on the phone to in-person was very professional and prompt. Really appreciate their quick response!

We had a fantastic experience with NOVA Grounds!! Tony was great to work with and we loved that he was ON SITE for the job. It was awesome that he didn't just leave the work to his crew and come back when it was finished. He was very hands on, and it made for a phenominal finished product. The plants he brought were healthy and beautiful, and the walkway materials and construction were clean and professional. Highly recommend!!

Let me caveat my review with the fact that I am a local realtor. I deal with a lot of contractors, and refer out a lot of contractors to clients. Tony at NoVA Landscape Construction Is at the very top of that list. Our family spent the better part of a year working with his crew to transform our yard and pool area. At the end of that time, I can still say I’m thrilled that we went with Tony and his crew for this renovation. Not only because of the outcome of our space, but because of the communication that we received consistently through our work, and with the caliber of work I saw happen in my backyard!

Tony and his crew transformed our back yard pool area into a retreat. Our pool is about 40 years old. I don’t believe it had ever been resurfaced. We started there with Tony and his crew and as we talked about our vision for up there our design options grew. We opted to reconfigure the entire space around the pool, and Tony Was able to take our vision and make it happen! He was receptive to all of our requests, even the ones that were a little more difficult for him to fulfill like a very specific color of a crêpe myrtle tree for the landscaping, with a can-do attitude!
We now have a wood-burning fireplace, we ran a gas line to heat the pool and put in gas heaters for the pavilion area, added a fridge a grill, garbage and recycle bins , and a cooler box to easily access drinks. The space is truly an oasis for our family now. We do a lot of entertaining and everyone who has stopped by has been so impressed with the space.
We are beyond thrilled with the results and would highly recommend Tony and his team for any home improvement project you are considering!

NOVA Landscape Construction turned our backyard patio into a lovely backyard living room. We use it all the time and are very happy with the way it turned out.

I contacted NOVA Landscape Construction to shovel out my grandmother's mailbox, walkway, and the remaining portion of her driveway. The guys were timely, kind, and did a fantastic job!

After talking and meeting with six companies, we chose to go with NOVA LC and what a pleasant experience it was. Everyone we interacted from this company has been such a pleasure we miss seeing them now that our project is complete on time.

Design-
Our design excellently blends into our overall property and it really elevates our smallish yard. For our requests to revise or samples of material, Tony worked hard to ensure we had many options that would work with our vision. During certain points we just followed Tony’s advice.

Execution-
A great design needs to be executed by the right workers and NOVA LC certainly does have amazing workers. The workers carried out the design better than the design on paper. We had a specific diagonal pattern on our patio and the workers laid out the pieces multiple times to ensure the design was right. Tony also visited the worksite daily, sometimes multiple times in a day to ensure progress. When things was rescheduled, Tony or his project manager kept us posted on when things will happen. The workers are always courteous and kept the job site pretty organized and clean; they minimized the impact on us living there.

Price-
NOVA LC is definitely a great value. If you are looking for the lowest price then this company is not for you. If you are looking for something that lasts a long time and stays high quality then definitely give them a call.

Overall-
NOVA LC works very hard to make sure customers are completely satisfied with the outcome. We LOVED them and want to recommend to all our friends.

Our backyard that was in desperate need of repairs: previous owners put down indoor tiles on our patio, the retaining walls were slowly falling down, and the tiles on the pool were coming off …

We weren’t sure what we wanted so we consulted with a few construction companies that had some nice successful backyard projects shown on their websites. Most of the companies were unresponsive or initially responsive but didn’t follow up in a timely manner and we got discouraged and almost gave up.

Luckily, we reached out to NOVA Landscape Construction and they were enthusiastic, not afraid to suggest drastic changes, and responsive without being pushy. Tony and Brittany at NOVA LC came over to chat and understand what we were looking for, and we worked with them and their team to come up with a vision and plan for our backyard: Once we had the vision and plan they priced things out. We were a bit nervous about spending so much money but they worked with us and we decided to go for it.

NOVA LC immediately started demolishing our backyard and boy was that scary (and often a bit muddy especially with our dog running around out there). We were worried that NOVA LC would disappear at this point because we’d heard stories of construction companies doing that, but Tony and his team were around most days making progress where they could, preparing things for the moment any of the permits were approved. As soon as a permit was approved, they were off like a shot pouring concrete, laying the tiles we picked out, and making our vision take shape.

The project was a bit complex with lots of moving parts including a lower patio, an upper patio, a firepit, resurfacing the pool, adding a hot tub, adding an outdoor kitchen, landscaping, and outdoor media installation. Some of the details were modified as vision met reality, but Tony worked to make sure we were happy and was responsive to any of our concerns. The team was respectful of our yard and neighbors, keeping things relatively clean and organized, and they were also great with our dog, who spent a lot of time supervising (and trying to steal their lunches).

The final product turned out to be amazing as you can see from the pictures, especially in contrast to the initial state of our yard.
Tony and his team worked to assure that every detail was to our satisfaction, and we are delighted with the results. NOVA Landscape Construction did a stellar job.

We reached out to Nova Landscape Construction on very short notice after a heavy snowfall, and they responded immediately. Our parking lot was covered in thick ice and heavy snow and their team arrived fully prepared with new equipment and bobcats that handled the job efficiently and safely. They broke through the solid ice, cleared the snow thoroughly, and made sure the entire lot was clean and accessible.
What stood out most was their professionalism, the crew was experienced and worked seamlessly together to get the job done right. They did not cut corners and ensured the property was treated with care. Because of their hard work we were able to open for business the following day without any disruption. I truly appreciate their reliability and would confidently recommend Nova Landscape Construction to any business looking for dependable service when timing is critical

After getting several estimates from different companies, we decided to go with Nova LC. What set them apart was their knowledge of working with degraded land, which was exactly what we needed for our backyard pool installation. Other companies didn't seem as experienced in handling our specific situation, but Nova LC understood the challenges right from the start.

Our project was huge—completely transforming our backyard with a pool, deck, and landscaping—and it took about 9 months from beginning to end. I had a lot of ideas about the design, and Tony, the owner, was incredibly patient and attentive. He didn’t just nod along; he gave thoughtful feedback and offered professional suggestions to improve my vision. It felt like a true collaboration, which I really appreciated.

As with any big project, there were a few bumps along the way. However, whenever something came up, Tony and his crew worked quickly to come up with multiple solutions. They didn’t just push us toward one fix; they gave us options and explained the pros and cons of each, which made the decision-making process easier and less stressful.

Installing a pool and deck is a major undertaking, but Nova LC made it as seamless as possible. Their attention to detail, communication, and ability to adapt to any issue really stood out. If you’re looking for a company that delivers high-quality work and uses high quality material and truly cares about the end result.

NOVA Landscape Construction did a great job plowing my parking lot, parking space which contained a huge block snow/ice. Brittany provided me with excellent customer service. She spent time with me on the phone listening to what I needed, and set up an appointment with Tony right away. I was so grateful for their kindness and wonderful customer service. After the job, Tony even checked in with me to ask if it was done to my satisfaction. If you want exceptional customer service from a company who cares and does great work...Call them!

We recently completed a major backyard remodel with NOVA Landscape Construction, and the results are absolutely incredible! They completely transformed our outdoor space into a true oasis. The team remodeled our pool, built a massive custom waterslide, and constructed a stunning cabana complete with a firepit and beautiful finishes.

From start to finish, the NOVA team was professional, creative, and detail-oriented. They took our vision and turned it into something even better than we imagined. Every part of the project was handled with excellence and care.

If you’re looking for a company that can completely transform your backyard and deliver top-quality work, we highly recommend NOVA Landscape Construction. Our family couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!

HVAC repair tech told me a gas valve for my furnace was not available and I had to replace the whole thing. Had a competing HVAC company replace the gas valve with a manufacture certified part. Do not trust their repair services.
