I recently had DW Coble out to my property to examine a red cedar located in our backyard. He was very responsive, professional and prompt prior and post our appointment. He is very knowledgeable and courteous. I would highly recommend working with DW he was fantastic to deal with!

Great service! Bobby came by to look at my 3 year old Meyer Lemon tree that was having some issues. He came and pointed out the problem in like 5 minutes. Root rot, which I was happy to hear it wasn’t something worse. Very professional and polite. Great price too. I would highly recommend them.

We just had Bartlett come out to our home to trim and shape all the trees and shrubs in our yard, many of which were very overgrown in the Red Mill Farm neighborhood in VA Beach. They were on time 1st thing in the morning as promised and walked the yard with me before starting to ensure we were on the same page in regards to exactly the way we wanted everything done and what was on the qoute itself. There were 3 techs all very professionally outfitted in regards to their gear, tools, etc. They divided up the work between them since some things like our knockout roses had to be hand trimmed and communicated with me throughout the process to ensure that we were satisfied with their methods and results. The tech Marissa who worked on our numerous rose bushes and hydrangeas (11 total) of all shapes and sizes literally hand trimmed each piece on her hands and knees in a slow precise manner to allow for an aesthetic and healthy result. Once they were done everything was shredded and removed from the yard as if they had never been there. The last company we had out to do our tree and shrub trimming, while very professional and pleasant, used a hedge trimmer to cut everything back and had little to no knowledge about trimming crepe myrtles or roses properly, so everything was basically just hacked off. We were very pleased with every aspect of the work the Bartlett techs performed and the company itself. All their techs are certified arborists and have a full understanding of the correct method for trimming and pruning all species of plants, trees, and shrubs. Yes they were quite a bit more expensive that your standard landscape company but as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for". We would absolutely hire them again and have already made several referrals. Thanks guys!!

Bobby Nance is one of the best. If this young isn’t caring for your trees he should be. He is the youngest board certified Master Arborist in the world. I asked him he was so professional, positive attitude and gave me suggestions on trees. He came out and let me know my tree was dead where others kept spraying.and taking money.

We have used Bartlett for 2 years now and couldn't be happier. We lost one tree but we were able to save another one just like it. We are getting another treatment this weak to save our favorite tree. I love how they explain and show us everything that is going on and we're pleased to see the progress that's going on. DW did a very nice job removing some mistletoe from my maple tree. He was very efficient and knowledgeable. Also Bobby Nance is the most knowledgeable tree experts you will ever meet . I would highly recommend Bartlett Tree Service to anyone who has some tree concerns. They are the best at what they do!

I first began using Bartlett services a couple of years ago. I have a long stand of beautiful Arborvitae which at the time were not looking very beautiful! In fact, they looked quite sickly and I was quite worried that I would lose them. DW Coble came out and spent a good deal of time assessing the state of these trees. DW suggested a treatment plan which included periodic application of a formula specific to the problem these trees had. Fast forward to present time and the Arborvitae look wonderful!
In the meantime an Edgeworthia chrysantha (Paperbush) in front of my home began to fail quite dramatically and once again, DW figured out what the issue was and how we could treat it. And it too, is now looking great.
DW has a wealth of knowledge of plant science and botany; I always look forward to his appointments because he's a delightful individual and its always a pleasure to chat with him.

I’ve never seen a crew so proficient, efficient, and well trained. They did a fantastic job on our trees today and cleaned up after themselves in a professional manner. I would highly recommend Bartlett Tree Experts for any tree need.

We have been using the services of Bartlett Tree Experts for at least 18 years (maybe longer). They are true professionals in every sense of the word; very methodical, very safety conscious, and surgical in their work, whether a pruning job or total tree removal. Bobby Nance is the go to guy for any questions you may have about the health of your trees and shrubs, and recommended programs for treating insect or disease damage, fertilizing, etc. He is a Master Certified Arborist and is well-known throughout South Hampton Roads for his expertise. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

So glad I stopped using this company. I am very happy with my new arborist and do not intend to ever use Bartlett again. I first used Bartlett Tree the fall of 2021. One of the managers came to my residence and stated that two of my trees needed nutrients. I agreed and the applied them within 2 weeks. I had also showed where a large branch had come down on my house from one of the two trees and stated how difficult it was for my to get an arborist to have it removed. The manager stated that would not be a problem with his company and since I was using them for my tree care that they would come out immediately if there was an issue like that. Fast forward to this Fall and I had a 8in diameter branch fall out of one tree into another directly over my house. This branch would of caused severe damage to my house if it fell from the tree holding it. I called their office 2 times leaving messages during business hours, never to receive a return call. After the third day of calling them, I finally got someone from their office to answer the phone. I explained the situation and the high possibility of damage to my house. The clerk told me that the earliest they would come to look at my tree was around 12 days later. Not to remove, but just to assess the tree. I explained that this is not a situation that I could wait and have the branch fall through the roof of my house and that I was told just last year that this would not be an issue. The clerk said that they would not send anyone earlier. I called again trying to get an earlier appointment and then they said the earlies would be 10 days later. I later called left a message canceling because I have already had the branch removed within two days from another company. Obviously, they didn’t get that message either because the manager came to my house today for a meeting that was cancelled over a week ago. I cannot recommend Bartlett Tree Experts as obviously they do not care about their customers. I say this because of the obvious lack of care, failure at returning calls, lack of organization and updating appointments.

Bobby Nance at Bartlett has been an excellent partner in helping us maintain a large, healthy oak tree in our yard. He's very responsive to questions, and stops by to check on our tree on his way to other customers and respond to questions from email. You can tell that he loves his work and cares about what he does.

Bartlett Tree Service is a phenomenal tree and plant care company. Their team is clearly all very educated in the care and feeding of trees and shrubs. I have been using for over a year with their ongoing maintenance program and my trees have never looked better.

And their crews are all very friendly and courteous.

I also used them to top a large tree I needed to get trimmed back and they did a great job with this as well. Kept the tree looking very natural, not like it simple had it’s too cut off.

Their passion for their work is clearly evident in all they do and I cannot recommend them any higher.

I’ve used several tree services over the years but, while much of the experience has been fine, Bartlett is the company that I can count on for anything more complex than just tree removal. Bobby Nance at Bartlett has proven excellent in taking on all types of tree (and landscaping) concerns. He’s brought my crepe myrtles back to life after a bark scale invasion, saved my gazebo from a huge stubborn tree, kept dangerous overhead branches cleared from, created an exceptional plan for saving an eroding bank, and made all of my landscaping healthier. All work that he and his team have completed has been done on time, on budget, and without leaving a trace of mess behind. I wouldn't consider calling anyone else!

Highly recommend Bartlett Tree Experts. A local nursery recommended them to me when I reached out because almost all of our bushes were diseased. They suggested I reach out to Bartlett to see if my flower bed could be saved. Best decision ever! Bartlett (Perry was our professional expert) has been amazing. They saved all of our plants this year saving me thousands of dollars. And he takes the time to explain what is happening, how I can prevent these diseases and educates us on pruning and health maintenance of our plants. Very thankful for this local company!
