Just recently I bought a new gas stove, got it connected but still had a gas leak. This was a day two days before Thanksgiving, and I had to call Sawyers. Joe's son came with a smile on his face to get me my range ready for Thanksgiving cooking. I'm truly amazed by this father/son relationship. I've seen "another father/son HVAC team on TV commercials" but with Sawyer's Heating & Air Conditioning you get the father or son or both showing up at your house with a smile and fixing the problem at a very very affordable rate. I don't know if you can say that about that "other" company. The truth is, Sawyer's don't have time making commercials because they are busy serving the needs of families in Virginia and North Carolina. They are BBB accredited too!! Call them for all your HVAC needs.

Great company ! joes super good down to earth guy who really cares to help you out and explain things to you so your not just in the dark i would definitely recommend him To anyone ! I'd also recommend not going to tidewater rs Andrew's I thought because they had tons of good reviews they must be good nope they will try to rip you off and send 3 guys to tell you the same thing and never explain anything as they go along (which I personally like to know whats going on) Im So glad I found this company thank you so much!

Joe and his family owned Sawyer Heating & Air Conditioning company is by far the best HVAC company in Hampton Roads. They are extremely efficient, prompt and professional with their work. They also charge very reasonably for great service, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Hampton Roads area. They get 5 stars from my wife and myself.

Fantastic service. Honest and fair. They have made several repairs for us since we bought our house in 2008 with a 1967 AC unit. They have always done a great job for us and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

We had appointments with other HVAC companies that didn’t show up . Called Sawyer and Joe called us right back and came over that afternoon to look at our HVAC . Right away we could tell he was the right one to deal with . He orderes our part and a couple days later our new HVAC was installed . Awesome service from a amazing company!

Called him on a Sunday morning because our heat went out. He was quick to respond and came out less than 2 hours later. Turns out there were two switches for our furnace and the one I checked wasn't active anymore. He walked in and found the other switch for the furnace, turned it on and it works.. He was quick, friendly and I would absolutely call him again if needed.

They have been great! Prompt, professional, knowledgeable and affordable. Have used them twice now (2 different A/Cs). Even agreed to invoice when I needed a bit more time to get my payment together. Highly recommend.

I had a problem with my thermostat on one of the coldest days in Chesapeake, they responded quickly, arrived promptly and had the problem solved with 10 minutes. Called E.L. Sawyer for a second opinion on replacing all of the duct work in the attic as well as a new drip pan for my air handler. They were very honest with the analysis of what I had and what needed to be done. Never once felt that they were trying to BS me. Not to mention they were considerably less then the other guys. When they came out to do the work they were very professional and knowledgeable of the work they preformed for me. When they were done they cleaned up everything, didn't leave any any trash or debris. I was very impressed and recommend them to anyone.

The work they did was replacing the old 1980's era duct work. The new duct work is bigger and better and the air flow in my house has increased so much, I no longer have to close the vents in rooms that are vacant. Everything looks professional as well.

Really awesome guys. Others told me it would be a week or more to get AC help when my condenser blew up. They sent someone out within a day, had figured out what was wrong in minutes, ordered, delivered, and installed a new condenser in hours and charged a totally reasonable amount for it. While they were here the patron of the family came out to help, and they also helped my neighbor out with a simple repair. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Do not go with company. My bad feeling about the Service Tech that repaired my AC turned to be right. The first thing he said was he never worked on a Lennox Unit before but they are all the same. After cleaning the coils, service Tech stated that the Freon Level was low without reading the pressure guidance provided by the manufacture on the back of the panel. He added 5 lb of Freon and over charged the system. He did not take his time reading the pressure. As a result, the high pressure switch would trip every few days. After spending 300 plus dollars, I had to call another company. They stated the system was overcharged because the inlet/outlet temperature reading was way off as well as the pressure when compared to the manufacture guidance. They discharged some of the Freon back to Manufacturer’s recommendation, right away, the compressor sounded better. The system is now operating with no problem for a week now.

Update: Manager Mr. Lawson has reached out to me in a very professional and prompt manner and has agreed to refund the Freon charges. He has offered a seasonal maintenance for free by himself to gain the confidence back. Most important, He stated that his company will stand by their work. I would give them another try in the future.

Very responsive, honest, and professional. Went through various steps in a few minutes to figure out why the heater would start up and then stop. Turned out to be burner issue versus computer module. Saved me a lot of money. This company has kept my 19-year old heater going strong and in good working condition. Highly recommend.

I installed a Nest thermostat last night and wasn’t aware that two wires had touched. The heat didn’t turn on for the first floor the entire night and it was below 60 degrees in the morning. I called before 8 am and left a message and Joe called me back within 15 minutes. He asked me what was going on and I gave him the analysis of what I found on the gas furnace. He immediately knew that I blew the fuse and that replacements can be found at a car parts store or Home Depot. He saved me a lot of stress and a lot of money. Thank you Joe, I am extremely grateful for your responsiveness and tremendous help!

Contacted Sawyer Heating and Air conditioning that my Condenser was not running properly, and the response I received was was immediate! The technician was onsite within a few hours and the the issue was rectified with my A/C unit running properly! Highly recommend Sawyers heating and air conditioning and will use this company in all further needs.

Joe and his team went above and beyond for us in replacing a faulty HVAC unit and realigning our other unit which had become un-level. My AC was acting up and not blowing out cool air. I had the pleasure in working with this company to resolve and a technician named 'Chance' came by to assist. After evaluation, I was told it was simply low on freon. Chance took care of it quickly. Fast and friendly and great communication. Highly recommend.

I definitely will come back to this HVAC service for all my heating and cooling needs. They’re a small family business. They came on short notice to fix a clogged drain line and tune up my system. We had a leak that caused ceiling damage because of an old drip pan kept during a new installation a couple years ago. The mechanic arrived early in the afternoon, diagnosed the problem, and corrected it for us. I appreciated his work ethic, honesty, and personability. He suggested some home remedies for small future problems as well as future affordable updates to our system that would make it more secure and safe. For the work performed, I feel his quote on the payment for his services was agreeable. 5/5 stars!

I highly recommend Sawyer's. They are friendly and professional. They replaced my old hvac system with a new heat pump and my house has never felt better. We actually had to adjust the thermostat because it was chilly in the house. That has never happened since we moved in 9 years ago. After the install, we had a couple minor problems and they came out right away to check it out and fix it. They are an excellent company. If you need hvac work, they are the ones to call.

Damon was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Our A/C was not working at full capacity and he took the time to troubleshoot and eventually clean it and replace Freon. He also explained things to my husband about how the units are supposed to work and overall he was able to share some of his experience and knowledge with my husband. We have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this company to family/ friends in the local area.
