We had an issue early on getting them to come out and communicate. But David and Danny at Gallows made it up and sent out the best crew to take care of our entire yard. We are very happy with the workmanship and professionalism of the specific crew that did our yard. Kudos to Dan as well at Gainesville for stepping up. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Rude and unfriendly staff. A poor range of low-quality products and lack of hydroponic products. Save yourself the time and purchase online or elsewhere.

This place is adult Disney Land 🥰❤️🥰 I ordered 8 cubic yards of compost, garden soil and mulch to be delivered to DC. The man on the phone was so charming and helpful. The delivery driver Miguel navigated narrow back alleys in an enormous truck with what can only be described as extraordinary skill. The soil quality is excellent! I went to the nursery this weekend and was very impressed with their huge selection and the quality of the plants.

Sooo expensive... but the selection and quality can't be beat. Also, the people that work there are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. If money isn't an object, this is the place to go. I typically go there to ask questions and get information, which is a way better option than researching on the internet.
I recently went there to buy seeds. They have a better variety of seeds than home depot down the street and all their seeds are certified organic. I also wanted to buy blueberry bushes, but, while they do have great variety, their bushes are very expensive - think $40-$50 avg for 1 gal. Ended up going to Lowes in Chantilly, which had Legacy blueberries at $27 for 3.25 gal (and could have bought 1 gal for $13). In terms of blueberries, I'd probably do Lowes -> online -> marryfield (based on selection/ price) -
So my Wife & I went there at the worst possible time: Saturday beginning of spring. The place was packed ! Well let you tell you; we had the most amazing experience! We had various People help us through our journey & everyone was so splendid to interact with. We will be back & I couldn’t recommend a better place.

Love this place. Definitely came back to see one of my favorite Garden Ladies Anouk. She wasn’t there tonight which was sad because she was/is the best.
Last night, the experience was good and had all the right items to fill up our living room for Christmas this year.
Merrifield Garden Center has a nice size lot with plenty of garden options and the employees take care of it. The location was easy to find and parking was simple.
The only thing missing was my very favorite person at Merrifield, bring her back!!! She is like Christmas Joy withk all her super sweet plant and flower knowledge. I’ll definitely come again, especially if my Angel 😇 Anouk G is there. -
Came here for some fun plant shopping for indoor plants. They have such a variety in their greenhouse. All of the plants were in healthy condition. They have common and unique plants. I was able to purchase a medium sized prayer plant $34.99, string of pearls $12.99, and a marbled pathos for $8.99. Additionally I found these beautiful off white/tan terracotta pots. Overall, prices are on the higher side but the quality is high. Less unique plants like the pathos run similar pricing as Lowes/ Home Depot but better value. I will definitely be back, my plants are already happy at home and no sign of over watering, pests, or disease. Would recommend this location for your indoor plant needs

Merrifield Gardens is as impactful as Toys 'R Us is for kids, or a bookstore for book lovers, for those who love plants. I spend hours on the weekend just walking around to browse their selection. I never plan on picking up anything new, but I always do. Today's choice is in the attached photos. 10/10, will visit again.

What an absolute delight it was to come here for the first time. It was bigger than I thought and the selection of indoor and outdoor plants, trees, flowers, and merchandise was incredible. We ended up buying an indoor gardenia plant from the greenhouse section. Didn’t catch the staff member’s, but she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She answered our questions and offered some advice. We will be booking a landscaping consultation very soon!

Fist time visit and I will certainly be back. I interacted with at least 7 staff members and everyone was amazing. They were friendly, knowledgeable and patient with questions.
Selection was out of this world and it only comes down to how much room you have in your budget and in your vehicle 😄
EDIT: Adding pictures of flowers in the ground with stones, still need more rocks and mulch surrounding them. -
Merrifield Garden Center continues to outshine all the rest. Amazing selection of both indoor and outdoor plants with stock constantly coming in. A seasonal area (huge, both indoor and out) that is an experience in itself. A wild bird department filled with feeders and seeds. All this, topped off with helpful, knowledgeable staff, makes it the best nursery in the DC area.

Always a great place to come and look for garden supplies, from tools to seeds, from plants to full grown trees of all kinds. I spoke with Jay (1 of 2 full time horticulturalists) this time about killing off bamboo and he was so thoroughly helpful in giving recommendations. Yes you can go elsewhere and find things cheaper, but you can’t put a price on experience, knowledge and true customer caring staff. Highly recommend visiting Merrifield. A recommendation form a life long resident of the area and a locally based General Contractor.

Merrifield has a ton of different options to choose from, whether they’re for outside or inside use. Their staff is also very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be how expensive everything is in comparison to other stores selling similar products. I still recommend checking this place out though!

We selected 36 trees and shrubs from Merrifields for a large landscaping project at my church. We received the highest quality plants, plus very helpful service from the staff onsite on several visits. Can't speak highly enough for this company and their staff. They had all of the plants that we wanted, including many native plants that can be hard to find.
Postwinter update: all the trees and shrubs are still in great shape and are budding! -
What a beautiful place!! I just wanted to get a chair and a drink and sit in the middle of all the plants. It was uplifting and what made It even better is Tony. What a great customer service. I went to Merrifield looking for a bloodgood japanese maple tree and found exactly what I wanted. I felt sad walking away without the persimon and the fig tree and I wish I had space and backyard for them but will definitely comeback very often . This place is therapy!!

It was my first time visiting this place, but I have worked with center in the past for my condo building. Both have been great experiences!Plenty of staff to help customers with random gardening questions and a lot of cashiers available to get you in and out quickly. Seems like a wide variety of flowers, shrubs, trees, soil pots, and gardening tools. It was cold spring day when I stopped by so most of the flowers were in the green houses to protect them from frost. I was able to find the quality potting soil which is what I was looking for in my trip today. I’ll be back for sure to get some flowers when it’s a bit warmer outside. Parking- plenty of spots to park. Definitely recommend checking them out for your gardening needs!

I stumbled upon this location by accident and immediately visited. I was super impressed by the huge variety of plants, trees and anything you could think of to start your own garden. I was a very disappointed because everything is extremely expensive. I was able to find what I was looking for but I but I noticed that some of the plants had pests and some plants were in very bad shape too. I asked for help from an older white lady and she was very dismissive and kept correcting me with an attitude. When I tried to ask her a second question she ignored me and she walked away. Im not going back.

Merrifield Garden Center is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful garden centers in the DC area that offers an extensive range of plant selections and decorations. They also have a large selection of Christmas decorations and trees that might leave you amazed. The pictures showcase the impressive collection of Christmas decorations available for sale. Additionally, the staff is incredibly friendly, making your shopping experience even more delightful.

Merrifield is the Best because of people like Victor and Pedro! Quality Customer Service, Quality Customer Service and Quality Customer Service. We bought an high quality hose caddy which somehow had a problem with the garden hose connector. With HD and/or Lowes, we would have tossed it in the garbage and winced at the cost. With Merrifield, they fixed it with a blow torch and a smile. Thank you Victor and Pedro. Merrifield Forever!!!

I am very disappointed with my experience at Merrifield Garden Center in Falls Church. In 2024, I purchased $670 worth of shrubs and had them professionally planted. Within a couple of months, the shrubs looked burned and began to die. I returned with one of the plants and was told they had not been properly scored before planting. However, when I first purchased them, the roots were extremely compacted and hard as a rock in the containers.
I was given a credit and decided to try again, but unfortunately the same issue happened not once, but two more times. Despite having lived in my home for 30 years with extensive landscaping and a full irrigation system, every attempt ended with the plants dying within a couple of months.
I understand their one-year replacement policy has expired, but I am very disappointed in both the quality of the shrubs and the response to my recent call. Merrifield was not open to any replacement, and the only resolution offered was to transfer me to the Plant Clinic.
After three failed attempts, I cannot recommend their shrubs or their customer service. -
Love this garden center! Always a good vibe! And thanks to the lovely lady who always help me with repotting my orchids!🌷
