The workers are eager to help you find what you need, and they were able to accommodate my special request for a smaller Christmas tree.

We visited Merrifield Garden Center today, and the plants were in pristine condition, clearly well-tended and thoughtfully displayed. What stood out most was the team. Everyone encountered was warm, cordial, and genuinely willing to help, not just with a quick answer, but with real engagement. A visit specifically to find a rubber plant came with a handful of specific questions, and each person spoken with handled every one of them with patience and knowledge.

The selection was also notable, with pots, soil, houseplants, and garden plants all under one roof, and enough variety to satisfy both the casual browser and the serious gardener.

Merrifield Garden Center is a good reminder of what a well-run local garden center can offer.

Bought our first real Christmas tree here today and could not be happier with the great service - from carrying the tree to get trimmed, to the rolling it out to the car and strapping it to the roof all within 10minutes. So easy, so fast and friendly, which when with a toddler, makes life so much easier. The trees are about double what we paid at lots in the past, but I would still come back for the good service ($190 for an 8ft tree). Looks good in the stand so far too! Hoping it lasts a month :)

Ben, the arborist, is a true professional. Passionate about trees and provides great guidance regarding trimming and whether a tree should be removed. The crew that showed up to trim and remove two trees (one dead, one diseased) were friendly I'm fully satisfied that they were doing. The carefully removed an Oak that was probably, 70' tall, without damaging an adjacent fence or create damage in my and my neighbor's yard. Further, they took care to avoid my sprinkler system and other plants. I enthusiastically recommend them for any tree work.

We had a couple branches on big trees in our backyard were broken. Ben, their arborist, came out and looked over all our trees to determine what all needed to be done. Their team came out the very next day and cut down all the unhealthy and broken branches. Would highly recommend RTEC for anyone looking to take good care of their trees!

I have used RTEC for a number of tree-related projects, including annual care, trimming, removal and planting. I have found them to be incredibly thorough, honest and responsive. I worked with Ben Gotch on the initial quote and proposal, and he is one of the nicest men I've ever met. He truly knows his trees, and he was trustworthy and informative. The crews each time were polite, careful, and cleaned up thoroughly. I could not recommend them more highly.

I had a bitter sweet experience with RTEC Treecare. I hired them to cut down a pine, grind the stump, and haul the wood. They were incredibly professional and attentive until they cut the tree. However, they never finished the job. They left a huge pile of wood chips on my front lawn. I called them and ask them to remove it for an extra price. They accepted, took the money, but never came to clean the pile. I called a number of times. Every time, they acknowledged the situation and promised to send someone, but it's been 3 months and the pile is still on my front yard. Since winter is almost over, I'll clean it myself.

Update:
After my initial review, they reached out and made things right. Even after the single bad experience I would hire them again. They are great and, like everyone, some times they have a bad day.

We have used RTEC several times and we are always impressed with their work and professionalism. Most recently, they removed a problematic pine tree that was quite tall and close to our shed and fence. Ben is the arborist that we’ve worked with and he’s fantastic. He’s super knowledgeable and great to work with. Nick and his crew arrived on time, did a great job, and cleaned up the site. They all wore the appropriate safety equipment and were respectful of the rest of our property.

The staff at RTEC is great. The consultation they gave was helpful, and it was clear that they know what they're doing. They coordinated with another family member who also needed tree care to make scheduling easy for both jobs. The crew obviously care about the health of of trees they work on and take pride in doing a good job. They know how to prune trees to make them look great without cutting too much.

Andy Ross and his team provided an exceptional experience during a stressful time. Their attention to detail, honest and thorough communication, and punctuality in both arrival and completion of the tree removal exceeded our expectations. Bonilla Tree Service did a superb job in tree removal and tree trimming for our office building in Falls Church. They took care, in removing a dead tree and stump, not to disrupt mature plantings surrounding the tree. They did a nice job trimming up and removing dead limbs on two existing trees. We have used Bonilla Tree Service for more than 10 years. Efrain has always been punctual, professional and offered honest advice. Their estimates are consistently lower than competing businesses. The way they remove and trim trees is like artwork. After clean up, there is no evidence that they were even there except of course, the tree is gone. We highly recommend this business to anyone in need of tree work.

We have been using Bonilla Tree Service since 2020. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. Efrain came out and gave us an estimate for fall tree trimming. The estimate was very reasonable and we had the work completed today. Julio and his crew were amazing. They were very polite, respectful, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. We were so impressed by how our trees looked when they were finished. They cleaned up the yard so that there was not a leaf left in it. One of the joys of home ownership is the tree work that is forced upon us from time to time. I had dead and dying limbs overhanging a driveway which meant that the driveway was no longer a safe place to park my car. Had no cozy relationship with any tree service company so went to google, where I was overwhelmed by the selection. I decided to cut through the chaos by applying the following highly personal and somewhat idiosyncratic filter: which company has the nicest sounding name? The answer, it seemed to me, was Bonilla Tree Service. So I went with them and by some miracle my peculiar way of narrowing the field turned out to be an excellent way to filter because I am very pleased by the work that Bonilla did for me. Once they got started I realized that this job was more complicated than I thought it would be, involving two big trucks, a lift, a chipper, and a crew of 6 working for 4 hours. Considering all that I got, for what I paid, I think I did very well. Three big trees were worked on and when the cutting was complete a thorough and meticulous clean up started. When Bonilla left, my yard was in better shape than before they got here. Yes I would use them again and I would be comfortable advising anyone in need of tree work to contact them. What’s in a name? A lot, apparently.

I never write reviews online, but I had to do it this time. I felt compelled because I have never had the kind of service that I had with Bonilla Tree Service in a very, very long time. The staff was courteous and polite. They did an amazing job and removed all the debris. Every single stick was gone. They are very reasonable. I would highly recommend.just hire them.

This is an amazing company. We have used them for many years, and we recently had to have an extremely large tree removed from our property. Complete professionals, very fair in their pricing and super responsive! There's just no comparison to anyone else out there. These folks are wonderful!
