Miki and his team went above and beyond what was needed to done! Our furnace system was over 25 years old and installed a completely new furnace for us just in time for the cold front to get here this week! They also installed a new water/heater and everything came $3K lower than what big companies in NOVA area quoted us! Please call Miki and his team! They treat you like their own friends and family because they really care about what they do! Our gas pipe was so loose among other things but they fixed it all up to code! I am a happy client and will continue to use them for years to come! Thank you. MIKI AND TEAM!!

My heating unit stopped blowing hot air a few weeks back and Mike did a great job of fixing the issue. I couldn't have asked for a better service from Mike and the team. They were extremally responsive, transparent and honest. Mike was upfront and fixed the issue the same day. First HVAC company that didn't tell me to replace my unit. Additionally, Mike did a great job of educating me on things I should look out for down the line if the problem occurs again.

What a great experience I had today with Fairfax Cooling & Heating! This is the best company I have dealt with in decades.

House full of children and grandchildren for a summer visit over July 4th holiday and the air conditioner stops working late morning, this morning. Temperature has been in the upper 90's all week. First on the google list is Fairfax Cooling & Heating, Terry answers the phone promptly, understands the situation and provides advice over the phone on what settings to have on my thermostat while she arranges for a service call. Mike shows up, same day, near the beginning of the appointment window, listens to the air conditioner, shuts off the power, opens up the unit, identifies the trouble, gets the replacement parts from his truck, makes the switch, puts the unit back together and we turn the power back on- ice cold air now coming out of the vents by the time we get to one to check. Mike was amazing, the repair was done in less than 15 minutes of his arrival. He also offered numerous tips on balancing the system and maximizing its efficiency, and dealing with large gatherings when cooling will be a challenge. The cost was a fraction of what I anticipated, and Fairfax Cooling & Heating now has another customer for life.

Fairfax Cooling & Heating installed/replaced my old AC system 8 years ago. Today, Miki came by again to help quickly diagnose and resolve an issue I had with my AC unit. It was apparent how knowledgeable and honest they are as the issue was resolved quickly and professionally. I will continue to work with them for my future HVAC needs.

I had a new HVAC installed in April. Not only was the price super competitive but they were able to complete in 5 hours. The unit is incredible. For the first time the third floor is just as cool as the basement. And the monthly electric bill has gone down $150! Fairfax Cooling has been super responsive when I have had minor issues. The only real issue I have now is that the unit is working too well. I am getting condensation in the attic. We are working to fix now. I totally recommend Fairfax Cooling and Heating!

Heat pump stopped working with the next day expected to be one of the hottest on record. Didn’t notice until after 6 pm. Mike was able to come out by 8 pm that night, diagnosed and fixed the issue asap. Also helpfully answered other questions we had about our system. Best service we have had in a while.

2023 update: Have used Fairfax Heating and Cooling at our old house and new house. Very fast service, great prices, so thankful to have a reliable, friendly, fast HVAC service to be able to depend on.

Amazing! Same day estimate, and quoted at least $50 less than other companies to come out to the house. Fixed the problem quickly, showed what to do for future reference, and great customer service. Will definitely use again in the future!!!

We just had Fairfax Cooling & Heating service our indoor air handler at our rental property and do a service call at our primary residence for a system check. Mike did both and was helpful and knowledgeable. He provided an assessment of the indoor air handler issue, a few options of fixing it, the pros/cons of each option, and quotes for the repairs. We discussed what made the most sense and once a decision was made he made the repair within a day at the price quoted. Our tenant was happy considering the heat!! When Mike was at our primary residence he checked out our units and gave us some pointers on how to ensure we get the maximum capability out of the units as well as some additional info regarding keeping them clean. It was really helpful. I feel very confident in Fairfax Cooling & Heating. They have been reliable, dependable and reasonable on cost for each of the times I have used them. Definitely recommend!

Our AC stopped working tonight around 10 PM. We are in the middle of a heat wave with high humidity. My husband is a veteran with heart issues and is on a lot of medications. Heat is very dangerous for him.
I called around to try and find emergency repair and was told someone could be out tomorrow. The only company that could come out charged $599 for just the service call. Home Advisor recommended Fairfax Cooling and Heating. Terry called me and assured me that Mike would be showing up at our house shortly. Mike arrived within 30 minutes! He was very professional and cheerful. Mike figured out the problem in minutes, replaced the faulty part and advised us on how to clean out our unit correctly. He even noticed that we were missing caps and provided them free of charge. This was so affordable and personal customer service. Thank you so much to Terry and Mike!

Mike was quick to respond and available quickly to my house. He spent maybe 10’ diagnosing and suggested we need a new circuit breaker which was tripping. I replaced it and the issue still remains. I was still charged $125 for his diagnosing fee. I didnt bother with the charge as it is standard but his diagnosis was not accurate and didnt help at all. Imagine bringing in the car to the dealership and get the car back with the same issue: “well we didnt know whats going on but since we spent time on it, heres your $500 diagnosis fee”

My AC unit was leaking pretty severely during this past hot summer. While I had called a bunch of other places, Andy was able to come out, inspect, and fix the issue quickly. He showed me the issue and gave me options to fix it after cleaning out the drain. I opted to install an EZ trap and new drain line so now I can see when the line gets dirty. I have an extremely old AC unit so I was happy to keep it running for a little while longer, until it needs to be fully replaced. Based on my experience, I would recommend their service.

This company is absolutely superlative in every respect. They installed three zones for us five years ago. This morning we awoke to a hot and humid upstairs. I called Terri who was very sick but managed to get in touch with Michael, who was here within an hour on a weekend to fix our upstairs and most important zone. It was hot and humid. For most companies we would’ve had to wait till Monday morning, but not with this company!! Do not ever go with anybody else for any of your HVAC needs. They are simply the best in the business.

Fairfax Cooling and Heating has been maintaining our 4 residential HVAC systems in McLean for 20+ years. Each system is different, each has their quirks, and Miki and his crew have been able to keep them running at full capacity. All units are 20+ yrs old. They perform both the spring & fall check ups, add juice when needed, and have diagnosed and resolved a multitude of performance issues- as they arise.

Mike and the team were awesome. He was highly responsive and came over just an hour after I called. Not only did he fix a poorly sloped drain line, but he also detected a small gas leak in my unit and took care of all the repairs. He gave me a really fair price and also educated me on how the unit is functioning. Overall great experience and would highly recommend!

I don't usually write reviews, but Fairfax Cooling and Heating Company was great. They provided same day response to the service call of our AC failing. We ordered couple fans from Amazon to keep us cool for a couple of days, but they brought the AC unit and installed them, before Amazon could deliver the package! Above all, the price was the best we found on the market!

We recently moved into our house, and learned that our heat pump has refrigerant leak. I called Fairfax Cooling to take a look because they installed the unit for the previous owners. I paid the diagnostic fee, but ultimately did not go with them for the full repair for two reasons. First, the servicer pretty much convinced me that the parts warranty on the unit (installed in 2021) did not transfer to me as a new owner, so I would have to pay out of pocket for the part, and that no one would do the service for less than $3500. Second, the servicer actually suggested that I outright replace the newish unit just so that I would be able to get a full warranty. Needless to say, I continued searching around for another contractor. Turns out...the warranty does transfer to me, and I am in fact getting the repair done for less than $3500.

Just recently, our AC was on the fritz during the heatwave. Fairfax Cooling & Heating came out on July 4th and set up a temporary solution, and then a few days later was able to fix it permanently. Again, they were professional and forthright.

They installed a 50-gallon Bradford White gas hot water heater this afternoon. They previously installed a gas furnace in the middle of the night when it died in November. I've always felt comfortable dealing with them since they never pressure the customer and are upfront when repairs aren't necessary.

Their crew of jovial workmen arrived promptly at 9 am and installed the tank and replaced the old lines for water and gas that had leaks. As the old tank was 25 years and leaking water from the bottom of the tank, it was great to catch it before it flooded the basement. Thanks, and here is the photograph of the new hot water heater.

On a 95 degree day, he responded to a message I left at 8:00 pm regarding our broken a/c and it was fixed by 9:15 pm. He has been providing excellent and timely service to our family for years.
