Their technician spotted an issue that apparently gets commonly misdiagnosed. Ended up getting an ext I called them back weeks later after a friend mentioned similar issues, and they were so kind as to even dig around a bit for the details of our service.

Fairfax Cooling and Heating rock! I woke up to a hot house during a heat wave. Sent a request early in the morning. Received a call shortly after, letting me know someone would be on the way. Mike arrived, diagnosed and fixed the issue, in less than 15 min. Service was quick and affordable and Mike kept me informed the whole time. I highly recommend Fairfax Cooling and Heating and happy to support local family businesses.

AC was short cycling (turning on and off in one minute bursts). Michael diagnosed the problem over the phone. He arrived at our house and fixed the problem in the most efficient way possible. He was in and out in 20 minutes, and our AC was back on.. Michael is a consummate professional with decades of expertise. It is very apparent that he loves and takes immense pride in his work. We've found our HVAC specialist.

Previously, we used a much larger company that spent a ton of money on advertising. Their technician took hours to incorrectly diagnose the issue, and tried to charge us $1300 just to replace a thermostat.

When Michael came, he confidently told us that there was no issue with the thermostat, and told us exactly what was causing the short cycling. He switched out the part at a fair price, and did his due diligence. Highly recommend!

We recently had a new heat pump and air handlers installed with Fairfax Cooling and Heating and were very pleased with the process/result! Mike was responsive and clear about our options, did not try to upsell us, had a competitive bid, and had his team installing quickly. When we had a small follow-up question, he came out personally on a Sunday morning to double check and adjust our thermostat settings. Would definitely recommend!

Whenever replacing the filter doesn't solve my HVAC issues, I always reach out to Fairfax Cooling and Heating. Mike usually comes by quickly and figures out the problem within minutes. He is also willing to explain what the problem is and gives some tips to diagnose and prevent problems, too, if you ask.

During this last snowstorm my heat stopped working and I called who I normallly call, Croppe Metcalfe. They scheduled an appt. 3 days out and then proceeded to cancel on me. A neighbor referred me to Fairfax Cooling & Heating and they were able to stop by the day I called, diagnose the problem, order and pick up the part and have me up and running within 24 hours. I know who I will be calling from now on for my heating and cooling issues. They were FANTASTIC!!!!!

Cannot recommend Fairfax Cooling and Heating enough for your HVAC needs. Our upstairs heating unit suddenly stopped working last night, so we gave them a call the next morning. To our surprise (especially since it had just snowed 2 feet the day before), they were able to dispatch someone the same day. They resolved the issue in less than an hour and charged a very reasonable rate.

After waiting three very cold days without heat for repair service from a company I had on a retainer, I turned to Fairfax Cooling & Heating. Despite it being the coldest period of the season with lots of service demands, Mike was at our house in a couple of hours and within an hour had our heating service restored. The replacement thermostat works more effectively than the previous one and the cost of the service call and replacement thermostat was lower than anticipated. We are grateful to the timeliness and competence of Fairfax Cooling & Heating and will entrust them with future service needs.
