Kingstowne Carpet & Upholstery is excellent! I moved to the area a little more than a year ago and tried three different carpet cleaners before I found Steve and Kingstowne. Now he is the only person I call. We have three large dogs and three active humans living in a house with a lot of cream colored carpet. Excessive shedding, and the occasional accident (all from the dogs, I promise) are no match for Steve. He has always been able to accommodate our schedule and our occasional last minute needs, no job has been too big or to small. Our carpets come out looking great every time. I highly recommend him, and definitely plan to use his services again!

Picked up, performed magic on my 5 Persian wool carpets, delivered. The colors are magnificent, the texture, the smell, clearly expert in the field. Not a strand of feline fur remains, I checked! Have recommended them and seen the same fab results on those carpets including one excellent fringe repair. So glad I asked about pads, like walking on clouds. Thank you, Steve!

Stop looking this is the company you're looking for! Steve Miller and his team of rug specialist performed a miracle on my rug! I had multiple burns and a hole that Steve cleaned and stitched the hole back together. Steve reached out to me personally and was very responsive to my texts and concerns. He even met me up on New Years morning to drop off my rug because it was a time sensitive project for me. Before speaking to Steve I reached out to Hadeed carpet and rug cleaning who quoted me $300 JUST TO LOOK AT MY RUG! Steve did no such thing and I am very grateful.

I bought two beautiful rugs second hand. (Steve told me that one was a Karastan!). But because they were second hand, I couldn’t justify spending more to clean them than what I had spent to purchase them. Imagine my delight when there was a 40% off sale for the New Year! The rugs were delivered in beautiful condition. I can’t wait to completely furnish my home with other rugs that will be cleaned by Kingstowne Carpet & Rug Cleaners.

I contacted Steve by text on a lark one Saturday morning. Within one hour (and three texts later), I had a firm price, a return delivery date, and my 9x12 wool area rug had been picked up. He did an amazing job. Probably the easiest, most pleasant and most satisfying service transaction I've experienced in years.

Great service - my very dirty carpets are like new. Easy communications - much done thru texts to accommodated my hours. Timing as promised. Costs were affordable. And resized one carpet that had an unusual binding. Looks terrific. I’ll be cleaning my carpets more often.

I had some water damage in my home and had to get two Persian rugs sent out to be cleaned. Kingstowne Rug Cleaning did a fabulous job on my rugs and made everything easy accommodating my crazy work schedule for pick up and return. I highly recommend them and will be using them again! They also restore the fringe on rugs and other restoration work.

I had Kingstowne clean a Thai rug that had spent some time on the floor in its previous life. Communications with them were fast and very clear. Pickups and dropoffs were right on time. They provided a cost estimate up front, and that was exactly where the job came in at -- no additional costs of any sort. They did a beautiful job on the rug. There is not a single thing that I could have asked them to do differently.

If I could have given them 6 stars, I would have.

I have never had rugs professionally cleaned before but Steve and his team made this process easy and incredibly smooth. Really awesome job cleaning and refreshing the 3 small rugs I’ve had for a few years. A move to a new apartment called for a refresh and I’m glad I contacted this team. They were responsive, quick, reasonably priced, and they even came by and picked them up and dropped them back off (during a snowstorm) !! Many thanks.

We had 4 rugs recently cleaned and/or repaired by Kingstowne. The work was outstanding. One of the rugs that was cleaned and repaired looked like new even though it was well over 30 years old. Kingstowne owner, Steve Miller, provided exceptional service both in communicating pick up and delivery as well as providing estimates for the work. When providing information on repair costs, he also gave us the value of our rug if repaired to help us make the decision on repair value. That was surprising and so helpful. This is a company that cares about its customers and provides exceptional service to back it up. We have found a company we will definitely use again!

I'm a little late in writing this review - but we have used Kingstowne Carpet and Rug Cleaning several times, and honestly they are likely the only place we will ever use (I say "likely" because we would have to move out of the area to use someone else). Steve is so INCREDIBLY responsive and honest about what can and can't be done in terms of cleaning services. Unlike many other places, they are on time in terms of pick up and also drop off.

Here are just a few of the obstacles that they have helped us with:
- The very first time we used them, we were going through a home renovation and we were able to schedule delivery of our rugs just as the renovation was scheduled to be complete.
- One of our rugs had moths, they were able to clean and treat all of our rugs (Steve also provided an inspection to let us know how bad the damage was)
- We had a wool rug with some staining, we were provided with an honest assessment of how much of it could be removed.

I live in downtown Washington, DC - there are plenty of options. I have been let down by plenty of other business. Even if I had to wait to utilize the services of Kingstowne Carpet and Rug Cleaning, I would. I literally would trust no one else or go nowhere else. I am a loyal customer - they are an honest business with hard working folks that do an incredible job every single time.

Kingstown Carpet cleaned and repaired my 9x12 silk oriental carpet. I am pleased beyond words. Steve took time to explain how the cleaning and repair work would be done, even providing photos of his work. The carpet came back brighter and softer than I thought possible! Steve’s communication and time management skills are excellent. This man is a true professional.

From the reviews I saw on YELP Kingstown Carpet appeared to be the best carpet cleaning company around the D.C. metro area, so I sent my three oriental rugs to them for cleaning. The rugs came back in four days soft, vibrant, and perfectly clean—neatly rolled and wrapped in plastic for our move out of state. I wish I had a similar quality rug cleaning service where I am moving. Before I leave I’m going to have them clean an upholstered chair. Prices are fair (low really), they pick up and deliver on time and they are excellent communicators and all around nice people.

I just had a fantastic experience with Kingstown Carpet! I was recommended to them by a friend, who also had a fantastic experience. I simply gave them a call and described my carpet. Within a day they had driven to my house and collected my carpet. The quote was straightforward and transparent. They worked with my schedule in returning the carpet, and it was cleaned and beautifully wrapped. The final fee was exactly as quoted. On top of everything else, everyone we dealt with was professional, friendly, and extremely engaging. I would not hesitate to recommend Kingstown Carpet and have already done so!

Steve at Kingstown Carpet & Rug Cleaning came to my townhouse, looked at my 2 oriental rugs and said that they would be able to clean them both. He made a wonderful suggestion on how to modify the unfinished ends of my largest oriental rug. After a few weeks, Steve notified my that my rugs were clean, the ends of the largest rug had been organically sewn with short fringe, and Kingstown Carpet could drop the rugs off at my townhouse. Both rugs look beautiful and I've very pleased with the finished ends of the large oriental.

I have used Kingstowne Carpets for several years. They are wonderful! I have used them to clean old large orientals, runners with moth damage and they have provided excellent service. Reasonable prices - pick up and delivery.

Highly recommend. Owner is very personable and provides great customer service. I had 4 large (8x10) rugs and 4 small rugs cleaned. 3 of the large rugs are oriental origin. Rugs were picked up and returned in a week. The family room oriental carpet needed a small repair from constant use. Now carpet looks brand new. The other carpets also are sparkling clean. Delighted with the outcome.

Steve Miller is responsive, kind and helpful. Not often to find a business that feels local and personable. Kingstowne Carpet & Rug cleaned a 10 x 14 ft rug that looked fabulous after and cut a high-quality rug pad to place underneath. Rather than take a shortcut, the company waited until they had a large enough piece of padding. Service was swift and communicative. I very much appreciated the pick up and drop off service.

I can't say enough good things about Steve and his team at Kingstowne Carpet & Rug Cleaning. I've used them several times for pickup and return delivery in Old Town Alexandria, so convenient. The quality of their cleaning is superb, and their overall service is terrific. They even helped me lift beds to remove rugs! I wish all small businesses were this good and efficient. And they're a pleasure to work with, with great communications via text messages, and flexibility to pick and return on dates requested. It doesn't get any better than this!

So glad I found Kingstowne Carpet! I was on the verge of tossing a much beloved but seriously dirty rug. But based on glowing reviews, decided to take a chance. So glad I did! Kingstowne was quick to respond and so kind. They both picked up and returned the rug to my home - a huge plus. And given the condition of the rug, did a remarkable job. Highly recommend!!
