We closed on our new home on November 17, 2017, and have reached the end of the 1 year home warranty period. I waited until the year was up to post my review because I firmly believe service after the sale is important.

Now that we have been in the house for a full year I can honestly say R-CI built an awesome home for us.

Their Build On Your Lot program was perfect for us. Our project manager, Ray, did a great job with his oversite. The sub contractors did a very good job. Tim, their warranty person, is great and even responded to an HVAC issue on a Saturday morning. The ladies in the design center helped us design The perfect home for our lifestyle.

Patrick, one of the owners of R-CI, walked the lot with us before we closed on the property, and helped us place our home perfectly on our 6 acre lot. Todd, the other owner we dealt with, helped us design the perfect home and even called a few days after we moved in to make sure everything was completed as we expected.

All in all a great experience and we have recommended R-CI to friends who are looking to build as well.

Based on our experience we feel confident we made the right decision.

RCI Builders have been fantastic to work with! Matt Rutledge helped us with our initial plans and what to expect as we started to envision our dream home. In the design studio, Katie was super helpful guiding us to pick out the finishes of our beautiful home. Sonny was our project manager and helped to provide valuable insight and expertise with our new build! We LOVE our forever home and highly recommend them!!

We recently purchased a new home from RCI and closed earlier this year. Josh Kegel was our construction project manager and he was fantastic! We weren’t able to relocate to Virginia until our house was finished, so we were 1,300 miles away for most of our construction process. He kept us updated, always made himself available, addressed our questions, had great ideas and got things done. Josh is extremely personable and the kind of guy that values relationships. He’s been incredibly helpful and we truly appreciate the positive experience of building our beautiful new home with him!!!

Never built with them but they are the main company that manages our subdivision. Sold “high end homes” in Old Church area but they’re cheap and run it like a cheap motel. The contractors they get are low bid do terrible work but they want well over half a million to live in a “luxury” neighborhood. They had some 14 year old come “hydroseed” the roadsides and coated the road people’s yards and half the trees with hydroseed that’s probably weeds like the first round of “grass” they installed, but hey, $600-1M luxury right. Very disappointing, each passing day seems like more motivation to sell and get out of here. Sucks our dream home (that’s falling apart and built shoddy) on some land is pretty tainted and not enjoyable. Do your research before you get into any of these RCI neighborhoods and make sure you know what you’re getting in to.

We have built several homes in our 41 years of being married and without exception our experience with RCI builders has been exceptional! Brian Peay was a professional responsive and empathetic during the build. Ashley and Sara were just as helpful keeping us informed during the process of design and selections.

I would recommend them to anyone that wants to build a new home and if we ever build another home we would definitely use RCI again!

Built My House , They stood behind everything they said they would do, and exceed expectations. Project Manager Andy is the greatest, Hope you get him when you work with them. But everyone you work with at RCI is a stand up person. Had some issues with Selling Relator, but RCI made it right. I had Heart Surgery during the build, and they made special trips out to job site, when it was good for me , took special care of my wife when they knew I was unavailable . Would recommend them to anyone needing a home.

We have had a great experience working with RCI building the house we moved into in January 2023. The staff were knowledgeable, and worked with us through the decision-making process to help us to design the house we wanted. The build process was completed ahead of schedule and with quality workmanship. Issues were taken care of in a cooperative manner and we're very happy getting settled in to our new home.

My husband and I was new to the area and decided to build our first new home, we both feel incredibly fortunate to have gotten lucky enough to meet Matt Rutledge with RCI! Matt led us to an unfinished model home in the area and my husband and I both knew that was the home for us! We had no idea what to expect and had lots of questions along the way. Troy Szalay was assigned to be our project manager and we couldn't have been in better hands, he was very patient and responsive to all our questions and needs. My husband and I are grateful that we were introduced to RCI and their team. We have been in our home for about a month now and couldn't be happier, everything was finished ahead of schedule and the quality of the home is second to none! If you are considering building a new home please do yourself a favor and select RCI to be your builder!

We purchased a spec house from RCI and it has been the best decision we have ever made. They spared no expense on the upgrades and we could not be happier. We were paired up with Josh as our project manager and he has gone above and beyond with his services. He introduced himself early in the buying process and at our two week walk through had already gone through the entire house and marked off all the things that needed attention and he did a better job than we ever could of! We would definitely build again with RCI and Josh!

We have been completely satisfied with RCI and the new home they are building for us. The design and contract process was organized and professional. The process of selecting interior and exterior features was easy and we had excellent guidance from Katie of the RCI design team. The construction process has been smooth and on schedule. Our project manager, Brian Click, has been excellent. He communicates with us each week and keeps us informed of progress. Brian led our electrical walkthrough and it was extremely thorough. We discussed every light, every switch, and every power outlet in every room to make sure the house would be set up the way we wanted. Brian has resolved issues and answered questions quickly, and he has consistently been on top of every detail. Our house is beautiful and we’re looking forward to closing next week.

I moved into Stags Trail in March, and I love living here. My house is gorgeous and the subdivision is
perfect for homeowners 55 plus. A shout out to Gabe from RCI, he is great to deal with if any issues occur and resolves them quickly.

We had such an amazing experience working with RCI builders for our new home. We absolutely love the finished product and quality! The staff is fantastic from start to finish! Our agent was phenomenal at keeping the mortgage process moving as it should. Our project managers did such an amazing job keeping us informed every step of the way with the construction process and answered any questions we had. The support after moving in has also been fantastic, they really value their customer’s satisfaction with their product!

At our initial meeting with RCI & Brian Click, he walked us through the build process and said he would be our point man every step of the way, and he did just that! Brian spent countless hours with us in person, emails and the never ending texting and handled all of the nuances of the build to perfection! We could not imagine building a new home without Brian by our side. 5 Stars is really not enough emphasis on our experience because after the close and over a year later he’s attention to continued service has been outstanding and above & beyond the obligation of the job. Brian has become a personal friend, continued his commitment to his product and a complete pleasure to work with.

From start to finish the process felt like a breeze. I have extremely high standards and am admittedly picky, so when I was continually impressed with the efficiencies, cleanliness and exceptional communication, I was left pretty speechless.
Throughout the design and build process, we got to meet with a number of exceptional members of RCI's team & we'd be remised not to call them out for their friendliness, professionalism & guidance.

If only everyone who builds a home were lucky enough to have Brian Click as their Project Manager. He consistently worked to make sure our expectations were set & then continued to exceed them all. My Fiance and I took a leap of faith and decided to build for our first home. We went with RCI's Becky floor plan and our Project manager Brian Click built us a beautiful home and delivered it to us on time.

We built our home in Kennington Subdivision last year. The process was so easy working with Jake Sklar our realtor in finding our lot and house plan to working with Bobby our project manager. Bobby was very attentive to our requests. He was very professional , honest and friendly. RCI builders have good employees that performs their job above and beyond expectations. We are happy with the results.

Certainly the most subpar builder I have seen. I work for a company that does repairs and sixty to seventy percent of the business is fixing RCI homes. They use the cheapest materials, cheapest laborers and the fastest methods to build their houses as fast as possible. It seems their ploy is to not respond when you call them out for the required walkthroughs and touch-ups so you will end up being financially responsible. I made sure to attach a picture of some of their lovely handiwork. As one of the other reviewers stated, if you're thinking of hiring RCI find a different company before you ask yourself RC why? P.S take a look how long it took them to respond to that reviewers post. Further shows their lack of interest and professionalism.

RC-I Builders has been a blessing for us. We recently moved cross country from Arizona to Virginia, and have experienced tremendous assistance from this firm and more specifically, from Matt Rutledge as our agent. We first encountered Matt at an RC-I model home in Ashland Park, and from there were very well accommodated and guided to the home we chose to build. Initially we considered renting to first get the "lay of the land", and then further considered purchasing an existing home, but after continued discussion, and viewing additional RC-I model homes we realized we could build exactly what we wanted brand new!
Every interaction has been handled professionally, courteously, and timely....even to the extent of what can now be best described as fun. This firm is big enough to offer numerous options, and small enough to care for you as an individual, not just a transaction. Highly recommended!

Recently moved into our new home in Stags Trail. Bryan and Gabe have been nothing but wonderful assisting me with getting situated and also helping with some interior issues that are not builder related. They are extremely knowledgeable , courteous and very accessible responding to a text or phone call same day, weekends as well. Couldn’t ask to be in a better location for our forever home.
