Home Services reviews in Reston, Virginia

The hours are not correct and much too short for most customers. They are not opening until 9am and are closed by 5pm. Dry cleaning is satisfactory but seems to average 3-4 days.

I've regularly had a good experience with good quality cleaning and reasonable prices. All of my items come back well pressed and clean.

Ruined a brand new pair of suit pants during an alteration. Replaced the pants with another pair that was the wrong style and size. To trick me into thinking they bought the right pair, they cut and switched the inside tags, but they did a shabby job and it was pretty easy to detect. There are many more details on how this whole thing went badly, but bottom line is these guys are shady.

The lady who does alterations is horrible. She does a sloppy job. She made my straps way too small on my dress that I'm supposed to be wearing in a wedding. She completely screwed me over by ruining my dress. Never trust them to do any kind of alterations.

Fast and friendly service. Great prices, esp when considering other dry cleaning places! This is my go-to dry cleaner in the Reston area, and since moving here this summer, I have yet to be disappointed! This review coming from a loyal and happy customer :)

Dropped off a uniform jacket to be cleaned. Got it back 2 days later, after it had ostensibly hung on the rack for the previous two days. No evidence of having been cleaned, still covered in lint and the hair from a dog that we no longer have, or possibly never owned. $8 for that? Not going back.

Brought a knit cardigan here for dry cleaning. I will acknowledge this material is prone to snag if not properly cared for, however I have never brought it anywhere else for cleaning. After picking it up, I noticed a few weeks later there was a patch job on the back, as if someone had snagged or tore it, and then tried to repair it. My biggest issue with this is nobody alerted me of this tear when I picked it up and they charged me for my clothes per usual.
I went back and brought this up - trying to give the benefit of doubt and see if they would make it right. At the bare minimum I thought they could refund me for the cardigan's dry cleaning fee, as they obviously had damaged it. The woman shrugged her shoulders and said that I was the one in the wrong for not reporting it within 2 weeks of picking it up. I'm sure most people do the same as me, and hang up dry-cleaned items only to be worn a few weeks or months later on the right occasion. We will be taking our business elsewhere, since this is how they choose to treat their customers, even after I went out of my way to stop in and explain the issue. -
I have used this place three times. The first two times I was taken care of like a normal customer would. Dry clean and press, easy enough. The third time I came in I had a stain on a tie and asked if they could take out without damaging the tie. They said yes and charged me almost $5 to clean it. A few days later, I picked it up and the stain was still there but you could see fraying on the tie where they attempted to remove the stain. I showed them the stain was still present and reminded them that I asked if they could remove the stain without damaging the tie. I was a little irritated by this and they told me they would try again and to come back in a week. A week and a half later I came to pick up my tie. The stain was STILL THERE and there was more noticeable fraying. I asked for a refund and the woman said that refunds aren't offered and that they tried twice and would not try to clean it again. I reminded her that if they COULDN'T remove the stain to let me know UPFRONT so that I could take it elsewhere. I told her she just lost a customer. I will NEVER do business with this company ever again and am posting this review for others to be mindful of taking their clothing items here. Judging from the reviews of the other location on Plaza America Drive, this company doesn't take care of their customers too well.

So far so good - most reviews seem to be from 1 or 1+ years ago and not too many of them

I have an excellent dry cleaner in Oakton, but forced myself to try Village Square Cleaners in Reston despite its bad reviews because it was close by. I should have known better and stayed away. I tested the waters by letting them clean 2 or 3 shirts and it was fine. But, when I dropped off my regular batch of around 10 shirts, 4 of them came back with stains. Admittedly, one of them was mine that I had pointed out to them when I dropped off the shirt (they weren’t able to get it out) but 3 others came back with NEW stains that weren’t there when I dropped them off. After some convincing, which involved them telling me the stains were from me (which obviously wasn’t true) they agreed to try to get them
out. When I returned to pick up, no surprise, the stains were still there. I asked if they wanted to try again to get their own stains out or receive a bad review (which I almost never do). They said to give them a bad review and obviously don’t care. Hoping my regular dry cleaners will be able to get the stains out but, if not, I’m out three nice white shirts because I didn’t heed the bad reviews. Bottom line: If it doesn’t matter to you if your dry cleaner ruins around 1/3 of your shirts, go here, but if you want your dry cleaners to actually clean—and not ruin—your shirts, definitely go somewhere else. -
Use them once and they will never stop calling you for years.

More than a year ago I left a negative review because of the amount of live and automated calls I get about scheduling another gutter cleaning. I told them verbally multiple times to take me off the list. The last review I left someone responded and said they would take me off the list. It's been at least a year or two and I swear I am still getting voice mails from them weekly. I blocked the number but their voice mails still pop up.
I won't give a one star rating because they did good work when they came. But unless you REALLY want to subscribe to gutter cleaning services on a schedule, I would NOT use this company. Be prepared to be bombarded in every way possible to sign up for another cleaning. -
