Reviews of local pros in Smithfield, Virginia

I'm glad I found Opie's Tree Service. I first met with their employee Roger a few days ago. He walked my property with me, advised me on different options available for the three trees I wanted removed, and provided a written quote. Two days later, my trees were gone (including stumps), with the ground leveled and job site cleaned up perfectly. Roger's communication was excellent, and the quality of the work matched the professionalism of the initial consultation. I will use Opie's for any future trees that I need removed.

Just used this company for a second time and we’re just as pleased. Rodger, CJ, and KJ do fantastic work. We had two massive pines very close to our house removed. They take their time with no heavy equipment to get the job done. The ground was wet and they somehow manage to make it barely noticeable they were here. Will definitely use again and highly recommend them. Their prices are great too!

The best!! Had 7 trees removed, 3 close to the house. They were very professional and safe. I will do business with them again.

Opie’s tree service is another one of those great fines in Smithfield. Roger and his crew where extremely professional and respectful while they were at our house. You would never had known they had been there, except for the missing tree branches. The yard was actually cleaner when they left, then when they arrived. The price was on point for the work they performed. And both appointment times that we had scheduled with Roger, he was actually early, which sets high marks with us. We definitely want this crew back for our future tree services. Highly recommended!

Roger had done a small stump grinding job for me last year, so when a few large branches came down on a mulberry I have, I texted him to see if he wanted to do the work. He got right back to me, showed up in 100 degree heat and did a great job. Would 100% recommend.

We’ve used Opie’s twice to remove around 10 trees from our front yard, one being a very tall pine. Responsive, fair prices, efficient, great cleanup, easy to work with - we’re very happy with their work and will use them again in the future!

Service done: cut down 1 - 80 Feet Pine tree, 1 - 65 Feet Cherry Tree, 1 - 35 Feet Cedar tree, and trimmed multiple large branches from other pine trees.
Great experience for my first time working with a Tree Service Company. Roger and his crew came over in the morning and were done by 5. Very polite and meticulous in their tree cutting process. These guys did not use heavy equipment and it was amazing to watch them climb up into the trees and cut down and rope the trees in pieces. They were the most reasonably priced folks in town and I will be giving them a call back the next time I need tree work.

THANK YOU!

Moving to a new area requires you to find all new service providers and I have found my new tree service. We used Opies to remove two dead trees. The price was fair and the crew was very professional.

Opie's tree service did an outstanding over the top job. They were extremely knowledgeable, professional and mindful of all the obstacles in the way of completing the job. I have a lot of trees on my property and have had quite a few jobs done in the past by others... Opie's tree service was by far the smoothest and most professional to work with and also had the most affordable pricing. They came out with more than adequate equipment and we're very cautious to not ruin the grass or disrupt any other parts of the yard. I would HIGHLY recommend them.

I want to give a big shout out to Opie's Tree Service for removing 2 dangerous pine trees in our yard (one damaged in the storm last weekend). Gave us an estimate Wednesday & had the job done today (Friday). They did a great job. They were extremely professional & not only did a great job of taking down our trees they also cleaned everything up beautifully. We were so impressed & happy with their work we added more trees to be removed next week. Thanks so much Chris, Roger & the rest of the crew for such a great job!!

Phenomenal job by all members of the crew! I had several very large branches about 70 feet in the air above my house and they were to trim them all and lower them down safely without damaging anything.

They worked diligently and cleaned up after themselves. Very friendly and a pleasure to have had them perform my tree trimming services.

Ray came to my house in between bands of a thunderstorm to provide an estimate. Mike showed up a bit later and they proceeded to quickly remove a 120' tall pine from the roof of my house. These guys are absolute professionals! Great small business that truly cares about their customers. I can't recommend them enough!

I'm very impressed with the service provided by Smithfield Tree Service. They were incredibly fast and reliable! From the moment I called for an estimate to the completion of the job, everything was handled efficiently. The crew arrived on time, worked quickly yet safely, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. I would definitely recommend them for anyone needing tree services. Great job!

Amazing team and great service!! Ray and his team were professional, knowledgeable, honest and did outstanding work. We called for one thing and ended up adding an additional service due to their knowledge, helpfulness and ability to provide services right away. Highly recommend this business and will be using them again in the near future.

Great team, great service! Ray and Mike and the rest of the team dropped 4 dead pines and 2 live ones, all which were a danger to my home and property. I received the estimate on Saturday, and they dropped the trees on Sunday. Great work by some real pros, at a terrific price. Mike is the most skillful and accurate tree feller I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

Called after 6pm because a tree fell across our drive way, blocking our exit. Smithfield Tree Service answered my call abs said they could be there that evening to removed the tree. When they arrived it was 9pm and storming but they STILL took the time to cut the tree away so we could leave for work early the next morning. Highly recommended then for emergency situations and will have them as my first call for future tree services.

Smithfield tree service did an excellent job of removing two trees from my property. They were very professional, fast and gave me a great price. I highly recommend them and will be using their services again.

I cannot say enough about Ray and his team! They did an amazing job! Ray was fair and honest with the pricing. He was quick to respond when I reached out. He came that same day to my house and gave me a free estimate and was willing to work with me on my budget. I could not ask for more! So thankful I found out about Smithfield Tree Service! I highly recommend them to you!

I want to publicly thank Robert Heigl for the outstanding customer service he gave me and my family the past three months he has came out and provided pest control treatment. I could see his passion towards solving my pest issues. Thank you once again to the best exterminator I have encountered from Terminix

Brandon Martin did another outstanding job and he is very thorough with the spray inside and outside…very happy with his work!

Jeffery was very, through, knowable and polite.
He answered my questions and even came up with strategies for the long term benefit of my property. I appreciated his detailed work and friendly personality.
