Contractor reviews in Virginia Beach, Virginia

We used the carpeting, kitchen resurfacing, and vinyl flooring services for a home renovation from this Home Depot and had an excellent experience. However, when we had 2 simple toilets installed, we experienced a nightmare and the store was unwilling to discuss the poor service and damage that was caused from it. The contractors in the flooring and kitchen departments were wonderful. However, the toilet installation utilizes the services of Perez Enterprises and their service was extremely disappointing. Although we only had two basic toilets installed, the whole experience involved the Perez installers coming out multiple times to verify the same issue (the toilets had cracks in it). When they finally felt the toilets were replaced successfully and installed without leaks, we found one was leaking again a few weeks later. I called Home Depot and they contacted Perez to return to the house again. They verified there was another crack in the toilet and would contact Home Depot about options. We didn't hear from anyone for weeks and found that the toilet was never drained and the water wasn't shut off (the house is vacant). Worse, we found a black mold issue on the adjacent wall to the toilet. I called Home Depot and spoke to the woman that handles the plumbing installation and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. All she did was call Perez to tell them to revisit the house. She said they were coming some time that day. When I asked if they mentioned a possible time frame (morning/afternoon), she replied "If you get off the phone with me than maybe you'll find out". Needless to say, Perez never called, or came to the house, and Home Depot never called to follow up if anything has been resolved with our issue. I decided to get Lowes to replace the toilet (which they confirmed had a crack) and have a wonderful experience. They even offered compensation for our issue. If you are planning on dealing with anything related to toilet installation, do NOT go to this Home Depot or use Perez Enterprises.

Would leave less than one star if possible. I ordered built in cabinets for my living room back in July 2025. Initially there were issues with the top shelves being incorrectly measured, which they obviously didn’t fit. That issue took 2 months to fix and several pestering phone calls later I finally got ahold of someone. After finally getting the measurements correct. The new shelves didn’t all match. Some are beveled. Some aren’t. I can’t get them to return a phone call to save my life. I have to imagine that whoever runs their installation services department can’t possibly be qualified or they flat out lied about their ability to get anything done properly. At least answer a phone call. Do yourself a favor. Call Lowe’s if you want anything done correctly.
