HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Unlimited Solar has proven so worthy of their offer. First customer service is responsive, professional, friendly and helpful. They won't blow you off. They explain everything along the way, from start to finish and continually. Second, their product is of excellent quality, looks good and does the job: converts solar energy to electrical power and you don't pay for it; just your electrical bill that actually covers the cost of the solar energy components. And when it does not produce due to rainy or cloudy days, the left overs from over-production cover you then. Third, they do all the installation, check it and maintain it. It all just makes sense, and you save money. There are many other perks, like a monitoring app, tax reliefs and even a lawn sign. I had some reservations at first, but now I am so glad I did it. Unlimited Solar rocks! Attaching a photo of my home. It just looks so good.

When I moved into my home, Dave, the owner of Unlimited Solar, was walking around the neighborhood advertising his products. He hooked me up with a full security system through Unlimited Protection and sold me on going solar. Everything has been prompt and communication has flowed smoothly. He and his team take pride in what they do and are available at any time if you have questions. I would 10/10 recommend this company if you want to go solar.

David Kershaw was my contact at Unlimited Solar -- a local Virginia firm. David was very professional, answered all my questions, and was available both during the installation and afterwards. After the first full month of operation my AEP bill was $10.24! While our electricity usage was low for that month the installation is performing as expected.

I recommend David and his firm unreservedly for solar installations.

I have been doing business with David Kershaw for the last 10 to 15 years and in that time he has always been a very supportive and tried to take care of any issues I have had with security systems and solar systems as quickly and as professionally as he could. I highly recommend David Kershaw for any business deals you may make with him ,he is honest and a very fair businessman. My wife and I have never regretted doing business with David.

Awesome!!! In every way. I already had understanding about the significant savings solar panels bring to the table so when choosing to go solar it was two electing factors. One is the panel quality which Unlimited Solar uses top 10 and two the company installing. And Unlimited Solar met the criteria. Efficient, understanding and courteous. Very Professional and they’re LOCAL!! My experience could have not been better..

1/14/25 - Update. So I have had the Solar panels for a year and a few months. Signed the contract 1 year and a 1/2 ago and this company keeps amazing me. Dave drops by to let me know another way I can save money because of the solar panels. I took 2 months to get around doing it and I couldn't remember everything he told me. I emailed Lindsey to ask questions. She promptly answered my questions. The next thing I know, I get an email from Stacy with the form filled out for me with the exception of a a few spots and where I needed to sign. I mean what? What company does that? Unlimited Solar is that company. She also provided me with all the rest of the paperwork I needed to be able to finish what I needed to do. I honestly cannot say enough about this company. I do wish I could give more than 5 stars. Unlike a lot of companies, they didn't just get the sale and i never heard from them again. They continue to help and provide bonuses and information on having the solar panels and having gone with them for them.

Original Review: So Steve comes to our house and I was ready to send him on his way. He was very patient and listened to the reasons why I said we couldn't do solar and then he let me know those reasons were why we should do solar. So I started asking questions. He had answers for all of them and they were honest and to the point. So we set up a meeting with Dave.

I told Dave he was only getting his foot in the door because of Steve. We talked and he answered everything. He was able to show us data to give us both a short term and long term understanding of what we would be looking at.

Honestly I am very grateful that Steve is the one that come to our door. Between him and Dave we have solar panels and feel good about our choice to work with them. If you are looking to do Solar panels, definitely give these guys a call.

They explained the process and have answered questions and kept us updated through this whole process. Choosing to go solar is a big decision and can be overwhelming without the right company. The install group was great and worked through a VERY hot day to get us installed and ready for inspection!

We've been very pleased with our experience using Unlimited Solar for our home solar power system. Everyone we've dealt with at the company including Dave, Britnie, Lindsey and Jonathon has been helpful, informative and responsive to our needs. They are great at keeping the customer up to date as the project moves along and answering any questions that we may have had. We can say the same for their installation partner, Nexus Energy Systems. Their entire team, from the installers to the office staff were very professional, friendly and efficient. I'd highly recommend Dave and his team at Unlimited Solar to anyone considering a solar power system for their home.

Amazing local company. My installation was done ahead of schedule, and each step of the install was well communicated to me. Very clean installation and exceeded my expectations. From the owner to the installers, everyone was very professional and curtious. Even after the installation, the company continues to ensure we are happy and well taken care of.

Dave and his team did a great job of explaining how our solar energy system would be installed and what to expect once it was operational. The installation team took very good care of our home and property. As of this review our system has been producing electricity for seven months, and over that term we are nearing the “net-zero” mark for usage. Because it was installed in late summer, we knew it would take a while before our electricity usage was consistently less than panel array output. Over the past four weeks the system’s output has exceeded our usage by nearly 125 kWh per week, a pace consistent with moderate temperatures and increased daylight hours. I was somewhat skeptical of solar energy prior to meeting with Dave, but he did a super job of explaining the benefits and I’m now convinced it was a good move. If you’re considering a solar panel installation, I would recommend Unlimited Solar.

I'm sure that over the past few years, we have all seen different solar panel providers coming to our doors to try and get us to go solar. That happened with me. The first one that came out was from Ion Solar, but I wasn't as thrilled about them. They were too pushy, and they are also a national company, so they won't necessarily be tied to our area for years to come.

Fast forward a little over a year later. One afternoon, I had two salespeople come to my door asking about my interest in solar. I had been interested at that time, so I talked with them. They were from Unlimited Solar. I did hear them out, and even though I was interested, the cost estimate was a bit of a shock, so I didn’t pull the trigger on the project at that time. They asked if I was willing to have a sit down with them to go over more of the details, and I took them up on it, and it was scheduled for the following day. They didn’t come the following day, but instead, the VP of Sales, Ray Kindley came instead. We had a great conversation that day, and in the end, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on going solar (this was around the end of April 2022). They work with GoodLeap for financing, and I was able to get a very low rate of 1.99%. When I asked about the power bank, he said it would add an additional 3 to 6 months for the approval process. Instead, he offered me a gas/propane generator instead at no added cost.

It takes a while once the process gets started. The first step is that they have an inspection of the electrical panel, roof, and such to make sure it can be supported. Then, a site survey is conducted, so they use that to get plans drawn up to be approved by the city. The next steps are the longest parts of the process, as it comes to getting all the various approvals to do the solar install (city, electric company, and so on). During this process, Ray and his staff at Unlimited Solar kept me in the loop on the progression through the process.

As the fall season came, it was finally time to have the solar panels installed. The installation occurred on August 16, 2022. They were very thorough throughout the installation. They were aware of keeping things safe as they worked on it. There were a few times I had to go out for something, and they were really good about making sure everyone was safe when coming or going. The installation itself only took the one day. They did come back a few weeks later to take care of a few other things before the final inspections would take place. After that was completed, it was just a waiting game again for those final approvals from the city and Dominion Energy (including a meter change to track energy in and energy back out to the grid). At the beginning of October, the panels were turned on, but not sent to the grid until a week or so later when the final approval from Dominion Energy came through.

I know a big question for everyone is how has going solar affected my electric bill. I wanted to share what it would have been like December through February (meteorological winter) since that is the time for the least amount of sunlight. Setting the same usage from 2022 and applying it to 2021 to give an apples-to-apples comparison. On average, if Dec 2021 – Feb 2022 had the same energy usage as Dec 2022 – Feb 2023, the average monthly costs were $86.75 and $44.14 respectively, which equates to an average of a 49% decrease in the electric bill.

Overall, I am glad that I went solar. I am already seeing the returns in the sense that the electric bill is much lower now, and that when I pay the monthly financing payment along with that electric bill, the total amount is still lower than what I was paying for electricity before going solar. If you are thinking about or looking into doing solar on your home, I would totally take that a serious consideration. They are very open and transparent. If you do, make sure to reach out to Ray Kindley and Unlimited Solar as I highly recommend them. It’s great to be able to work with a company that is local.
