I am the treasurer for Medical Lake cemetery Association, located in Medical Lake Washington. Matt has done several projects for us, at the cemetery. Most of the time, he will not accept $ for us, except for covering, his out of pocket costs. He is reliable, honest, dependable, knowledgeable, and very community oriented. He goes above and beyond! We are very proud to have him, here in our small town. I undoubtedly give him 5 stars! And 100% rating! Thanks matt for all you do!

Background:

We live in the country surrounded by Fir and Ponderosa pine trees, near our home and outbuildings. At the suggestions of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) we have mitigated our fire exposure by cleaning up the nearby fire fuel thirty feet from our home and other buildings. After we did this clearing away of fuel near our structures, we asked DNR what our next steps should be.

DNR came out again and noticed some of our fir trees were dying in the outlying areas.

We had those cut and all of the brush put into slash piles to be burned this winter.

The final part of these efforts to protect the home and other buildings was to masticate areas farther out from us to reduce ladder fuels, provide defensible space around our home, and for firefighters in the event of a wildfire.

Since we didn’t know anything about this phase of protecting our home, we asked DNR for their suggestions. They had several pages of contractors who could do the job.

Fortunately, we chose Dirt Worx Land Management Inc. to do the work.

The first call to them was answered promptly by Matt, the owner, in a professional and friendly manner. After telling him what DNR told us we needed to do about the wider area he said he would come out and look at the job. He was here within two days.

When he showed up the impression he made convinced both my wife and I that he was the one we wanted to do the job. He was neatly dressed, his truck was spotless, and his knowledge of what needed to be accomplished was clearly evident.

After he looked the place over, he gave us an estimate and a time was set for him to do the job.

At the time agreed upon he was here, with his equipment, promptly at 0800 ready to go. He explained to his employee, Izzy, what needed to be done and the work began.

Izzy was careful but efficient with the machine. When he left the first day, the place looked like the beginning of a golf course. The next day he finished up by weed whacking the remaining brush the masticator could not do because of the close proximity to the buildings.

We are more than satisfied with the work these men did for us and would highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of work.

We use Dirt Worx whenever we can and I can't recommend them enough. Matt is great at what he does, he is trustworthy, honest, and a great member of the community. Don't be afraid to call Matt with whatever project you have.

I reached out to them to try and get recommendations for tractor repairs after trying several others that didn't have availability or didn't call back. Turns out this is a service offered by Matt. He was quick, had great communication, and got the job done for a reasonable price. In less than a day he got done what we had been trying to find someone to do for months.

4.7 acres of fuel reduction for wildfire control in two days., fast, efficient, good value, and did a really good job. Matt is a super communicater making sure you know what is happening and when. Very pleased. Also got the 6 cubic yards of aged wood chips I needed for mulch.

Matt is one of those contractors you want to selfishly hold onto for yourself. Great experience from start to finish! Responsive, professional, friendly, easy to work with, and most of all very good at what he does. Gets a lot of quality work done in a amazingly short span of time.

Matt did a fantastic job cleaning up our property to make it meet the NFPA Firewise program requirements. When he arrived we walked the property and discussed the requirements. Last year he worked with our neighbor and was fully cognizant of the Firewise requirements plus those of our HOA. We reviewed the results when he was done and could not be happier. Our home was lost in the Medical Lake Gray Rd fire. I met with Matt and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was communicative during the whole process and his crew was very quick with site prep and removing all the debris from our burned down home. I called Matt with a real emergency. We had a hay stack fire that was fully engulfed. Using water is counter productive as it only prolongs the agony. The only way to combat a hay stack fire is to let it burn as fast and as safely possible. Taring it apart accelerates the process rapidly. Matt put his loader to work for the better part of 12 hrs. Knocking it down, spreading it out, waiting, and repeating the process. By 8 pm, he had successfully reduced the 275 ton pile of biomass to a manageable pile of ashes. Saved us five or six days. By 7:30 the next morning we tilled the remnants into the soil and it was completely extinguished. Matt's willingness to accommodate our emergency saved myself and Fire District 3 days of our resources being committed. And let's be real. It takes some intestinal fortitude to drive a perfectly good piece of equipment into an inferno. I can honestly recommend Matt for whatever anyone needs. Thanks again.
