I recently had Emerald City Construction complete a significant addition to my home, which included two new rooms and a bathroom. From the initial consultation to the final touches, I was incredibly impressed with their professionalism, expertise, and commitment to quality.
The scope of the project was quite extensive, and I had some specific ideas about the layout and finishes. They listened carefully to my needs and offered valuable suggestions that ultimately improved the design. They were patient and understanding throughout the entire process, addressing all my questions and concerns promptly.
They didn't cut corners, and the craftsmanship was exceptional. The team was meticulous in their work, ensuring that every aspect of the project was completed to the highest standard. They also kept the work site clean and organized, which I greatly appreciated.
If someone is on the fence about working with Emerald City Construction, I would tell them to absolutely go for it! They are a trustworthy and reliable company that delivers outstanding results. Their communication is excellent, their team is skilled and courteous, and their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in everything they do. I am happy with the outcome of my home addition and would not hesitate to recommend Emerald City Construction to anyone looking for a top-notch contractor. -
Emerald City did an awesome job with our recent addition project on our home in Sammamish. Eric, Dmitry and the whole team were great to work. Highly recommended!

The Emerald city team helped renovate our kitchen when we first moved in 2 years ago. This included floor tiling, counter, cabinets tear down and rebuild. We have been very happy with the work and 2 years later looks and feels like new. Dmitry and Viktor were super professional, clear and precise about the scope of work. The price quoted was reasonable and more importantly ended up exactly on budget and on schedule without any delays. There was clarity on what finishes were included vs extra, ability to browse, choose and select the finishes for the counters and tiles at the suppliers.
We needed to setup a new gas line and they were able to seamlessly subcontract that and get it coordinated on time. They were very flexible in working with the appliance installs and helped reroute the plumbing to what we needed to relocate the dishwasher.
Dmitry and Viktor were a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to seek their expertise again. -
Emerald City just completed a full kitchen remodel for me, taking a tired old kitchen and unused dining room down to the studs and creating a wonderful kitchen, pantry and coffee bar in their place.
The start of the process was to introduce me to an excellent designer to take my initial ideas and turn them into a polished design, then they brought in a structural engineer to ensure that the changes we need to make to a shear wall were acceptable.
Once the design was in place they presented a clear breakdown of what the costs would be and then allowed me to revise things such as cabinet finishes in an exercise Dmitry called "cost engineering" :). Their final costing was what I exactly what I paid, except for a few thousand to deal with all the services we found in a wall that none of us expected to find. This hiccup was dealt with professionally and with clear communication.
Highly recommended - very easy to work with and they have a definite commitment to craftsmanship.
Many thanks to Eric, Dmitry and Jonathan for all their work and to Jennifier at Drift-IA for the design! -
Emerald City Construction recently completed a full condo remodel for us. They were a dream to work with from start to finish, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. If you are looking for a professional, timely, communicative contractor for your project, we absolutely recommend them.
Project Overview:
We started the process in late 2019, and worked with them in initial stages to determine scope of the project and secure an estimate for the project. Our condo is about 40 years old and the layout and most of the finishes were still original, and it really looked it. So we started interviewing contractors to find a good fit, and scheduled a meeting with Emerald City Construction.
We were immediately impressed with Dmitry. He was very communicative and called out some options that we could consider with the remodel that we hadn’t even considered. For example, we had a drop ceiling in the kitchen and assumed that it was for ducting or something; but he speculated that it might have just been a way for the original builders to save money on cabinetry by using shorter cabinets. He said that they could explore removing that, and it looks amazing now that the living room and kitchen have one consistent ceiling. This is just one example, but having Dmitry’s expertise in this area was extremely helpful in deciding our final design plan.
They started the demolition in mid January and finished up the project in mid April even with several roadblocks like a snowstorm and COVID-19. Viktor and his crew were fantastic throughout and did a great job on finishing touches so that everything looks professional and accurate. That’s something we’d never have been able to achieve on our own. These guys really know what they are doing and it shows.
Budget:
They were toward the upper middle range of bids that came in for our project, and we chose them because we felt their estimate was thorough enough for us to get the financing we needed (and could qualify for) and still have a small cushion for any unknowns.
They were conscious of our budget, and really worked with us to find solutions that met our needs and aesthetic preferences within that amount. It’s always risky when you start opening up walls and stuff to know what things are going to look like, so I’m incredibly thankful that they were clear about things in their estimate and invoices so that we could keep track and make sure that we stayed within our range.
Example of Issue Resolution:
Dmitry was great about working with our HOA on a couple of issues where we needed to inform them of changes and/or get approval. Like all big projects of this type, we ran into one issue when removing an interior, non-load-bearing wall that temporarily affected the downstairs neighbor’s DSL connection, but Dmitry had a specialist come in and fix it immediately to limit impact to her. It meant a lot to us to know that they were so on top of things and cared not only about us, but our neighbors, too.
Final Thoughts:
Emerald City Construction is a great company to work with for projects. We have no hesitation recommending them. This was the first time we had gone through something this big, and they led us through the process on time and on budget. They helped us refresh our whole home and make it work so much better for us going forward. We’re incredibly thankful for their hard work and attention to detail. Thank you Dmitry, Viktor, and everyone at Emerald City Construction for helping us make our existing home into our dream home. -
Emerald City remodeled our master bath down to studs, all new doors & trim throughout the house, new fireplace surrounds (x2), new stair railings, new chandeliers, kitchen backsplash, full interior paint, and entertainment center cabinets/shelving in the Summer of 2021.
We interviewed and got quotes from three contractors and ultimately went with Emerald City who had a competitive bid. In the bid, we specifically liked that Dmitry itemized all of the work by category - other contractors did much less breakout on the bid. This really helped with understanding what we were paying for when the work was completed.
What really shined throughout the entire project from bidding to punch list was Dmitry and Viktor's open communication - they were always on the ball to respond with questions and provide updates. The whole team was simply fun to work with and the final result exceeded our expectations.
We ended up adding quite a bit more scope than the initial bid after the project started. The change/add-order process was straight forward and pricing was fair.
The biggest hiccup was the paint crew had to be swapped out when the original sub realized how big the project was and said it would take them a lot longer than expected. That caused us some panic, but Viktor found a new paint crew pretty quickly that did a fantastic job with only slight delay to the overall schedule.
Overall the project took a bit longer than expected - primarily because we added scope - but the finished result was better than we could have imagined.
I highly recommend hiring Emerald City! -
We couldn’t be happier with the projects that we worked on with Dmitri , Johnathan and team. We referred by friends and would recommend to anyone looking for a home reno, exterior project and more. Great combination of fair pricing, thoughtful planning, communication, execution and warranty.

Emerald City Construction did a fantastic job on our remodel. Dmitry, Victor, Eric, Alena, and the rest of their team exceeded our expectations. They performed a major gut renovation of our main level of our 1917 home. Scope included permitting, complete design build including architecture design, replacement of all plumbing and electrical, interior finishes design, demo down to studs, moving bathroom to different location, vaulting ceiling, replacing subfloor and repairing joists, and unexpected structural improvements. The project construction ended up being 9 months and during that time their communication was fantastic; every email, text, and phone call was returned promptly. They granted each and every request of ours pre-, post- and during construction without argument and explained every step of the process and even construction methods used. They checked in several times toward the end of the project to ensure we were 100% happy with the project and their work met our expectations. The design build contract made billing super easy as there were no unexpected costs during construction so the project stayed within budget (which was incredibly reasonable considering the scope of our project). I hope to hire them again in the future for any construction/remodel/new build projects we might have in our future and would highly recommend them to others.

We hired Emerald City Construction in March of 2022 and they were off and running in September of 2022. We had been researching contractors for our potential addition since 2019. Out of all the GCs we interviewed, we kept on coming back to ECC and man, we are sure glad we went with them!
They helped us secure a very competent and reliable architect to help our dreams come to life. We added a 600 square foot addition onto our existing home that provided our family with a Master bedroom + bathroom, a new laundry room, an additional bedroom and 600 feet of crawl space for storage under the new addition.
Working with our architect and Alena (in house interior designer) we were able to come up with something that fit into the somewhat tight budget we had. They worked with us every step of the way to make sure we didn’t go over our budget finding innovative solutions to help make everything work. They do a lot of the work themselves which helps cut down on costs to us and all the subcontractors they hired were excellent, and perfectionists like the Emerald City team. They kept within our budget and there weren’t any surprise costs/fees at any point in time.
I cannot say enough good things about Dmitry, Eric & the rest of the team. They were truly partners throughout this whole project; super responsive, understanding and willing to find innovative, yet costly solutions to meet our needs. We have heard about SO many nightmares about GCs and are so fortunate to find a company/team that truly cares about the customer and will do anything to make sure everything is up to par no matter the size of the project. We will definitely be hiring them for any other home remodel project we are planning.
If you are on the fence about that dreaded home renovation, you will not be disappointed if you choose to work with Emerald City Construction! -
We had Emerald City Construction remodel our entire home(3,500 sq ft.), obviously there is a lot of thought and details that go into remodeling and Dmitry’s crew had all the support. Everything was communicated clearly. For sure…I had concerns and plans I wanted to change and they never made me feel like I was being difficult or it was too late. The project was completed in a timely manner and I have now been in my home for almost a year and the quality is solid for my family of four. I feel we had built a long lasting relationship with Dmitry, Eric and Alena and my future projects will be reserved with this team.

I really value efficiency, communication, and quality — and Emerald City Construction delivered on all three. The team was organized, transparent about costs, and stuck to the project timeline. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding, and the finished remodel completely transformed my space. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend.

Emerald City Construction created a beautiful home for our family and we couldn't be happier. They completed an entire gut/remodel and a master suite addition for us *on schedule*. They worked with us to stay within our budget, and were supportive with tweaks and changes along the way.
From the moment we called and spoke with Dmitry, we felt well taken care of. They provided excellent design and procurement services and always kept in mind what our particular needs were. Jonathon is an incredible project manager, and always responded to our calls and texts. We needed a lot of approvals with the city and our HOA, and they handled it all. Even though our project is complete, they continue to be available should something come up as we settle in to our new home. We love them! -
Emerald City Construction handled a major remodel for us: full basement gut and rebuild, full kitchen gut, reworking the dining room, and converting our garage into a fully finished office. It was a big, complicated project, and the end result is beyond what we could've even imagined. The quality of their work is the kind you notice every day when you live in the finished space.
Two people deserve specific mention: Eric and Dmitry. Their communication throughout the project was consistent, clear, and steady. Whenever something needed a decision, clarification, or adjustment, they were on it quickly and never left us guessing. That level of communication made a long renovation feel manageable, and we feel so lucky to have had them leading up the project.
As with any major remodel, the project wasn’t inexpensive, and the timeline went long, but both were in line with what you’d expect for the level of detail and finish we wanted. In the end, the workmanship really does justify the cost and the time!
Issues and changes came up, as they always do in older homes, but they were handled professionally and without pushback.
We’re very happy with the outcome and so happy we found ECC. Hopefully we're done with reno work for a long time, but if not, we'll be choosing ECC again in a heartbeat. -
We worked with Dmitry and the Emerald City Construction team to renovate two major spaces in our 1920s Seattle craftsman: an outdated kitchen (much needed, as you can see from the before photo) and a basement build-out (including a new bathroom, laundry, and living space). Everyone was collaborative from start to finish, and with updating the house on our minds again, we wanted to recap our experience for anyone else considering their own home renovations now!
Dmitry kept us updated through every stage of the process, from initial scoping and mid-project adjustments to the final walkthroughs. Even before work began, he helped us think through how to phase our projects based on what we needed in the moment vs. what we might want in the future. After the work wrapped, he stayed in touch for warranty touch-ups and even helped us spitball ideas for potential next updates.
Eric was our main on-site contractor and always made time to talk through decisions, no matter how many questions we had (and we had a lot — sorry, Eric!), whether it was about framing timelines or something as specific as outlet placements. On the design side, Alena guided us through everything from the big-picture layout to aesthetic details like mixed-metal hardware and lighting. She was always flexible when we wanted to explore options and gave us thoughtful recommendations and visual references that helped us feel sure and happy about our final choices.
We also appreciated the extended crew and ECC partners who helped bring everything together. A big shoutout to Timothy from European Custom Cabinets in Arlington for the beautiful cabinetry in both our kitchen and laundry, Nikita from the site crew for all the demo and prep work, and everyone else who had a hand in making our space feel like home. Thanks again, ECC! -
They did my business remodel and were great to work with. They are a well organized, professional, construction company.

Jason is wonderful to work with! He is very responsive and goes above and beyond to help out any way he can! Thank you Jason!

Whoever drives for these companies are terrible! Literally almost hit me on the freeway along with a few other cars, tried to cut people off driving traffic hour would not recommend them just because of this experience!
-
Deacon Construction is a business of integrity. I had a minor issue that they addressed with professionalism when they could have walked away instead. Tim Aguiar and Jared Lamb in particular were helpful and communicated effectively and in a timely manner. The whole transaction was pleasant.

The employees that drive around the Eastside for this company have decided that they no longer need to stop at stop signs, stop at red lights, slow down in school zones, or stop when there is pedestrians actively in the crosswalk.
Please do not use this company. They are going to seriously injure or kill people. -
Their employees drive their blue f-150 very recklessly. They are going to get someone killed.

driving recklessly on the road cutting people up and raging at people merging. if they arent good people on the road i doubt they are good people in their business
