Great company. Great employees. Great new furnace and thermostat.
Thanks so much to the following employees who helped me go from very old non working non efficient furnace and freezing home to nice new efficient furnace and warm cozy home.
Travis (Technician), Michael (Comfort Advisor/Sales), Lydan and Logan (Installers) and Deb and Daniel (Electricians). This group of individuals made the stressful situation of losing my heating system into an easy to fix condition. They were all professional and very kind. I felt like they treated me as they would a family member. It was also nice to see how well they worked together as a team.
I'd highly recommend them to family and friends! -
Jimmy came by and did a tune up for my furnace. He did an excellent job and had an upbeat attitude. He was communicative and took pictures of everything that he checked and cleaned. He also left an extra filter for me to use when I need to change out my current filter. I’m really happy with his service and I appreciate the job AAA has done throughout the years. Definitely an A plus company with folks like Jimmy on their team. Thank you!

I used AAA Heating and Air Conditioning for cleaning/maintenance of my gas furnace and later the replacement of the gas furnace plus a brand new modular heatpump. The installation of the new furnace and heatpump occurred in November of 2021.
It's hard to rate this place exactly, as the equipment seems to function, but having a few months to test everything and reflect back on what was done it's left a sour memory and I regret having any of the HVAC work done, especially considering the price paid.
In 2021 I had them service my 22 year old 80% efficient gas furnace and they found the heat exchanger showing signs of rust. In order to be proactive I decided to go ahead and replace the furnace with a new one (also 80% efficiency) along with adding a modular electric heatpump to provide A/C in the summer and more efficient heating when needed.
During the installation process a few things occurred that I've decided to make public here, as I feel these should have had better response at the time of installation.
1) Prior to installing the lines between the heatpump and furnace we discussed running them under the roof of our garage on a specific side of the storage area. This is because we have a specific access point we use to reach our garage storage (platform above the cars).
I left them to their work, but came back to find out they put the lines on the exact opposite side we had discussed. This now blocks the access point we use to get to the storage. This has become quite an inconvenience over time.
2) While installing the lines between the heatpump and the furnace they broke one of the horizontal support beams that supports the roof of our garage (see pics). To their credit, they came out and 'fixed' it by bolting a board to the side/area where the other one broke. However, multiple times I asked if they could provide something that states their repair would pass an inspection or even any paperwork that shows they did the repair at all. Despite requesting this information, they have never sent it. I have NO idea if their repair will pass an inspection and I have no proof they are the ones who did the repair (no paperwork at all). When I spoke with my family member who works in lumber/housing, he said they should have attached a board of the same length to the broken one, not attached a shorter one the way they installed it. I fear this may be a problem in the future and may prevent a sale of our house. I'm afraid this may end up in a legal/lawyer situation in the future. Their 'fix' was never inspected by a licensed roofer or city/county inspector.
3) After installation I discovered they installed the drain for the A/C by punching a hole through the wall of my garage, through my siding, and left it draining right in front of the steps to my front porch (see pic). The location of the drain was never discussed and they never asked permissions to cut a hole in the wall of my house. I only noticed this recently since we didn't get to use the A/C until just the past month or two.
The draining water is causing damage to the siding itself, the water collects on the siding and the siding is becoming soft. It's also draining directly into the space between the concrete slab and our foundation which I fear will causing issues in the longterm. Also, the drain is creating a large slippery surface right in front of the steps leading to our porch and front door. This is a very real safety hazard. I'm surprised they installed it there without any concern.
4) Before and during the process of picking out a furnace and heatpump I was assured that most customers see about a 20% drop in energy use as a result of newer and more efficient equipment. However, immediately after everything was installed we've seen a 15% increase in energy usage. I've had them come out and confirm everything is installed correctly, but I have a hard time believing that a modular heatpump + brand new 80% efficient gas furnace is 15% less efficient than our 22 year old 80% efficient gas furnace. -
We have been AAA customers since 2021 and have subscribed to their monthly membership for our primary residence. Over the years, we’ve completed several annual maintenance and improvement projects with them—such as whole-house insulation and HVAC condensation pump replacement—and had been very satisfied with both their service and technical expertise.
Unfortunately, our recent experience has been disappointing. We were quoted $1,300 before tax for a whole-house surge protector that I later discovered retails for around $195 at Home Depot. The installation took less than 30 minutes. I’ve since called multiple times trying to speak with a manager to better understand the pricing. Each time, I was told a note had been left and someone would follow up, but no one ever did.
As long-time customers, we expected better transparency and accountability. Sadly, we will cancel our membership and seek a more trustworthy vendor with fairer pricing. We understand that businesses need to make a profit—but it should always remain within reason, especially when dealing with loyal customers. -
I've been using AAA for about 5 years and had great and reliable maintenance service until about 1-1.5 years ago. I used to be able to schedule my maintenance appointments with a two hour window, and the technician would should up on time. The last three appointments I've only been able to get an 8 hour window and nobody has shown up on the day of the appointment. I have had to call the office at 4pm and ask when somebody will show up and they tell me my appointment got pushed out due to other calls (yet nobody called me to inform me). I'm not sure if this is because of the merger but the service is becoming worse than Comcast. While the technicians have always been helpful and informative, I will most likely find another company to service my HVAC after my next appointment.

We were fortunate to have two amazing installers, Isaac and Lydan, who worked on replacing our heat pump and furnace. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring all our new systems were working as designed. They didn’t miss a beat - even after 12 hours! I highly recommend AAA and Lydan and Issac as installers. The entire crew at AAA has been outstanding - year after year! Sunny our maintenance tech provided a thorough review of our systems, was professional and really Informative as to the possible issues. The quality of the work is exceptional.

Don't like the automated scheduling over the phone. Was automatically scheduled without having a chance to discuss fee. Taking my business elsewhere.

AAA Heating & Air Conditioning provided fast, reliable service with friendly technicians and fair pricing. Their professionalism and efficiency truly exceeded expectations.

We had AAA Heating and Air install a new furnace and heat pump into the house we are reconstructing on Mercer Island. Because it is a complicated project there were some coordination issues along the way which ended up with a few loose ends to wrap up prior to cover up.
AAA sent out their lead ducting specialist, Drew Fisk, and he custom fabricated several pieces which we needed so the register covers could be properly placed over the drywall, and he even stayed late to complete the work and was sure to have me put eyes on everything to make sure I was happy.
The staff at AAA has been pleasant and communicative but the five stars are for Drew.
Total professional!

I would like to express my appreciation to AAA heating and air conditioning company. Starting with the sales person, Michael Wachtler. He is respectful, knowledgeable, Listens to your needs and recommends the best product for your home. He is a straight shooter. And I also would like to give gratitude and appreciation to Southwest plumbing guys, Oswaldo Valdez-Hernandez and his friend including the electrician Abraham Marshall. I was really impressed with their professionalism, respect and impeccable customer service. Thank you to all. I will definitely recommend to my Family, friends and others

Maintenance is a critical element of ensuring your HVAC system works properly and lasts for a long time.
For the past several years, I have had another company that rhymes with 'deacon' out to maintain my system. Every year, we do whatever they recommend to ensure it is in tip-top shape.
So it came as a bit of a shock when it stopped working in late June (right when we were hitting 85 and 90 degree days).
I have had that same company out for various jobs (plumbing, etc) with mixed results. Sometimes, I felt fine. Other times, I wondered if they were trying to sell me things I did not need.
So, I decided to look for the top rated HVAC company and have them inspect the system. Corey came out to see if it could be repaired, and within 1 min, he noticed two things that were very disturbing:
1. He put a level on the system and noticed it was clearly not level (leaning both right and back).
Corey explained that this causes the system to work much harder than necessary to push lubrication to the high side, which wears put the system faster.
2. The caps on the high and low side AC ports on the system were completely missing. These prevent coolant from leaking out of the system.
When checked, the coolant was almost entirely gone. The system was fried.
Corey provided me a range of options - least to most expensive and the pros/cons ranging from about $10K, up to $23K).
NOTE: I had done a little homework before he came, and he confirmed what I had read online; 410a systems are going away in 2024. Come Jan 1 2025, new refrigerant is being used, and the new systems cost 35-45% MORE than the systems you can buy today!!
So, in a way, the timing was a blessing; we chose the top of the line Daikin system.
Why?
Every other manufacturer plans obscolecence into their systems. Daikin systems are designed to last 30 years or more.
I signed the paperwork, and within 24 hours, Binh came out along with Bryan and Murad from As You Wish Electric to install our system. System installed the next day, however, there was a small challenge in that the system was not switching to AC.
That evening Brett came out to diagnose the problem (turns out it was something odd with how our old wiring was setup). Brett sent Nick out the next morning who was able to fix the issue.
We love the new system - much quieter, uses less energy and even has a handy app where you can control all aspects of your system.
I should highlight that AAA also offers 0% 12 month financing, to ease the burden of paying for the system.
I was impressed by the consistency and professionalism of the entire AAA team. Would not have anyone else work on our HVAC in the future. -
Besides the positive perk of same day availability to come for a diagnosis for my furnace, the quote was completely overpriced. The reasonable diagnostic price is a way to get overcharged for HVAC problems and labor that's unreasonable.
My problem is that my furnace wouldn't turn on and I was told my gas valve needed to be replaced. They quoted me $1600 for the parts and labor. Luckily after declining the service due to price, I went on Youtube to see what I could do myself first. The gas valve was only $117 and seemed easy to replace but then I found an even easier and cheaper solution.
Long story short, I researched a lot on Youtube and it said to clean the flame sensor in my furnace with a dollar bill or steel brush and see if it would help my furnace turn on. IT DID! I ended up fixing my furnace with a nut driver and a dollar bill. -
From the start of our initial service call to the installation AAA was incredibly professional, personable and courteous. Taylor the tech guy was very friendly and knowledgeable and not only explained the issues we were having but showed exactly why and how the issue originated. He made us feel comfortable with an uncomfortable reality, our 20+ year old AC and furnace needed replacing. Next came Jerome who couldn’t have been more professional and friendly. He walked us through the whole process, did an assessment and explained all the different options depending on our price point and needs. We never felt pressured or pushed into any particular direction. Two days after Taylor’s initial visit and Jerome’s assessment we had Binh and his team arrive exactly on time for the install. This couldn’t have went smoother as Binh was highly skilled and had all the supplies and help he needed to complete the job that afternoon, we couldn’t be more pleased. Still shocked by how quickly everything was analyzed, scoped and installed, I can’t recommend AAA highly enough, we are customers for life.

Robert the owner of the company very helpful and trustworthy. We installed a new furnace very reasonable price. He is not taking advantage to the seniors but he is helping them. His crew that installed very knowledgeable .

Hi, I don't like leaving one star reviews but this was a horrible experience. I've used AAA/Southwest numerous times before, including a heater replacement in one of our homes. One of our homes that my parents live in needs a new heater. I called AAA to have someone come out for an estimate and was told it was okay if my dad was there since I'm working. He received a call from Cynthia in dispatch, from Southwest Heating, who said I needed to be there. She said if I'm not there they can't come out, even though I gave my dad permission to speak to the tech. I tried calling back, left a voicemail for her, responded to the text but never heard back for over an hour. I called the regular number and the appointment was canceled. I guess you need me there to talk about the heater but you don't need to let me know when you cancel an appointment?
The following day, we decided to try again. My wife called to set up an appointment and confirmed with whom she spoke with that indeed, anyone over 18 can be home and the home owner not needed to be present. The tech showed up, told my father he can’t proceed if the home owner isn’t there. The tech called dispatch to confirm. I called back, asked what happened, I spoke with a lady who apologized and said sorry, and that she’ll call the tech and get the estimate done. Half hour later, dispatch texted me to call so I did. Spoke with someone who said that I needed to be there. I said this makes no sense since the day before I was told that wasn’t necessary, my wife this morning was told that wasn’t necessary, and when I called back this day was told not necessary. I even said they fixed the heater last winter without me being there. All I needed was an estimate for a new furnace. Nothing further. And they couldn’t provide that. A lot of miscommunication within the company and a lot of my time wasted. I’ve been a repeat customer and with three homes, you think they would care about return business as we’ve done a few services with them before, but no longer recommended. The four other companies that we got estimates for a new furnace with, I did not need to be there. They still spoke with my father and provided me with detailed estimates. -
I have been a long term customer for over ten years and have to say the service is going downhill lately. The technician they sent last time was nice but not very experienced. I felt she was answering my questions from something out of a handbook she just studied and memorized without getting to the actual point. She even tried to sell me something I have already had and was also installed by AAA. Besides, their new scheduling system sucks that they would only give a whole day window. I received multiple phone calls starting from 9 am telling me I am the next but when the time they actually were going to send someone my way was already late afternoon. The lady on the phone was nice enough to reschedule me to a day in the morning with a 2 hours window. I hope they can consider bringing back their old way of doing business.
