Walt's is amazing. We purchase from their store and contract with them for landscaping at a commercial property. Both are amazing. Walt is one of those people that give me hope for humanity. His kindness inspires me.

The absolute best shade grass seed. Honestly, we tore up our yard, reseeded with Walt's shade mix and in 6 weeks the grass looks phenomenal. We have a very shaded backyard and the growth we've seen is unbelievable.

I purchased some Worm Castings for my 130 Gallon Planted Fish Tank and the plants are doing so well they are growing past the top of the tank. When I came to the store the staff was very helpful and made sure all my questions were answered. I would highly recommend this place!!!

They were incredibly helpful through the entire process of planning our first garden. Even when we came in unsure about the area of our garden, she helped us to figure it out. Likewise, she directed us to other places for soil that was closer to us. Moreover, she advised us extensively on how and when to plant our greens, seeds, chives, and other stuff. I highly recommend this place.

    Friendly knowledgeable, awesome.
I went to Walt's organic fertilizer store hoping to find his old formula but I picked up what they recommended my friend recommended me to go here. I'm glad I checked it out. I'll be back next year for my spring, summer crops.

My sister told me about this place and it was truly wonderful. A family owns and runs this business and they have tons of knowledge and wonderful fertilizers, plants and more! This is our new favorite gardening store and we will be going back again soon!

Friendly and dependable service. They show up on time and perform their work efficiently. Walt brought our grass back to life. They sell top rate seeds. Definitely recommend their landscaping services for your home or business.

Excellent service and selection! They are one of the few places that carry the worm tea concentrate that my plants love but I always end up leaving with something else, whether it be plants, amendments, tools or knick knacks! I just got a 6' fig tree for my mom when I went to restock my worm tea...

    What an awesome place.

They've got every kind of organic soil amendment (fish meal, shells, alfalfa pellets, etc.), locally sourced where reasonable, and local open pollinated seeds (Deep Harvest, Uprising).

The clerk was knowledgeable, patient, and helped me feel more confident about my veggie and flower garden.

Walt's is absolutely amazing. When Seattle Organic Garden wanted to go "organic" I started to hang out here and get good seed and advice and now we are 100%. well...95% organic.

Great place, great team that will tell you what to plant and when to plant them. I am growing lettuce right now in March!

Walt's is the absolute best place to buy soil for your garden. There is no comparison between the high level of quality of the products they carry and the normal stuff you find at nurseries. Everything I planted in the soil from Walt's has done spectacularly, and they will formulate custom blends based on your planting and nutrient needs.

They also always have a smaller, but well-picked selection of plants that work well in Seattle. You can also find seeds, supplies, tools, and nutrients here.

The people who work here are incredibly nice and there's always great conversation whenever we stop by.

Also, bring your dog! They love seeing dogs there and all the organic smells will keep your pupper super interested/happy.

Great resource for our small organic farm. Thank you Walt's!

Cute shop but I found the woman at the counter rude so I left without the plant I wanted. Wasn't worth interacting with her again to get it.

Walt was great - highly recommend!
I live in Colorado and needed oyster shell flour for a Bocce court and couldn’t find it locally. Through a google search I found that Walt carried the product I needed - I called him on a Saturday and he shipped 15 boxes that same day and they arrived in only three days. Walt was very professional and responsive.

Fantastic place. Can't believe Google didn't bring them up when searching for local nurseries. Great selection of VERY reasonably priced plants on par with even big box stores. Extremely helpful staff. I'm looking forward to navigating this growing season with them.

Very cute mom and pop plant shop! The staff were knowledgeable and helped me solve an aphid problem, they had an order of lacewings coming in the following day and even gave me a call to let me know when they were ready for pick up! The shop is very clean with a great selection of garden tools, native plants and flowers!

I work at a preschool nearby and absolutely love to wander around Walt's during my break.
I've bought air plants, indoor plants, native plants, and outdoor plants (both decorative and edibles) and all have been healthy!
The employees are always very helpful and friendly. They even help me find plants that are safe for my classroom and my pets at home. :)

I just bought *a lot* of soil from Walt's today, and they helped me figure out how much I'd need (and what types).

Walt's came out yesterday and decimated our yard.

We've used them for more than 7 years now. They do not come on a schedule. Sometimes, it's months between visits. Other times, it's weeks. Once, it was days. I was mostly okay with that, but the past couple of years, they got very inconsistent. VERY.

But yesterday was the last straw.

The star jasmine that was 4 feet across and three feet high? It's now a stump with one trailing vine on a lattice.
The rosemary bushes which were easily the size of VERY LARGE dogs? Now they're barely 6 inches wide and maybe a foot tall. Guess we won't be using THOSE to cook with anymore for a good year.

Same with the lavender. The sage is practically gone. The roses were pruned YESTERDAY down to almost nothing.

They took at least 6 very large branches off of the rhodie in our front yard. The rhodie that was already budding and about to bloom.

Every single plant or bush we have on our property is now a shadow of its former self.

It's spring. Everything's blooming. Pretty sure that's gardening 101. Don't prune a plant back to nothing when it's in bloom?

It was bad enough they never came on a schedule. It was bad enough they never bothered to care that I'd asked them more than once not to use a leaf blower on our property.

This? This is unacceptable. We were home the entire time. How hard would it have been to knock on the door and ask. "Hey, we'd like to prune all these plants way back. That okay with you?"

    What's EVEN WORSE THAN THAT?
THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. And yes, I complained then. They took a FRUITING berry plant and cut half of it away. WITH FRUIT ON IT.

And yes, they promised they'd ask next time. Apparently that promise meant nothing.

Worst yet, I called them and left them a voicemail this morning. It's been six hours now and they haven't called me back.

    I am emphatically DIS-RECOMMENDING Walt's Organic.

This place is a true gem. Really high quality stuff at very fair prices and wonderful customer service. Hard to find nowadays. I can't wait to come back, especially closer to spring so I can load up on native plants. Thanks Walt!
