Midwest is my preferred place to go to get material for our property maintenance / landscaping business. I always find them efficient and pleasant to work with. I would say it's very DIY friendly. The employees are helpful and great at helping customers navigate the process. We are not compensated in anyway for this review, I just like the way they do business!

I loved working with Midwest Decorative Stone. I got 3 different loads of soil delivered last year. All on time, and neatly dumped on the tarps I had left out. It was the easiest deliveries I've ever had. I'm looking forward to working with them again this year.

I have purchased mulch from Midwest Decorative Stone for over 20 years. I have always found them friendly, helpful, and efficient. Their drivers are careful about dropping off the mulch with attention to where i want it placed. I will continue to buy from them with pleasure.

I have been very satisfied with the customer service provided, from helping me figure out how many tons of stones I needed, to setting up a convenient delivery time, to the skill of the delivery person in dropping the stones where I wanted them. The stones are beautiful and are much less hassle than mulch /wood chips. This year will be my 4th delivery. I am truly a satisfied customer!

We have used Midwest for our mulch and top soil needs the last few years. They are always responsive, helpful and quick. Orders have been delivered in a day or two even in the busy season. Great prices as well. Highly recommended!

Even though my visit was a quick one—to order mulch delivery—the customer service was excellent. I was welcomed and it felt like they were happy to have my business. The person who took my order quickly mentioned which kind of mulch I had ordered in the past and how much had been delivered. That helped me make the right decision for this year. I am glad to support a local business that treated me well.

I ordered top soil--twice. As it turns out, this is not top soil but clay soil, full of weeds. Terrible quality and poor value. Also, when you order, they ask you when you want it delivered. I said "morning" and had a helper waiting with me for the soil to arrive, which finally happened around 2 pm. I had to pay my helper for hours of doing nothing. Will definitely not order from them again!

They say it's silt loam but the photos speak for themselves. Heavily crusted clay.

I have worked with Midwest Decorative Stone & Landscape Supply for years. My beautiful yard is a testimonial to how their natural materials can transform a thistled back yard into a tranquil paradise.

Ordered 2 yards of mulch this week and was quoted under 90 dollars as the total, which I thought was reasonable, so I scheduled delivery. Got my credit card statement and they has charged me 125 dollar. Called to ask why it was different and the answer was "they must not have hit the right buttons, sorry"..."anything else I can do for you?" Not acceptable!

MDS is my go-to place for mulch, top soil, and stone every time. Easy in, easy out, and less expensive than other places.

Slow and steady. Might catch some attitude, but it’s a rough business… Wide selection of materials, carries quality products.

I have been using Midwest Stone for years and never have had a poor experience. They deliver in a timely manner and exactly where I want it set. Always someone around to help in their yard too!

Can't say enough good things about the employees and service. Truly top-notch.

Good selection and good service but I'm not pleased with the product delivered. I ordered 7 tons of 1-1/2" American Heritage and it was delivered promptly. I realize that this is not washed stone, but I believe the amount of dirt and rock flour in the load was excessive. The idea behind landscaping fabric and rock is too minimize weeds in your landscaping beds, but with the amount of fine material going on top of the landscape fabric it defeats the purpose. I'm also paying for rock, not dirt.

I have been working with this company for a few years now for my home in Madison, and now my hobby/therapeutic farm in New Glarus. I have always been happy with their products and pricing, and the “gals” up front have always been super helpful and friendly!

I've purchased ~20 tons of landscape stone for two separate landscape projects I've done recently and the service, quality, and pricing have all been outstanding. I couldn't be more pleased with them, and confident in recommending them. I don't think the average DIY home owner realizes how much more product you can get to make landscape improvements vs. purchasing bagged product at a Home Improvement retailer. I'd suggest comparing - it's literally tons of high quality stone with excellent selection you can have dropped in your driveway for the same price as a few bags from the Home Improvement retailer. If you measure the square feet you would like to cover, and tell Midwest the stone you like and the depth of coverage you want, they will accurately quote you the tons of the stone required.

We have enjoyed working with Midwest Decorative Store for years. We have purchased a variety of stones for our yard. Great people to work with.

Reasonable selection of stone but not the largest selection in the Madison area.

This is a great place to get all sizes of rocks to paint. The kind office employees have a great smile and helpful tips.
