I requested a simple quote on what the cost would be to install a battery backup sump pump. I was informed a technician would need to be sent to the house before providing a quote. At no point was I ever told that we would be charged a $98 service charge for them to come to our house for this quote.
My wife was home when the technician arrived, and she asked the technician if he could also write up a quote for what it may cost to install a water-powered backup sump pump. The technician had no idea what she was talking about. He said he'd have to talk to his manager. After talking to his manager, he informed us they don't do that work. How a sump pump technician doesn't know what a water-powered sump pump is - I have no idea, but it sure seemed like a red flag to me!
The technician then showed my wife a quote on his iPad for $3500. While I'd like to say that sounds like an outrageous price for a battery-powered backup sump pump, I can't say for certain, because the only "quote" we received via email afterwards was for the $98 "service fee." Again, we were never told about this fee in advance, nor is it advertised anywhere. All we wanted was a quote. What "service" was done? We still haven't received any actual quote, including the pictures and videos that the technician supposedly needed to take while at our property.
We'd like the "service fee" refunded, and we will not work with this company in the future. -
At first they were very promt and professional. But after waiting several days after I was supposed to get my quote. I reminded them that I had not received it yet. It's been a week and nothing. Not even a text message. That s all I need to know about this company.

Drain specialist Z Ellis was sent to my home to unclog a bathroom sink drain. He was very communicative in letting me know arrival time etc, and he was extremely thorough in his work. It took extra time and work for him to reinstall the pipes and have them not leak and Z Ellis performed this extra work without complaint, which I appreciated greatly. My drain now works well and the pipes are not leaking. I will always use Mr. Holland's for similar jobs in the future!

We had the best experience with Mr hollands. We had several companies come out for quotes or repair...they are (Matt) the only ones who got back to us the same day not weeks later or some companies didnt get back to us at all! Our boiler went down and they were here the next day to install an entirely new system....they were professional and did excellent work, not to mention true to their word! They went above and beyond and highly recommend them to anyone!!! We are very happy!

We had a great experience with Josh. He came out the day before Thanksgiving and cleared a clogged drain quickly and efficiently. He was friendly, explained everything he was doing, and even gave helpful suggestions to prevent future issues. His clean-up was excellent-it looked like he'd never even been there. We really appreciated the timely service and professionalism. Highly recommend!

.Making an appointment was very easy. Chris came out and did a great job, fixing our problem and checking our furnace for any other problem. He did a great job explaining the club they have for the best possible service.

Josh is an extremely nice, polite guy. Enjoyed the service call with him. Unfortunately, he made the wrong diagnosis. Thought the septic back up was because the holding tanks were full. Called for next day pumping. They said tanks were fine. Called they're recommended repair guy. He came out within 3 hours and freed the restriction.with Christmas in a few days we wanted someone with more septic experience.

Despite the very recent and constant bad scheduling issues. Their technicians continue to do great work. Very personable and thorough. Please please get your heads wrapped around your customers time when scheduling. It always seems as if a technician gets "stuck in traffic for 1-2 hours". The last 2 scheduled times this has happened.

I have been a long time customer of Mr Holland and have had a membership with them for a long time for yearly furnace and A/C maintenance. Since I am a long time customer of theirs I decided to try their electrical service for the removal and installation of 3 pendant lights in my kitchen. I called days prior to the appointment to get an estimate on how much it woudl cost and they would not give me one as they weren't sure what they were getting into and weren't sure how much time the work would take (red flag #1).
The appointment was scheduled for between 8 am-12 pm. I received no communication from them by 10:00, so I called and asked for an update. Someone didn't call me back until 11:00 and was told the person was on their way. Person was not there by noon so I called again and was told it was going to be another hour (red flag #2). I asked at that time that the trip charge be removed and it was. Person arrived a little after 1:00 and started the work.
He looked at the work that he was going to do and charged me for 2 lights instead of 3 and the cost was still going to be $550. My eyes about popped out of my head, which he did notice. He said I could shop around if I wanted to but he was already there so I told him to go ahead. He was done in a little less than an hour. So basically I was charged for $550 for an hour of labor.
I called Mr Holland two days afterwards and spoke to the electric manager who told me they charge by the task, not the hour and that I was already given a discount since I was only charged for 2 lights, not 3. I am not sure how they can feel good about knowingly overcharging a customer for the work that was done. I will be cancelling my membership and never working with this company again due to the lack of customer service and disrespect for the loyalty of their customers. -
Jonathan was very courteous and knowledgeable. He ensured the new duct installation was done in a timely manner.

There were a lot of mishaps while working with Mr.Hollands. One of which was , the wrong heater and air conditioning system was loaded up. That was a 1.5 hour delay for the proper one. They messed up the financing we were promised.
The workers were all polite and respectful. The first appointment for the plumber was canceled. It happens- people get sick.
They were not here at the correct time windows.
I wished we would have gotten a couple of other quotes. We feel, even with discounts it was overpriced. Over 13k. -
I couldn't be happier with the plumbing work that was accomplished in just one day! Allen and Chad were very professional and exceptionally nice. I have already recommended their work to several people. I will be calling Mr. Hollands again if I need any additional work.

Service and turnaround time were both exceptional! They took the time to talk through our options but didn’t pressure us into anything. The process was a breeze. The installation was smooth, the techs and electrician did a fantastic job explaining what they were doing, asked if we had questions and left the area clean. Highly recommended!!

Furnace stopped working because the line froze. The tech came out and address my problem efficiently, and hot air was blowing within the hour. Highly recommended!
Edit: Well, that was short lived. The repair caused all of the condensate to overflow into my
home. Company promised me a call back last week, and so far, nobody has reached out. They left me in the dust while the HVAC continues to leak.
Charged me 500$ to cause 10,000$ worth of damages to my home. Not entirely satisfied. -
Quality and quick same day service! Andy was great to work with. He took the time to gave us all our options for a new water heater and once we made our decision, he was able to get the new one installed right away. Could not be happier with our experience!

Could not ask for a better business to work with. From replacing my sewer stack to inevitably having to replace my main sewer line, they gave 100%. Took their time to explain each step, and did the job correctly. And to make them even better, they came out and back filled the dirt that sank after the major rain storm. Payment plan was easy to set up and made the situation easier to handle. A+ for everything!

We had an emergency after hours call to have a technician take a look at our furnace. Dylan was extremely knowledgeable and kind. He explained everything to us in a professional, detailed way. Because of Dylan’s assessment we feel so very taken care of and secure with our new purchase of a furnace that was much in need, and a membership that will keep us calm and secure insuring our homes safety. Dane was our sales associate who was also just an amazing staff member to work with. He answered the call and came to the rescue as well. We are so very pleased with Mr. Hollands Home Services. Highly recommend for any and all of their services.

On September 11, 2025, I hired Mr. Holland’s to clear and diagnose a main line clog. I was charged $738.04 for drain cleaning with a snake. The invoice states the technician attempted to snake the line multiple times but could not get it open, and because the drain was still impacted they were unable to camera the line. I was told the blockage was around 90 feet from the access point, but my own measurements showed that distance would place the problem across the street, which did not make sense. In reality, the blockage was never cleared and the scope I paid for was never attempted.
Even though the line was still blocked and never scoped, I was given a written estimate for $39,900.34 to excavate and replace about 7 feet of my sewer lateral. That estimate included removing two sections of sidewalk, excavating down 9 feet, cutting out and replacing pipe with PVC and a cleanout, slurry backfill, and sidewalk replacement — but no landscaping restoration. No spot-repair options were offered.
I later hired Subterranean Sewer Experts, who scoped the line and found the actual blockage about 30 feet inside the basement, not 90 feet away. They also scoped another access point closer to the street, which confirmed the sewer lateral was clear and did not need replacement.
I had paid Mr. Holland for clearing a clog and performing a scope, neither of which were done. I was told by both phone and text that my payment would be refunded; I even saw the refund pending, but it was later reversed without notice. Because the blockage was left in place and the scope was never done, I was forced to hire another company and pay an additional $747.40 to complete the work Mr. Holland’s failed to perform.
Based on my experience, I was charged for a service that was not performed, left with a blockage still in place, given a nearly $40,000 estimate for unnecessary sewer work, and denied a refund that was promised.
Update to this. My bank did end up crediting me back the payment for this service after my challenge was successful.
Update. The issue ended up being a collapsed home trap which was clay. You can see by the picture of the work done that it was removed in the basement which is 35ish feet away not 90. The work was done by another company and cost 1/10th of the Mr Holland estimate and works great now.
Update. I learned my sewer lateral is pvc and showed no issues with it, so it’s been replaced recently. The $40,000 bid wouldn’t have fixed my actually issue and would have been replacing a newer sewer lateral.
Update. I still can’t believe the size of Mr Holland’s bid and the fact that now I know definitively it wouldn’t have solved the issue and would have been replacing a newer sewer lateral that has no issues. I’m so glad I called another company and saved myself $40,000. -
I called at 4:00 because my furnace had been not heating for almost 24 hrs. Jonathan was at my home within 2hrs, analyzed the situation and knew within 20 minutes the problem and the steps necessary to fix it. He could give me the age of the furnace and advise me of available options. He was so nice, courteous and understanding. They are definately my go to people from now on!

After I failed to clean the drain with snake myself, I called for a professional plumber. He had a much simpler snake than mine, and after he cleaned the drain, it took less than half an hour for it to clog again. I warned the plumber that snake doesn’t work and additional tools/methods are probably needed, but all he could offer is sneaking. We were charged close to $500 for his failed attempt.
