Shown below is tree that was TWICE re-planted by Capital City Tree Experts. When I informed them that it was dying - again, they ignored me. When it was finally so utterly and completely dead that the needles were falling off, they sent one of their employees who proceeded to FERTILIZE and TREAT a DEAD TREE!!

I fired them and banned them from ever setting foot on my property.

THEY TREATED A DEAD TREE!!!!

Without going into more detail, I would gladly give these folks 6 or 7 stars out of a possible 5. We've been caring for our trees in Madison for over 35 years and these are the best we've found.

The team was very professional, friendly and explained everything as they went along. We believe the value was great, too. We would recommend to neighbors and friends. It was a positive experience!

Alisha was so awesome. I didn't see the email informing me of their arrival the next day. I was a bit cranky when I came to the door and my dog hadn't been out yet. She was very apologetic and said she could come back. She notated that i wanted a text alert when she would return. Not only did I get a text alert when she came back, she came later AND gave a call alert that she was here. My dog is very anxious and this was so appreciated. she was very kind, understanding and professional

I really hate to leave a negative review but my experience with SavATree this past year has been extremely frustrating. Last Spring I contracted SavATree to treat a birch tree for a fungal infection, a relatively affordable procedure. The salesperson tried to upsell trimming for several large trees in my yard, a significantly more expensive service. I agreed to the birch tree treatment, but said I would consider the trimming at a future date due to the additional expense.

SaveATree completed the birch treatment in the Spring and I considered our arrangement complete, but then I received an email from them on two occasions in the Fall telling me that a crew was scheduled to come to my home to perform the very expansive tree trimming. The first time I considered this a simple misunderstanding and kindly asked them to cancel any scheduled service. The second time I was very alarmed and told them to never schedule additional service appointments without my consent. All was quiet over the winter, but this past weekend I received ANOTHER email from SavATree telling me that a crew was scheduled to perform additional services at my home. I appreciate their attempt to drum up business, but this is now boarding on fraud and harassment. PLEASE stop scheduling service appointments to my home as I will be using a different company for any future tree care needs.

Great job! Kudos go out to Mitch R. for his outstanding work. He informed us prior to arrival, reviewed the work to be performed and executed the project with throrough professionalism. I highly recommend SAVATREE for your tree, shrub and lawn care needs.

I hired them to make sure my new trees were healthy. They recommended injecting fertilizer with water, twice. Since I don't know about trees I trusted them, however it turns out this should have NEVER happened with new trees, furthermore they were injected too late in the season. I confirmed with several other arborists, who were shocked this happened. All my trees died which was a wasted 6k.

Will never work with them again.

We had another positive experience with SAVATREE today, June 23, 2025. Last week Arborist Miguel Cruz Jr. met with us to discuss what General Tree Care services he was proposing for the six trees in our yard. Today the team of Ruby, Cameron and Everett performed the work prescribed in an awesome manner despite the extreme warm weather. They paid much attention to detail and we were pleased with the results. We give SAVATREE 5 stars and are pleased to recommend their business to any property owners needing general care of their trees.

Professional, thoughtful, excellent work, respectful of our and our neighbor's property. Everything was completely cleaned up after the job. Best price we found locally. Would recommend to anyone.Special shout out to Miguel, Cameron, Everett and Ruby!

The guys did a great job on such a cold day. Have used their services for years and always been satisfied.

I didn’t hear the tree limb fall; I just opened the blinds and there it was. I called a company that my daughter liked, but they couldn’t remove the tree until next week. Randomly, I chose from the google listings of emergency tree care.

Miquel arrived 30 minutes before his window. We went through my whole yard as I also was looking to do preventative care for my other trees and I thought his responses were on par with my own thoughts.
His team, who were busy, also arrive early. Everything was explained. They would move items like decorations and chairs. When I said “don’t touch the grill” at the edge of downed branches because there is a house wren nest, it was mentioned through the entire crew (the wren family is fine).
The branches were down and the area was cleaned up in recorded time.

Cody was so nice and friendly when he came to quote us on the work they would do on our yard. He made sure to listen to what we wanted done, but also made sure to preserve the healthy parts of the trees. His crew did an amazing job when they came to do the job and did a great job cleaning up our yard when they were done. They were also much more reasonably priced than other companys we looked in to. Would highly recommend!

We have two large silver maples in our backyard that had large limbs hanging over our garage and house, as well as utility lines that run through our backyard. We are so thrilled with the work that SavATree did! The sales rep was quick to understand what we were wanting, and helped us understand the general health of both trees and how reducing weight would help them continue on. The day-of crew knocked it out of the park! They are total masters of their craft. We're extra grateful for how well they handled a confrontation from our neighbor who was unhappy that more of our limbs that hang over her yard weren't being removed. The crew was respectful and knowledgeable about that topic, briefly informed her, and moved on with the work they were there to do. We're looking forward to having them back this summer to take care of some stump grinding as well for a separate project.

8/30/18 So to understand your response, you are not able to correctly stake a tree unless you planted it? All of the trees in the picture were straight when they were planted but their first winter found them tilting. If you were unable to do the work correctly the first time, you shouldn't have taken the job. You charged me a significant amount to go "all the way to Blue Mounds" from the East side. It's your issue that you had to come back to correct your work. Very UNPROFESSIONAL The work I hired this company for included a load of mulch to be delivered on my driveway was dumped on my lawn. They moved it. The trees to be staked were crooked and they had to fix that as well. Finally, the 4 trees that needed treatments, ended up being 3 because 1 died before they came out. I was told the bill would be adjusted accordingly. It wasn't and they said there was a minimum fee to come to my house which was not communicated to me. Completely shocked at the poor service and the way I was treated about the final bill. Friends got a good laugh out of these pics.

We have used Capital City Tree Services for 5 years now, excellent service, complete, timely and budget friendly. We had a big white pine removed this week after a storm, and it was gone in a few days. Our neighbors were impressed and we handed out several cards for them to contact Capital City.

These are very friendly and up front people so it should be 4-5 stars. The only reason I’m giving it less is that they did not let me know they were coming out.

I have a dog. However, I was out of town and my dog was elsewhere. I have no idea what they did. I had a branch I wanted removed that wasn’t, since I wasn’t there.

Excellent work (as always) by SavATree's crew. Checked to be sure we were satisfied with the trimming/pruning work as they worked through each tree.

I had several quotes to removed two big box elder bug trees by my house. Some of those quotes were ridiculous, up to $7,000. SavATree came by and quoted us with a reasonable price. They came on time and started the work right away. They cleaned up and hauled everything away. I was impressed by the work they did. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend them to all my friends and family. No more box elder bugs!!!!

Miguel communicated the details and costs very well. The guys arrived on time, were very courteous and did a great job trimming our Norway maple. They were done in a morning and cleaned up nicely!

The arborist Cody was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Informed me which trees and shrubs could be trimmed during what time of year. The crew that came out for trimmings were great. They made certain that each tree looked perfect and cleaned the yard to cleaner than when started. A+ work.

Everett and crew were wonderful. I was very sad to lose our big old birch in our front yard. To keep some of the tree we loved, I asked the guys to cut 3 fire pit seats out of the trunk. They were happy to do so AND they put them in place around the fire pit in our back yard! Great guys…friendly, courteous, helpful, fast & efficient.
