Eric and crew were here to do some tree trimming for me. i've had Capital City Tree here to do tree work for me several times over the years.
This past week they were here for more tree trimming because there was a very large tree with a tree branch hanging perilously over the roof. They did a FANTASTIC job of trimming the tree while maintaining the health of the tree. I was so impressed. They were very careful, clearly aware of safety issues, and just did such an excellent job. You can count on them to take good care of your trees!

Several big storms blew through Madison in the last week, ripping several large limbs partially down from a big maple in my back yard. Connor came out within 24 hours to look at the damage, then came BACK the next day to talk to me about it and discuss the plan. They made time in their busy schedule to come dispose of the branches (which were dangling and thus a danger to people/property) far sooner than I expected, showing up about a week earlier than I thought they would! I cannot recommend them highly enough and will definitely be reaching out to them again with any future arborist or tree pruning needs.

We have used Capital City Tree Experts a few times since purchasing our home and could not be happier. Their entire staff has been professional and responsive, our trees look AMAZING, and they always leave our property in great condition. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants quality work done!

We called Capital City Tree Experts for help with storm damage to the tops of 3 trees in our yard. They brought their “spider lift” which worked well because our lawn doesn’t have room for equipment. They cut, trimmed and cleaned up branches and sticks making the place look better than before! We were very pleased that the spider lift left no damage to the lawn as well. They were professional and efficient. They offered advise but also listened to what we wanted. Good job Capital City Tree Experts.

Kevin, Nick and Terry arrived a little early for my scheduled appointment to prune four trees and started promptly at 8 a.m. this morning. I was very impressed with their professionalism, quality of work plus how quietly they worked (which I'm sure my neighbors appreciated)! They were done in under an hour and waited until about 8:45ish a.m. to put the tree branches through their shredder (and I'm sure my neighbors appreciated that too). Did an excellent job of cleaning up around the trees after they were done. Great guys and I would definitely recommend them.

Disappointingly, though perhaps not surprisingly, customer service is even worse after the acquisition by "SavATree." Weeks of trying to get someone to come take a look at the state of the tree they planted last fall with no response or follow up of any kind. I have to assume at this point that they simply do not intend to provide any of the ongoing services nor stand behind any of the warranties for which we have already paid.

Update after response from business:

Yes, there are (at least) two points of view in every discussion. I acknowledge that Capital City's owners have theirs. I stand by mine. A third point of view, in this case, is that of the utility company, which I know from having had to call them myself a number of times to finally get the work done. Needless to say, while Capital City's owners point their fingers at the electric company, the story I was hearing from the electric company was somewhat different.

We tipped the crews because in nearly every case, once Capital City's employees actually showed up to do the work, they did it well. Nor do I blame them for the long delays and complete silence from Capital City in between their visits. I am sure the crews go where and when they are told. It is up to those in charge to determine priorities and communicate with customers.

As for the discount we were offered, it was for a service that even Capital City's own employee acknowledged we do not really need. That is why we declined it. And it was only a discount from what seemed a quite high price to start with.

And that is the crux of my issue with the service we have received. Capital City charges premium prices, but has not provided the level of service I would expect to justify those prices. Had we been charged a bargain rate, I would not have reviewed the company in what Capital City's owners consider so "harsh" a manner. That said, since the service for which we have already paid includes ongoing maintenance of the newly planted tree, I will consider revising my review again if, in my opinion, the company's future performance warrants it. So far, that has not occurred.

We first met with a salesperson from Capital City Tree Experts on March 23, 2022 and signed their written proposal for a very large tree pruning, removal and planting project the same day. Among the services they promised to justify their premium prices was a smooth process, for example in coordinating with utility companies where overhead power lines and underground pipes and conduits are concerned. It is May 23 as I write this, and we finally got the electric company to complete their part of the project after we called them ourselves numerous times, since Capital City Tree Experts was not getting them to show up. Now Capital City Tree Experts says it will be at least a week before they are willing to return to complete their job, leaving us with a hacked up tree and a huge pile of debris in our front yard for that much longer. Very disappointing, to say the least.

DO NOT use this company for their tree services. I’ve never wrote a Google review, but I feel compelled to do so this time. We used their services for one year and the next year decided to go with another service because their prices were too much. Never signed a contract with them, but they charged our credit card anyway. Figuring it was an oversight, I contacted the company to be reimbursed. I kept getting told that “someone would get back to me later.” No one ever did. Dishonest company with horrible customer service. Use any other company!!!

We ordered 17 yards of the double shredded oak mulch. Cody communicated well on delivery timeline and then called when they were on their way. Even after delivering the mulch that they were not hired to install themselves, he gave some tips on best practices for how and where to install. We only ended up needing ~13 yards, but our neighbors are happy to take the extra off our hands (aka our driveway). I will come back to update the review if the performance of the product doesn't live up to the first couple steps in the process, but so far so good

Capital City came and removed a gigantic tree on the property line. The service was exceptional! You would never know the tree ever existed! They cleaned up all of the debris and left zero mess. They were even kind enough to invoice the two homeowners separately which was a great help with us not having to exchange money. Would and have highly recommended them to others.

We've been working with Capital City Tree Experts (SavATree) for the past 4 years for various projects related to tree trimming and tree/plant health. We've been happy with the service and work each time. The arborists and crews are very knowledgeable, professional and efficient with their work. Additionally, the communication with the arborists and office from our experience has been excellent.

Cody, the arborist, was so caring and helpful after the storm. He rigged the tree so that it wouldn’t fall until they could get here to take care of it. Joey Julian and Paul were the crew who came to take care of the tree and were wonderful! They even cleaned up after themselves! Way to go guys! I will definitely use you again!

SavATree is continuing to protect our Ash tree from the Ash Borer. It is healthy and growing well, providing shade and beauty in our back yard.

Eric and his crew recently removed a honey locust from our property in Madison. We were extremely pleased with the work that was done and would recommend Capital City Tree Experts to family and friends without hesitation. The work was done in a timely manner as was promised. The crew took special care to avoid damaging our property and they performed the work in a safe manner as well. In addition, they did a good job of cleaning up the yard,driveway and street when the work was finished.The crew was very professional throughout.Thanks again for a job well done!

We hired Darrell and his crew for tree trimming, shrub and stump removal. We were satisfied with the tree trimming and shrub removal however, they ignored our instructions to enter our property on a certain side - inconviencing our neighbor; they removed our survey posts without permission to which we had to pay to replace; two stumps still left undisolved (additional expense when we put the fence in); along with their cherry picker dieing on ours and our neighbors front lawn for over 36 hours forcing them to drag it into the street - tearing up our and our neighbors lawn including my neighbors invisible fence (another expense). Additionally, they took no care into cutting down the back trees on the brehm, much of the branches and sticks fell on to our backyard neighbors lawn. ALL of this was caught on our security cameras. After dicussing some of our concerns with a crew member, it appeared we were credited $670 for our inconveniences, but then a month later, they mailed us an invoice saying it was an "error". My husband called several times, leaving his number with the lady, but never receiving a call back. Very disappointing to say the least. Spending close to $8000 for poor quality; poor customer service and additional expenses that could have been prevented. Would NOT recommend and definitely will not suggest to anyone who is looking for a reputable or professional tree trimming company.

Worth every penny!! I had one tree removed, one trimmed and a bush with multiple things growing in it removed. They were very professional, good communication and my yard looks so much better!

Amazing service and professionalism from the guys and gals at Cap City Tree Experts. We had a neighbors tree fall on our property twice in one year, leaving us responsible for the clean up. They picked up the phone when we called, quoted quickly so we could get the estimate to our insurance company, and completed the work timely to get the tree off our driveway and shed. We can't say enough about the professionalism, and always highly recommend them to our family, friends and clients.

**Update** We recently ordered mulch from Capital City Tree Experts. This is a great new service, and we were really happy with the mulch we ordered. It had a lovely color and smell. Several neighbors commented on how nice our refreshed perennial beds looked with a thick layer of mulch. The price was great and delivery was prompt. I’ll definitely order from Capital City Tree Experts again.

We hired Capital City Tree Experts to remove a tree from our yard. I was impressed with how easy it was to work with them! They clearly communicated when they would do the work, arrived on time, finished quickly, and left a clean yard! If the tree wasn't gone, I wouldn't have even known they were here. Their pricing was competitive and fair. We would definitely work with them again!

Very happy with SavATree. Fast estimate, a few weeks of a wait for the work, but that's understandable. They did a great job.

I couldn't have asked for anything better. The guys were efficient and answered all my questions. They got here quickly after a tree fell in my neighbor's yard. The price was fair and they did a great job cleaning up. I will definitely use them again.

We had an arbor kelp treatment done for three oak trees in our yard. The woman who did the application was careful of our many plants when dragging around the long hose. No problems at all
