We hired Great Lakes Landscape to grade and redo our back lawn May 2025. The crew day-of did a decent job and asked for a day-of review so I left a good review that day as I felt they worked hard and well. Of note, during the grading there were several tree roots and stumps exposed, which I asked about to ensure these would be properly addressed and removed if necessary, and it was guaranteed they would address this. Fast forward to mid August: the lawn (which had been previously predominantly grass) grew back as predominantly leafy weeds throughout the entire yard. Furthermore, there were approx 5-6 areas of 4-12” where tree roots/stumps were visible and grass (nor weeds) were growing as a result. Additionally, it was obvious that the grading had not been done properly, as there were several pools of water near the back of our lawn with rain. I emailed the contact I had at their company around late June 2025 and was guaranteed that they’d come back out and at least overseed / address the weeds and roots. I emailed back two weeks later and finally heard the same response: they’d be out in a few weeks to fix things. About two weeks later I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was was not allowed to speak to a manager but was told that the same contact I had not heard back from would call me back “when he is back from vacation.”

A week or so later (around early Aug 2025) this contact calls me back and says, “It was news to me that no crew came out to fix things by now.” He proceeded to promise again that someone would be out in September. It is now October and after that last phone conversation there has been ZERO follow up, nor has a crew from their company come out. I truly gave the benefit of the doubt, waited patiently (over the course of FOUR months) for things to be addressed, and ended with a poorly graded, weed filled lawn. Finally in October 2025, I hired a separate company to grind several stumps that were discovered to be a part of the problem, and redo nearly half of our lawn, including the grading where pooled water has been noted when we’ve had rain. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. (Unfortunately having difficulty uploading photos.)

We have had Great Lakes do multiple jobs for us, including snow plowing in the winter. They always do excellent work, and I can't recommend them enough.

We have used them for landscaping, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, and many other smaller jobs here and there.

We had a fantastic experience with Great Lakes Landscaping. After two previous rounds of landscaping projects with another company on our wooded lot, we wanted to clean up a significant amount of space occupied by buckthorn and weeds to be replaced with trees, plantings, wildflowers, etc. The entire process was great. Our salesperson Tom was prompt to reply, easy to work with, and handled our revision requests with no issues. The installation crew was also top-notch—professional, respectful, and friendly. The quality of their work is excellent, and we are thrilled with the end result. Highly recommend.

Met Owner Ryan on very first visit, very kind he listened to our needs and helped navigate most cost effective yet perfect plan. . Team leader Cesar and crew did an amazing job creating a stone parking area along side my barn, in addition to laying new sod and stone the length of the barn. Highly recommend this company . Communication was also incredible through the entire process.

I had weeding and mulch installed. The crew were great! Very personable and professional, and worked hard! The results are beautiful, will definitely recommend Great Lakes Landscaping and will be contacting them for future jobs!

Their crew just finished bush and tree trimming. Very pleased. Very professional and courteous crew. The sales person, Dan provided prompt quotes for two additional projects. Very happy I called after receiving their mail insert. Five plus star rating.

I had GL come back out to Landscape the front. The crew that came out today was as professional and hardworking as the crew that did the trimming of my bushes in the fall. The link didn't allow me to rate this job but it was also 5 ++ stars. Highly recommend Great Lakes Landscaping. Superior quality on plants, mulch, courteous communication, just the best all around.

Great Lakes did a fantastic job on our landscaping project! We had a ton of ugly, outdated decorative stone which they removed, then graded and mulched and fixed the downspouts/drainage in front of our house. It looks amazing. Somehow got it done in only 2 days, and the guys were all super nice and professional.

I had an amazing team out here to do some grading around the house. They were so friendly and polite and did just a great job getting our lawn restored to an even flat plain. They worked efficiently and professionally. I was really impressed with how well they supported each other in their various roles. The team was made up of Alan, Chisoforo, and Leshawn. I will definitely be inviting them back to do more landscaping work in the spring.

They did a great job leveling out our yard, adding lots of topsoil and mulch, and edging the beds. They also leveled the ground in front of our shed which will make getting our equipment in and out so much easier! We've hired Great Lakes once before and will definitely do it again in the future.

Tom and the crew did a great job on our project in Wauwatosa. The process was smooth from setting an appointment to obtaining a quote and booking the job. Tom listened to our needs and was able to suggest a scope of work beyond our expectations for a very affordable price. We had many garden beds that were overgrown that were tended to, weeded and mulched as well as some old bushes removed and new planted. The crew was very fast and efficient and we’re very satisfied with the work. Looking forward to working with Great Lakes again.
