our hot water went out and had no clue why. we had some so called heating and cooling guys from craigslist who both had a bad attitude and both were clueless to why the unit wasn't firing up. but wanted hundreds of dollars to replace parts.

We then came across KNAUER HEATING AND PLUMBING on a google search and called them. The lady who answered our call was very polite and was eager to help us. she said no one was able to come out until tomorrow at 830am. when we told her we been without hot water for 4 days, she went above and beyond and arranged for someone to come out immediately and did not charge us a emergency service fee.

A gentleman by the name of Sebastian Bellante who was clearly a professional whiten this field arrived just 20 min later. As soon as Sabastian entered the area he told me the first problem was that, the other so called craigslist professionals was trying to start up the wrong hot water tank. After only 5 min of inspecting the correct water tank. Sabastian successfully diagnosed the problem.

I highly recommend this company and the staff to whom ever is in need of a heating and cooling professional. they are professional, eager to help you , experienced and very knowledgeable in the different units and trouble shooting. They were also very reasonable cost wise considering that they are a true professional heating and cooling service provider

Called at 8 AM described what happened, our 2nd floor kitchen was leaking profusely into basement. Jordan made it by 9:30 am and examined the situation and quickly diagnosed the problem in a logical manner. In stead of replacing a whole pipe run from basement to 2nd floor he was able to cut the damaged pipe and quickly repair for a fraction of what the cost and damage to house could have been

Wonderful experience, honest helpful people. I had a water pressure issue with my shower. They were able to come out the same day and quickly identified the problem and made the necessary repairs. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber.

UNETHICAL, OVERCHARGE: I asked for an estimate for unplugging my garbage disposal, and was told by answerer she couldn't do it because she had no idea what was wrong. When plumber arrived it took him about 2 minutes to unplug & then told me they had a standard cost of repairing any disposal of $140, the trip charge was $59, so I paid $200 for 2 minutes. Had the person answering the phone (who acted like she was the owner) told me of their standard charge I wouldn't have engaged them.

I live two blocks from their office in Shorewood and was charged a $39 trip fee. To clean and inspect my boiler was $264.00 I had it cleaned and inspected one year later from a different service as the price was $115.00 and the technician said the pilot and all of the burners was clogged and crudded and had not been cleaned in over 10 years. I bought the house from a family that used Knauer for maintenance and cleaning for over ten years, so I continued using them. They never cleaned it and overcharged me.
They are horrible!!

I never liked dealing with Cheryl or Jennifer's unprofessional attitudes. The only reason I used Knauer for plumbing was because of Buzz. So after they told me he had to retire due to his health, I had to find a new company. When my new plumber came to the door I was so happy and surprised to see that my "new" plumber was Buzz! I told him the story they told about his retiring/health issues. I asked why he left, but he wouldn't say. Just that his reasons had nothing to due to with his health. Whatever the reason, they must have done something pretty bad to make him leave after so many years. Buzz was the best thing that company had going for them!

So much for costumer service in this place.
We called because we need it a Plumber urgently. So we also the lady if she had anyone available she said the closes was 3 weeks. Then we ask again is there anything you can do to send someone or another place we can call to get a good service. And with the worst attitude she said to us. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT as she laughed at us. It was so rude and unprofessional, to talk like this to potential clients.

Review Update: WOW. Thank God we did not went with this company, What a Horrible and Unprofessional response. Let's get some classes of customer service. PS : we were able to find a great service elsewhere and they were able to show up TODAY and they are coming back TOMORROW too.

I am so glad that I contacted Knauer...The hose from our kitchen sink faucet began leaking. Your employee Jordan noted that our hot water outpour was also very thin. We discussed and I decided to buy a new faucet...it was installed. AND the hot water Outpour was back to normal!!!! [I had been told that the Problem was the water pipes in my home we’re so old and narrowed.] I am so glad that I called Knauer!

I will start with: I did not use this company for service. I did, however, get an estimate from them. I am rating them 2 stars because the person who inspected didn't even look at anything closely. He just took my input and assumed I knew what I was talking about. Note: I am not a plumber so how would I know what is wrong.

I had an issue with the hot water pressure to my kitchen sink and basement utility sink. The estimate said I would need the pipes leading to that to be replaced. They quoted me for 940 dollars total.

Flash forward and I got a second opinion. Turns out the aerator was the issue on the utility sink. How do you not check the aerator if you are a plumber? That's the most common issue. Anyways, the work on the pipes still needs to be done, but I have a different professional coming in for half the cost now.

I'm giving them 3 stars still, because the women on the phone were nice and I didn't get any work from them to know what kind of job they do.

Always get multiple bids when hiring contractors. Don't always take the lowest bid, but definitely use logic in picking workers.

I recently had a very good experience with 2 young gentlemen from Knauer. Jordan and Nick, they were prompt, polite and pleasant. It is wonderful to see young people learning the trades. They are definitely good will ambassador for the East side family business. We have been dealing with Knauer for over 25 years and are very satisfied with the professionalism that is shown and the quality of their workmanship. I would highly recommend this neighborhood and family business.

I called late on a Friday afternoon because my furnace wasn't working. I spoke with the owner who assured me that she could get a tech out within the hour. He showed up in 30 minutes. Yay me. He was able to diagnose and repair the problem with my furnace within the hour and I was heated and happy. I feel that the professional service I received was worth every penny. Have been using them to service our furnaces and water heaters for the last 15 years. They are always timely when it's an emergency. They do great work and are up front about pricing. The ladies in the office, and the repair people are always very nice. I would definitely recommend using them.👍

I've had my furnace, water heater and airconditioning installed and serviced with Knauer and have always had an excellent experience.
