My first contact with Dale Smart came about a year and a half before I thought I needed a roof. I had a random roof leak that would come and go that was driving me nuts for quite a few years. I randomly called (Smart Roofing) to see if they had any ideas on how I might find this leak. To my surprise, Dale showed up at my house a few hours later. My initial thought was that he was going to try and sell me a roof, but he didn’t. He actually found what we thought was causing the leak and did a small repair without asking for any money. The roof didn’t leak for about 1 1/2 years, when a new leak appeared out of nowhere. Once again I called Smart roofing. They got back to me promptly even when they were very swamped with other roofing jobs. Of the 3 contractors I called they had the most reasonable price. Then to make things better they got me in about a month sooner than I had originally planned. The crew came in and did the job from start to finish in 1 day including a very thorough clean up. I would highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

Dale and his team worked hard to get my roof done on time and as promised. His willingness to "get the job done" instead of endless talk was a great asset. The fact that the owner of the business was on-site and working while the roof work was being done is a testament to the seriousness with which Dale takes his profession. My neighborhood was hit by a storm and I've seen many roofs being replaced over the months since. Most of the companies seem to have an owner/marketing team and then a separate crew to do the actual work. By the time the job is being worked, the owners are elsewhere and nowhere to be seen. Not the case with Smart Roofing.

For my project, Dale came in part of the way through dealing with the insurance company. He did a great job helping me understand the process and the "industry" in a way that made sense (relative to the nonsensical nature of the insurance industry) and guiding my through the "last half" of the process.

Taking into account the frenetic nature of the roofing trade, Dale at Smart Roofing did a good job communicating and answering questions with patience and diligence. His "hands-on" approach means he has a lot going on at any given time but somehow, he makes everything work.

It seems clear to me why this company has survived through three generations in business in an industry where the average lifespan is only a few years. I would recommend Smart Roofing.

I was in building maintenance for many years. Used to know guys who did this, guys who did that. I'm running out of guys tho, as we all get older, retire, etc.

Didn't know a roofing guy anymore, and had a couple shingles blow off near the peak. Tried to get someone over. Handy-guys wanted a small fortune for this work. I caught Dale and one of his crews on a neighbor's roof, asked if he had a few minutes to have a look. He said he'd come over when finished.

When done with the neighbor, when he and his crew should have been having a well earned beer, he drove over with one of his guys, who took care of the missing shingles, replaced a bunch more around them, as well as the adjacent ridge caps.

When finished, I once again had a whole roof, even nominally color-matched to existing. Number of nails, staples, bits of shingle I had to clean up or found later in my garden: zero.

The maybe-half of what I would have had to pay the handy-guy was offered to Dale, 1/4 of that was returned as "that's too much."

He had his guy inspect the roof and go into the attic to look at the decking, and yeah, I need a roof. Don't have the coin for that right now, but when I do Smart will get the job.

I know a roof guy again. Shows up, does the work. This is what they do.

They were very prompt on the day expected. The crew was extremely efficient and knowledgeable. All work was done with extreme attention to quality. Everything was done in one day, without having to come back a second day to finish.

Dale & Joey were able to solve my roof leak caused by a squirrel & also addressed a loose siding panel. Although it was not a major roof repair, Dale was just as diligent, professional, expeditious, & extremely cost effective. Most importantly, they were so very friendly! Smart Roofing is the BEST!

Dale and Joe stopped on out to address a cut in the pipe boot. Dale made it a priority to take time out of his busy day, and take care of this cut. He patched it, assured me that it would keep out rain, and he was done with it quickly. Upon being on my roof, he noticed I was missing a piece of shingle. He took it upon himself to also address this, and filled me in on what he saw as he was on the roof regarding any future repairs, or if we need to address anything else. This is a great family owned business, and I highly recommend supporting these guys! Support the small businesses. Thanks again guys!

Dale and crew were top notch. From the day I contacted Dale to quote the job to the last day of installation they were responsive, thorough, and professional.

We had Smart Roofing replace the roofing shingles on our home due to hail damage. We really wanted to work with a local contractor with a good reputation.
We were very pleased with Smart Roofing - Dale and Joe came to inspect and verify the damage, and then Dale came back when the insurance adjuster was here to point out all that needed to be done. We worked directly with Dale to define what we wanted done and that it was important to us to be careful not to damage our landscaping and patios and have a thorough cleanup when they were done.
We were very satisfied with their work - they had an efficient crew and supervision on site for the entire job. Complete work took only one and one half days - including installation of new gutter guards to replace original hail damaged ones. Cleanup was great with no damage to landscaping.

Joey came out and found a number of problems with our roof and attic. He told us what needed to be done and that they would fix it correctly. They came out and did exactly what they said they would do and then some. Dale was always updating us on what they were doing and answered every question we had. Can't thank them enough..

Dale's pricing was fair and I received a great roof. The crew worked well and was done in 1 day. The clean up was spot on as well.
