We had an amazing experience with Doug doing our roof in 2023 and Earl doing our siding in 2025! We were impressed with the clear communication throughout the process regarding not just pricing but the scope of the work and what they encountered after tear off. Having small kids and pets, we really appreciated their care and attention to detail with cleaning up the work site. Both crews were incredibly polite and diligent, showing true expertise and craftsmanship when tackling the unique valleys and exterior features of our home. Overall, we are so pleased with the finished projects and are confident that their quality work has made our home more attractive and structurally sound. Since the 20-year shingles on our West Allis bungalow were 24 years old, and we had been having problems with ice dams, it was the year for a new roof. With 5 star reviews, a competitive price, and a salesman who responded very quickly to any phone call or text from us, we chose Evansen.

Shingles and other materials were delivered the day before. On the day of our project, the large Evansen crew started at 7am with a complete tear off. Roofing boards were repaired as needed. Ice and water barrier, etc. were installed along with new metal in the valleys, which were our problem areas. 50-year Owens-Corning Duration dimensional shingles went on top. They also put a new roof on our detached garage. The cleanup was absolutely perfect and they were finished by sunset. Everyone on the well-organized crew had a task to, knew how to do it and kept at it till the job was done. I was impressed.

A few days later, another Evansen crew came to install new larger capacity rain gutters and downspouts on our house and garage. They followed all my requests to a T. I would highly recommend Evansen Builders.

Reasonable Estimate, confidence that Evansen could deliver quality work which they did. From the photo, you can see alum edging and valleys, they replace all bad decking. install roofing materials quickly but accurately. Caulking and flashing all 100% perfect to ensure a leak proof roof. Was able to test roof as monsoon rain hit several days later with no issues. It was really a painless experience start to finish. However, you will need really good ear plugs if you are home on the day they install.

Nov 2025 Edit: 3 years and one house later, we contacted Evansen to do the roof on the house we just bought. Once again, nothing but professionalism, great service, and an outstanding product installed just before the big storm blew in. We really love working with this Doug, Earl, and their crews. Highly recommend!

After water started coming in through a corner, we got 5 quotes and Doug was the last one. I wish he had been the first one. His decades of experience had us knowing his team would do it right the first time.

We've had a bad ice dam issue and while the other quotes tried to sell me on fancy vents, Doug drew up what our attic likely looks like and explained it would be a waste of money to try their suggestions. He told us the truth, even when he could have upsold us.

While we were talking, he called and put a shingle color on hold that we were interested in, as it is going out of stock and supply was limited, we're likely the last house in Wisconsin with this color, thanks to Doug.

He was able, amazingly, to get us a date not even a week later, just ahead of some forecasted storms that I've been worrying about with a hole in the roof.

His crew came around 7am and were gone by 3pm, like they were never here. Everything was cleaned up spotlessly and they took extra care with the neighbors houses in close proximity.

We now have an Owen Corning's 50 year warranty with their Owen Corning's Platinum Preferred Contractor status but if we move and I need a new roof again, they'll be my only call.

They were able to replace my roof on very short notice 1 day before the weather became too cold. Totally impressed with Doug(the owner) when I talked to him on the phone on a busy Saturday morning for him. His project manager(Earl) called me 2 days later. Signed the contract the same day. Had estimates from 4 other companies. Evansen was by far the lowest. That's generally a red flag. But I had checked BBB beforehand. They had an A+ rating. Also a NARI member. They were also a certified installer for GAF and Owens Corning shingles.

I worked directly with Doug the owner. He was awesome. He put a package together for me that solved all my issues. He did a corning roof so he packaged it with corning insulation in my attic that I i'm desperately needed. His guys were here on time and respectful of my property. The job site looked like they never were here. When an issue arose with my chimney it was addrssed and fixed without a hitch.
I received a platinum warranty that protects me for fifty years. I truly don't believe I could have had a better experience.

This company recently installed a new roof and gutters on our home and garage. They were the lowest bid while including more services than other companies. Doug, the owner is very knowledgeable and professional. He fully explained all work to be completed and the quality products his company uses.The crew arrived on time, did an outstanding installation job and clean up was very good.

When Doug came to inspect the roof and gutter installation and collect the balance, I signed another contract with his company! The roof and gutter experience was so great we've hired Evansen Builders to replace all the window trim and fascia. Since his roof and gutter bid was so great, we didn't even get a second estimate for this work.

The overall experience with Evansen builders was outstanding and their work and product line is excellent!

Doug was very personable and thorough in providing the options and styles. We found the pricing to be competitive. The team was able to complete the work within and ahead of our expectations. The crew working on our house showed up and left at reasonable hours. They were friendly around my young children, who liked to speak with them while they were on the roof. The crew also did a good job cleaning up after the work was done. Doug also provided many financing options to find what worked best for our family. I would highly recommend Evansen Builders! We had our gutters, fascia and roof done.

I am a new homeowner and just found out there was a leak in my roof. Called Dale Jr., he came out and did a thorough inspection and gave me a great quote. He is professional and beyond personable. He communicated throughout the whole process and made everything that much easier for a first time home owner. Once I settled on a shingle color, he told me the approximate time they were going to start and I was shocked as to how quick they are compared to other estimates. He came over a day early, finished my garage and then finished my house the day after. They did an amazing job and the roof looks amazing. He will work with you to make sure that all little details (chimney knockdown, vent removal/installations, gutter pitch) are perfect and what you want! He was on the job each day and his crew was great too! They did a great job cleaning up the site completely. Only wish there were more stars to give them. These people know what they are doing. I have used them four times now.

Most recently, we had a leak in our three-seasons room. The original owner that we bought the house from told us it leaked since day one, years before. It took Dale less than five minutes on the roof to identify that the wrong skylights had been used and they were also installed incorrectly. They ordered the correct skylights and put on a new membrane roof. The room is now dry.

They were timely, friendly and left the site neat and clean. All at a very fair price. They are the only people that I will ever leave on my roof.

Above and beyond! Highly recommend. I could not be more pleased with the work the Smart Roofing team did in replacing the roof and installing leaf guards on my Milwaukee bungalow! It wasn’t an easy job, but they did a wonderful job and it looks great! The owner Dale was easy to work, kept me informed and did not cut corners. Cleanup was perfect. His salesman Tom was pleasant and very knowledgeable. The price was fair. When I look at my roof I have a good feeling that the process (one always dreads) went so well! Thank you Smart Roofing!

Working with Smart Roofing was a great experience from start to finish. Having initially solicited site visits and estimates from several different companies, we ultimately went with Smart Roofing based on the favorable price(although not the very cheapest), quality of inspection thoroughness and knowledge, local history, follow-up through the estimate process, and trust they built with us on the quality and reputation they would bring to our project. We were not disappointed with our decision, and both Tom and Dale impressed us at every turn.
All of our questions prior to accepting the estimate were answered thoroughly and their advice on options for the scope of work were honest and clear. Dale and his team were great!  He is friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the entire process.  Not pushy at all and price was very reasonable.  He was onsite during the entire roof installation and everyone on his team was very professional.  They were punctual and workmanship was exceptional.  Everything was completed in one day and cleanup was very thorough.  I highly recommend Smart Roofing!

Given the recent storms, I originally contacted my insurance company & started researching roofing companies. Joe provided an assessment, & concluded the job was too small to report a claim. He came through & took care of the quick fixes at my convenience. He was very thorough, and went above and beyond by confirming the crawl space didn’t have any damages. No other company did that, they just quoted a full replacement for a 10yr old roof or didn’t call back or show up at all! I really appreciated that given I was afraid of having my first major repair after my dad’s passing (yes, I’d consult him for all major repairs, regardless). Thanks again Joey!!

Very happy with the services from Smart Roofing! Both Tom and Dale were great to work with from start to finish. My older home had some challenges and Dale came onsite and spent an hour and a half working through a plan to address my needs and explained options along the way ( I had other estimates and nobody else focused on getting to the bottom of the problem). Dale was very patient and addressed any questions or concerns I had. Dale and his team stayed late to get the roof done and cleaned up everything as well. I hired Smart Roofing to roof my house due to hail damage. Dale was very professional and explained everything that his company was going to do. They came in a timely fashion due to how busy they were and replaced my roof and gutters. Couldn't be more satisfied with the job they did and how quickly it was done.
