They came out to the house to give me a quote on planting a tree and doing some pruning. They said they would email a proposal in a couple of days. They never sent the proposal even after I emailed them inquiring about it. I know they had the correct email address because I was put on their email list for advertisements. I ended up going with a different company.

Hired them this year for complete tree treatments as well as grass fertilizer/weed control. Formerly had Naturescape for 10 years for lawn. Much better with Davey! Arborist (Dan) is tremendous. No weeds, they take care and not destroy other plants. Trees are looking tremendous. The only problem is the grass is looking so great and growing so fast I need to mow more!!!
Had them for tree removal and they were great for that as well. Thats why we expanded their service.....

Made an appointment for a consultation. The arborist told me he had time between 9am and 1pm. I sat around waiting for him, but he never showed. He didn't even so much as call to tell me he would be running late or had to reschedule.

Edit: Arborist showed up late and gave us our quote. I'm not thrilled with the customer service.

Edit: The crew that wound up pruning our tree were clean and efficient. It took no time at all and our tree looks great.

Dan Blazer & his team did an outstanding job pruning, shaping and caring for our large and very mature lot. The whole property looks amazing. We enjoy & will continue to be long time customers!

Tree service is top notch, but lawn fertilization has ruined my yard. This year my yard looks as bad as when it was a year after new seed. Crab grass everywhere popped up and clover spread too far after I requested another treatment. It was too late. Your team didn’t treat to the curb. This is a huge miss.

We contacted Davey for several projects: Remove diseased spruce, replant tree line including a consultation on best species and design (27 trees total in the end), and lawn treatments (discussed below). For the trees, I worked with Adam, the district manager for my area and a certified arborist. He was wonderful to work with. We had multiple consultations before starting the job; he itemized tasks and gave options so we could pick and choose what we could afford to do. Ultimately, we did not use them for the tree removal because we found a better deal with a guy that was just getting started, BUT we are so pleased we went with them for the planting. Adam was incredibly knowledgeable about what species of trees to avoid (for deer and disease), how to arrange them on our property for best outcomes, and even weighed in a bit on design. I had gotten 3 quotes for planting and Davey was not only competitive, but I also sensed we would get the best advice and the job would be done right. There was one minor hiccup once the project got started - some of the trees were planted in the wrong spot, but Adam and his team (project lead was Steve) were incredibly responsive and professional about it and moved the trees to their correct location the very next week. This was a large project and not all the trees were available from the nursery at once, but Adam kept me informed along the way. Additional pluses - they had great selection of the species we were interested in and the trees are guaranteed for a full year. I really enjoyed working with both Adam and Steve and we will definitely be using them again when we can afford our next project.

Regarding lawn treatment: This is our first year doing lawn treatments. For the first treatment (pre-emergent) I was expecting them to come by mid-late may, but they didn't show when I expected, so I called and they scheduled me for the next week (I think it ended up being first week of June). Same thing happened a month later with the first of the broad leaf treatments. They were responsive when I called, but I do wish I didn't have to call. We'll see how fall treatment goes. I will say grass does look great even after a couple treatments and the price is comparable to their competitors

I'm sure there are people like me who get multiple quotes on services for your home. Davey Tree Experts won with their bid to trim a large, dense and over grown Crabapple tree in my front yard. This is a magnificent tree that gets rave reviews from neighbors. The Davey trimming team, asseted the situation and did a wonderful job cleaning out the suckers choking out the tree. They raised the canopy to 7' from the ground, so I can easily mow under it. They also cleared the limbs hanging over my roof! They asked me to review their work, when they completed the project. The team leader made sure I had no questions or concerns before tidying up my property and driving off. I'm so impressed! I will definitely allow Davey Tree Experts to bid on all my tree care projects and I highly recommend you do the same.

I was mesmerized by the confidence and skill as this crew took down our 65ft maple. The landing pad for the massive pieces was narrow....perfect landing and so gently....wow...thanks to the crew and Jimmy the arborist. Hire the best!

They did a very good job as usual.Plus they took out alot of deadwood that I could not see from the ground and cleared out the very low hanging branches.

Communication was excellent, and removal of large tree and stump along with evergreen trimming went smoothly. Price was reasonable.

The Davey Tree crew did an excellent job trimming pruning our 2 Honey Locust and 2 Maple trees. They spend many hours working hard on a very hot and humid day. We are pleased with end results! Thank you!!!

We requested some tree trimming (30 feet high or less) as well as clearing a parking area that had become overgrown. In Davey's estimate, it stated "Expose Concrete Slab in back yard by removing several weeds, invasive trees, and vines." Justin estimated it would take 3 people a full day.

When they were finished, the concrete slab had a couple of inches of dirt and debris covering it. Their contract states it has to be "rakeable," so I figured I'd clear it after work with a broom. It took a lot more than a broom. It was loaded with vines, weeds, and small to large branches. It took me 6+ hours to actually clear it that night. Justin left a message after my initial contact and offered to send people back to clean up the "leaf matter," but at that point I had already done it so we could use it the next day. The photos show what it looked like when Davey was finished (the shovel is mine), and what it looks like now after I've cleared it. I think the photos speak for themselves.

The 3 people who did the work were only here for 3 hours. Justin stated that the time difference between the estimate (8+ hours) and the actual (3 hours) was because I was "lucky" to get such an experienced crew. Those 3 hours cost me more than 3 grand.

Davey Tree said they were investigating, but they never contacted me again.

I had a fantastic experience with The Davey Tree Expert Company. The Arborist who came to scope out the job and provide a quote was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all my questions and providing helpful advice. He was also prompt and professional throughout the process. The tree-cutting crew did an excellent job — they worked efficiently, safely, and left my yard spotless once they were finished. I highly recommend this company for their expertise, reliability, and thorough cleanup.

We hired American Tree Service to remove a largish tree, tons of buckthorn hedge and trim our silver maple. They were fantastic to work with, very professional, used quality equipment, and did an exceptional job with removal and clean up. HIGHLY recommend!

Dean and all the rest of the employees from this company were professional. The communication was excellent. It started from the prompt free estimate, proposal and the acceptance procedure. The price was great. Dean called me to set up the day they would be coming. The team came did their work, and cleaned up the area. This is the 2nd time I have had this company do work for me. I will certainly be calling them again when I need another project completed.
