Very disappointing experience - had them use a camera to record our sewer lateral, only to find they couldn't fit us in, didn't reply to multiple messages and the video didn't have footage which left it useless for trying to work with the city on their damage to our line. We had to pay for 45 min of travel time (despite the fact it is 15 min away from our house). Over $600 wasted.

Had Gene Wagner Plumbing put in a new water heater. Competitive pricing, responsive, friendly and professional. Would recommend and have more work done in the future.

I have been using this company for the past 10 years in my rentals and in my home but this past times, pipes were replaced in may with pbc piping. Now im june we had the same problem, plugged drain in the tub, the same man came and said the pipes were rusted and needed to be changed although they weren't because we have pbc piping. I called the company everyday for one week to resolve this problem and they wont answer or call me back. I was over charged for absolutely nothing. The man came here, did nothing, he would walk in and out to only leave to sit in his truck, doing nothing to resolve the problem.

Fred came out for a faucet and disposal update in our kitchen. He was professional, on time, did a great job answering all my questions and the work was completed very well. Big thank you to him and the rest of the team!

Replaced a lead lateral about a year ago. Good work but both guys were in a bad mood the whole time about the job, upset about another guy they had to work with, how their education had them stuck in plumbing, etc. A few days ago, had a stuck shower valve. Asked them to replace the whole thing since the fixtures were old anyway. Guy comes and complains that it will take the whole afternoon and that it shouldn't have been scheduled on a Friday afternoon. Because of the cost, I ended up having him only replace the valve (only took one hour). Complained the whole time about the job, the parts not being right, etc. Both times they got the job done but I've never had such grumpy contractors in my house.

Inexperienced! Terrible service. You would think that a plumber who is supposed to be the expert would check to see if water pressure is isolated to a specific are rather than across the house. This guy shows up, takes advantage of an older couple, replaces a piece of pipe which has nothing to do with the issue at hand and then charges $250 for his labor. On top of that he suggests that every single pipe throughout the house must be replaced to resolve the issue. What kinda person takes advantage of an older couple like that. You should be ashamed of yourself. Root cause of the problem = water heater. Problem fixed. For services call Cox Plumbing. Much better experience, they serve entire Milwaukee area and they will work with you to understand the problem before start charging you arm and a leg for something non-related.
    BEWARE of this place.
    Cheers!

I am disappointed to write this because this is the first time in 8 years that i basically have a complaint with my single family and multi family homes that they have worked on. I dont like negativity so all my life, I just take my business elseware. The " work" itself has always been fine, this last job, very small 25 minute job being my drain wasnt clogged. Plumber was nice but To stretch an hour at $135.00 an hour plus parts and Fuel charge. I was billed for 1.25 hours and questioned it, little did i know that I am charged from when the plumber " calls the office" for his job assignment and the customer is billed from the time it takes to get to the location from where the plumber is calling from. I guess its my fault for not catching this but I will definately ask this question of any new Plumbing Company that I use moving forward. Im making the payment and shopping around. Side Note: I was the first stop.

Definitely recommend this plumbing company! Scott did an amazing job with the repair of a water main line. He is very skilled and to the point. This man has no time for games and will do the job as contracted and paid. I will forever keep them as reference for future tasks.

You are going to pay more than you would with a smaller outfit, but the little extra is worth it. They pull permits when needed, without having to ask, and you can be confident that all work will be done to current codes and standards. They have office help to answer calls during business hours and do all the paperwork required, so you'll have documentation if needed, and will never need to leave a voicemail. :-) I highly recommend them.

Very happy with Gene Wagner Plumbing. I manage a business in Hartland and we had a fire hydrant hit by a truck this winter. Contacted Gene Wagner, they communicated well, asked for some pictures, were able to give me a quote over email, and completed the work on time and at the quoted price. Thanks!

Absolute excellent service! My family has used Wagner's for 3 generations. Everything from major repair/ replacement of sewer lines, & water lines, from house to street, to little household things. Yes, sometimes i don't have call them for 5 -10 years, but when i do I get the same exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly, prompt, service. *Yesterday Wagner plumbing, sent a plumber, Dave, over to my house, to fixed a vent/ drain stack issue that effected 1st floor & 2nd floor sinks and the basement stationary tub, in a 70yr old house. An absolutely lousy, messy, labor intensive job, of opening/ cutting into drain and vent stacks. When Dave left, the issue was not only fixed, but now everything works better than new. Thanks Gene Wagner Plumbing ...... Eric M PS * you get what you pay for. Sending out a qualified, knowledgeable, licensed technician, truck, tools, parts, and insured, costs money. Of course I am going to pay more but it's well worth it. Having access to a commercial / industrial company for residential work, isn't cheap, but worth every dollar and then some. My drain / vent issue cost close to $1,000.00 dollars, done in one day. Had I tried to fix it with, my brother-in- law, and my buddies, using internet videos, it would have been a disaster. It would have taken us days, much more money and we still would not have been able to fix it. Get a Pro.....

I've used Gene Wagner for at least 10 years. Definitely not low cost but they show up on time and get everything done right. Fred spent 2 days in my new house fixing big plumbing issues and no one else will touch it now.

Called because we needed work on our hot water heater, and was very rudely told they do not service the brand heater we have. We called because they have done work for us prior and considered them a go to plumbing company. After their very rude customer service, we contacted a different company (Hartlaub) instead. They were very kind and helped us get the job done quick. We will definitely call them for future plumbing needs again instead.

Late yesterday afternoon, my 92 year old parents called me in a panic, that their faucet in the bathtub "broke" and they couldn't stop the water. They couldn't turn off the main water supply in the basement because the turn valve was rusted shut! We remembered seeing the "Gene Wagner Plumbing" trucks and called them. Within a half hour, "Dave" from Gene Wagner arrived at their home. He was able to repair the broken plumbing parts and turn the water back on! Dave was such a friendly man. He was able to calm my parents down within minutes! Not only is Dave a great plumber, but he knows how to relate to his customers. Dave, and Gene Wagner Plumbing, are now our family's go-to people for our plumbing needs. Quick response, fair pricing, and very efficient! Thank you!

I have had Wagner plumbing come to our house several times in the past and we have always been satisfied with the results until now. I had a leaking drain pipe. It rusted out near the basement floor. The plumber came to our house and spent maybe 20 minutes to tell us we were looking at a $1200 to $1500 repair bill. And for this bit of good news Gene Wagner plumbing charged us $150. They are only 5 blocks from our house. If we do have the repair done Gene Wagner wont do it. In fact they will never see the inside of our house again.

We have used Gene Wagner Plumbing for years for various tasks. They installed our hot water tank and have roto rooted our lateral preventing backups. They have always performed the work to the highest standards. They are professional and knowledgeable and have always been friendly. I have and will continue to recommend them to friends and family.

Plumbers are fine. The boss might want to revisit some policies.
Management: do you have so much work to choose from that you don't care about repeat business? I learned some new swear words while my rotten pipes were being replaced, which is usually entertaining. Unfortunately i suspect that this particular guy was overworked that day, as all of his previous appointments went long, meaning I waited for a while for him after scheduled time to show up. Once he was there, he did the work quickly.

9 hours later my tenant called to tell me the basement had water spraying from a pipe. It seems there was some dirt in one of the fresh solder joints, and the only solution was to shut the water off (again).. and call Gene Wagner to fix their work; but they wouldn't send anyone as it was after hours. The carpet and pad was soaked and I had to take leave from visiting with family from out of state to handle the situation. It took 3 of us 3 hours to remove the carpet and wet materials. Gene Wagner's concession? $40. If GW can bill $120 an hour, how much is my time worth ? $4.45 according to GW.

Work was scheduled weeks in advance and permit was not submitted until 3 weeks after.

I've called and spoken with the office lady multiple times. She's very friendly and apologetic. The real problem I have with the whole situation is they wouldn't fix their mistake because it happened outside bankers hours. Then they insult the value of my time and offer me $40? I would have preferred they keep the $40 and pay to re mediate the water damage to my basement. The last thing I wanted to be doing at 11pm on a Tuesday is carrying 60lb bags of wet carpet up the stairs.

Thanks GW. Your hourly employees are mostly friendly and I have nothing bad to say about them. It's the decision makers that will cause me to look for another plumber. I have paid my bill, but it will be the last time I call GW for anything.

I was initially impressed with how quickly they got someone to my house to diagnose a major plumbing issue. After the technician figured out it was a detachment from my main sewer lateral (meaning anything that went down our drains went directly into the foundation of our house), I paid the over $400 service fee and was told I’d be hearing back with an estimate and availability. That was basically the last I heard from the company. I called 2 times to try see when they would be out and never heard back from anyone. This company knew the severity of the issue and still left my family with absolutely NO information when this issue would be resolved or how much it would cost. I ended up hiring another company (Vesel Services) and they promptly fixed the problem.

My suggestion would be to call other plumbers before using Gene Wagner. I have used them in the past without any issues. This time I referred them to my son for a clogged valve in the kitchen sink, the work itself was fine and the problem was corrected. However, we were charged an additional $140 plus fuel cost of 7.50 for travel time from when the driver called in for the work order and the time he arrived at the house (38 minutes). There was no mention when we set up the appointment that the travel time would be extensive and costly. I found this odd and called other area plumbers who said they do not charge travel time on top of the work provided. (Most others charge a fee of maybe 95 dollars to come out and that amount is then put towards the word done). I spoke with Scott at Wagner Plumbing and he stated he would talk with the driver and get back to me which he did not. I waited 5 days and called again, he agreed that the travel time may have been high and stated that it is because it is based off of the location of where the last job was done and offered me a “coupon”. I called back and left a message for him to call me which he did not. I will not use them again or refer them to anyone, they are very unprofessional.

Have used them a few times in the past and had no problem with the service. Had them out this time to service a root clogged drain. Service guy was actually very nice but this cost me in the end. Since we have had this done multiple times it is usually a half hour job max.

This time the plumber was very talkative and though that was great and I didn’t mind talking to him, he was unable to snake drain and talk at same time. This drew out the whole thing to 1 hr and 45 mins. I was charged over 300$ for this. This is the same price as every after hours call we have made with this company in the past.

Will never use this company again. Because you are chatty doesn’t me I want to pay you 140$ a hour to hear it.

Angel is the one that came and helped with my plumbing emergency. He was polite and knowledgeable, very fast. It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.
