We always call Western Construction & Equipment every time we need our parking lot sanded. They are always quick to arrive and do a great job sanding the parking lot! Highly recommend!

An employee chipped 2 of the windows while weed whacking on JBER when confronted he had nothing but an attitude and repeatedly denied the incident I witnessed from my own vehicle.

The employee refused to give his name or mention the company he was working for or bother to take his head phones out and talk and or acknowledge the incident claiming no fault.

Although there was a vehicle from the company up the road I was able to speak with that got me in contact with the companies insurance and work the glass repairs some of the companies employees are better then others.

9/16 at portage trail Whittier Alaska. An excavator with tree clearing attachment was shooting debris(giant wood chunks) at cars and people walking down and parked at the trail head. Called the owner Paul Light and he said it’s not his fault the road should have been closed. So they must train their employees to shoot giant chunks of wood at people and property in the area. Reporting them to USFS, police, and contacting legal representation.

No one should intentionally try to harm people and property. It is negligent to operate with zero due diligence. The road should have been closed again and made safe to operate. You don’t potentially harm people for life just because the area should have been cleared.

Photos from after a majority of cars left trail head parking, which was not closed.

I called the night of this occurring and the owner was incoherent(sounded very very drunk). They never returned my phone call after he said he would, and I had to follow up 4 days later and received horrible service.

Western does a fabulous job with road maintenance winter and summer. I live in the Rabbit Creek area. Recent weather conditions have created very slick roads in our neighborhood. So bad that a 25 minute walk took 75 minutes even with my Olang boots on. I was greatly relieved when I saw their graters come up our road. Thank u from the bottom of my heart.

Had them build a front deck for me several years ago and slope the yard to the deck. They said they could build it just like my back deck, they didn’t and it cost me more to have them tear it out and fix it. The yard was to be the same grass but it is not and still a noticeable difference in color and texture from the rest of the yard. Buyer beware of this company. Finally got the lien off my house they put on it until I paid.

They did an office remodel for us last year. The permitting drug out forever (not their fault), but once they had it in hand they knocked it out quick. Super easy to work with and delivered.

Friendly and went out of their way when I was in a tough spot. Also, Quick to get a quote back which is extremely rare in this town. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again! Thank you so much for helping us with such kindness and professionalism.

I have used this company twice now for window replacement and general home repairs. Both times they have been extremely professional and polite. The work has been completed on time and correctly. I would highly recommend them for general contract work.

This is our second home construction project that we have had 84th Construction Comp. They are the very Best. Precise, thorough, and timely. I would have them do any project for my home both large and or small. They do excellent work and I enthusiastically recommend them for your Job!

Dustin remodeled our master bathroom in the winter of 2021. He did an excellent job, was responsive to our needs, attentive in all ways, and was very skilled as a contractor. He also has a great personality and works well with the public. Barb in Doug Griffin.

These guys were a nightmare. We had a house fire last year. We contacted this company to do the rebuild work. The first week they were great. Then they just went downhill. Didn't read the plans, didn't plan/schedule things ahead of time. Workers would only show up a couple days a week, a few hours at a time. My favorite guys were the two 70 year olds who were on perpetual break. We had to beg them all summer to get things done. Usually they would show up if they wanted some money. As soon as they got a check, they disappeared for weeks. We were compensated almost 9 months to live in a house from insurance. But because of 84th's inability to do a simple garage and entry way addition in a timely manner, Me, my wife and 2 small children had to stay in a 20' camper in our front yard for 3 months while they took their sweet time doing anything. I had to step in and perform drywall work and excavation work as well as repair framing to the house to speed the project up. I received no compensation for this labor.
Despite paying nearly 6 grand in project management fees, they did not bill my insurance correctly, then tried passing the costs on to me to the tune of 20 thousand dollars. You don't receive any kind of itemized billing (because we agreed to a set price) so it wasn't until the end of the project I realized how much over the budget they were. When asked about it I was given the response of " Oh I figured I would just charge you time and material because it was easier" So I asked for a time and material statement and never got one despite repeated requests. Even my attorney couldn't get one. Most of the charges were bogus as well. Which is probably why they did not submit to insurance. I ended up lawyering up but it was becoming to costly to fight. I'm sure they knew this going in. The guys wife is an attorney so they get the buddy rate for legal fees I'm sure. As of this writing they have not completed the warranty work around my house.
I cant say strongly enough to avoid this shady outfit.

I had torn out a bunch of soaked drywall from a punctured pipe but had no clue how to put the wall back together. While Ryan came out to give an estimate, I sought an estimate on installing flooring in our laundry room so that it gets done the right way the first time. Even during a busy season, 84th Street exceeded my expectations to get in to put the wall back up and then to install the flooring. Nice guys, professional, and conscientious of others during the work/school day (with kids doing school on computers and with face masking). I feel confident that my wife and I will recommend 84th Street help to others and seek their help on a next round of home improvements to our own home.

We found that our shower door had leaked and damaged the bathroom subfloor. Most contractors we called were too busy to come over, except for Ryan. He agreed to make an estimate, came in a timely manner, and very kindly explained everything to us. 84th Street Construction also agreed to do the job sooner when they learned that we had already taken the toilet off and couldn't use the bathroom.

The workman who did the job also came on time, offered to answer all our questions, and did his work cleanly and professionally. He even installed the new toilet for us despite it not being in the estimate. The job was done professionally and very quickly. We also found the price to be very fair.

We are very happy with the new subfloor and will gladly work with Ryan and 84th Street Construction in the future. Thanks guys!

A few years ago we had them put drainage in our back yard among other things. This year for the first time we've had enough snow to see the quality of their work during breakup and the system works perfectly. We have no puddles, the crawlspace is dry and no wet patches near the house. Well done guys, we are very pleased.

While they didn't get the job (full tear down and bathroom remodel) I wanted to say they were very fairly priced and the estimator did an AMAZING job listening and writing down everything that I wanted done. Definitely the best Estimate I received from any company I tried. Ended up getting a deal from a friend of the family/solo contractor or I would have chose them. (and it most likely wouldn't have taken 1-1/2 months to get it done HA!)

I have known Ryan, Dylan, and Evan for many years. They do incredible work. They helped me with a bunch of work when I purchased my condo. They recently painted a new commercial space I just move in to. They do great work and are extremely professional. I highly recommend them for any kind of residential or commercial construction work. They are also fun to have a beer with!

Ryan and Dylan along with the 84th St. construction team came in and moved walls, replaced windows did flooring, cabinets, and a plethora of other tasks for our remodel project. They were great at communicating taking on added surprises and the entire team were all great people to work with.

Just had a rather in-depth project finished by 84th Street and I'm very happy with the results. As a previous contractor myself I know quality work when I see it and they do just that. I can truly say they left my place better than it was originally constructed. The crew was extremely timely, used quality materials and as a bonus friendly. I've dealt with numerous contractors over the years in Anchorage and Ryan, Evan along with the crew are now my favorite. If you're in need of a good honest general contractor give these guys a shout!
