From start to finish, Tara and the crews that were sent to our house were great to work with!!! They get an A++++ for design, installation, and the follow up for how to take care of our new cacti, plants, and lighting.

They were wonderful to deal with and we're very happy how our front yard turned out. Tara, Tony and their whole team were very friendly and professional. And even with the craziness of Covid going on (where many contractors didn't even bother to respond) they were veryresponsive.

They were very flexible when I wanted to tweak our design a bit.

I'd recommend them to anyone looking to improve their landscaping.

There just aren't words to describe my amazing experience with The Desert Root Landscaping. From my initial contact with Tara to my completed walk through with Tony, all employees were professional, knowledgeable, meticulous, hard working, timely and courteous. I came to Tara with an extremely unusual project. She listened to my needs, offered valuable input and came up with a design that was not only within my budget but also gave me the landscaped home I had dreamed of for years. I have already referred them to several friends and will do so time and time again.

The Desert Root team did an excellent job in managing our backyard pool and landscape update this spring and have continued to be available for questions and concerns as they arise. From micro-climate identification through the final plant in place, no detail was left unattended. Very knowledgeable, great attention to all aspects of the project, and timely response to concerns and questions. If you are fortunate enough to work with them I am sure you will feel the same as I.

I recently reached out to The Desert Root to review some options to give my small side yard in Gilbert a reboot. I had pavers on my deck previously and it was just way too hot for my 3 pups so I wanted to explore some different options. After several discussions with Tara we went with replacing the pavered patio with shellstone pavers and adding 3 trellises with colorful flowered climbing vines and 2 vertical garden shelves to add herbs or succulents. Tara was great in giving me some great options and recommendations. We scheduled the work for the upcoming week and the crew got started on my yard make-over. Right before the install I received confirmation from my HOA that they had approved my request to repurpose my deck pavers with a new pavered walkway from the backyard to my driveway. I let Tara know about the walkway and she had the crew add that last minute change to the current work they were starting on the yard. The complete install took about 3 days and the final results are beautiful. The crew were all so nice and very meticulous in handling the sloping deck and walkway. They really did a wonderful job! Tara was always responsive to my myriad of questions (and I had many) and she really made the entire process a very smooth and stress-free experience. I also felt their prices were reasonable since they worked within my provided budget. I’d highly recommend DR to friends and for future projects. My 3 dogs now have happy feet and are very pleased with the final results as well! Thank you to the entire Desert Root team!

My wife and I reached out to The Desert Root to redo our entire front yard. We had grass, a tile walkway and patio, an old dead tree, and some irrigation problems.

Tara came out to get our information. She told us that they would be able to take care of everything for us. About a week later, she had a design ready and we were ready to move forward.

Tara submitted the documents to our HOA for their approval, scheduled the demo crew and the team completed our front yard in one week! Everything is exactly as we wanted. The crew walked through everything with us when they were done to make sure it was exactly as we wanted.

Desert Root helped design an L shaped outdoor kitchen that worked out nice for my double wide trailer. They helped me find someone who could extend my awning. Then returned to finish a walkway to the back yard. Very easy to work with, prompt and sensitive to my concerns. I am totally pleased with their work.

Loved working with Tara and everyone at the Desert Root. Prompt and flexible quote and the project turned out exactly how we had in mind. Tara was respectful about us changing our minds a thousand times even when it meant the quote dropped significantly when we decided to not do certain things we originally planned. Overall we had over thirty bushes planted and irrigation rerouted to all of them and the team did a phenomenal job with all we asked for. Could not recommend Tara and her team more. This review came out a bit late as we were settling in our new house. But I hope it's at the right time. Started to search for a good landscape company for our new home and we fortunately found Desert Root.
Tara - was so convenient in getting the designs out even though we had multiple alterations and discussion in getting things with in our budget. She was patient enough and passionate about what she is doing. Listening to her customer's need and constraints , then design the backyard accordingly including the material without compromising the quality of it. She gives you multiple options to pick , so you won't end up loosing your desired design.
Tony : He is a super human being and very thoughtful in any suggestions and implement the exact design given by Tara. He is so humble and explains very bit of the irrigation or if any alterations needed in your design. When there was an irrigation issue , he came immediately to the spot and listen to the issue and addressed it by himself. His suggestion towards WiFi irrigation system is very useful. He is assisting us if we counter any issues while using it.
I very much impressed with this team esp Kage and his teammates are so hard working and perfectly finished the work on the time they promised. They will handover the backyard completely cleaned and shelved the left overs wherever you want them to. They also told me the plants they have given and the all the materials are covered for a year time.
We are so much impressed with this team and also planned to go with them for Phase 2 of my backyard as well.

Desert Roots did great with my backyard! They did an awesome job with the pavers, walkways, turf, and gravel. Their team was friendly, hardworking, and kept me in the loop the whole time. We're happy that we chose them!

Desert Root was absolutely phenomenal. We had an outdoor lighting system that was original to our home (over 20 years old) that had reached the end of its life.

Tara & team gave us a new system that blends in much more to the natural environment. The communication and process was seamless.

We have a large yard so there was quite a bit of trenching that needed to be done from the control box to the actual lights. The speed that they did this and the care they took in replacing the displaced dirt & rock was very impressive. I thought we might have some cleanup to do after the work, but there was nothing for us to do other than enjoy the new lights.

There was a minor warranty repair issue that popped up a few days later, and Desert Root had it resolved in under 24 hours.

Perfect design with exceptional customer service!  I found Dessert Root through an Instagram post that caught my eye.  I reached out to them in Arizona because I was unable to find a local company in Utah to work with on a landscaping design for a new home that could meet my timeline.  The design team was quick to respond and excited to assist.  I gave some initial thoughts on my expectations, and Tara produced a beautiful design.  I had some additional requests once I saw the design and she was quick to incorporate the changes and get the design back to me.  The team also went above and beyond by researching and providing plant options that were local to Utah that would thrive in our weather.  I could not have asked for a better experience and my yard now looks amazing!

I found Desert Root while searching for a local company online. The previous reviews set high expectations....all of which were met. I wish every company was this easy to work with. My project included the complete landscaping of a backyard with grading, irrigation, trees, trellised vines, lush and varied planting, pet turf and a dry creek bed. This whole task was efficiently completed within just a few days despite being interrupted at times with heavy rains. This great team went above and beyond in every aspect. Project Manager, Tara is professional, organized and maintained excellent communication throughout the process so there were no surprises. Designer, Denzell took my amateur napkin sketches and plant wish-list and turned it into a classy magazine cover-worthy design. The 3D imagery that she created allowed me to confidently pick the elements we wanted and fine tune the plan while staying within budget. Jaden and Travis have great work ethic and are a pleasure to work with. They were meticulous about every detail in the garden and it really shows in the end product. Project Captain, Tony expertly fixed grading issues and created an irrigation system that allows me to have an almost maintenance free oasis, even down to self-watering pots on my patio. I am so thrilled with the results. Our new sanctuary is gorgeous. I am happy to provide a full recommendation for Desert Root.

It’s been a year now since we invited the good folks at “the Desert Root” to improve our backyard living space. What was previously a cold and uninviting area has since been transformed into our favorite retreat. In fact, it has continued to get better over time as the plants have grow and things have become more established. From the design phase through the construction process and grand finale, our experience has been nothing but extreme satisfaction. I am so pleased and impressed with the work The Desert Root provided for my landscaping needs. I wanted a complete new design and low maintenance for my backyard. From my first meeting with Tara she was very knowledgeable and helpful in designing a plan that exceeded my expectations.
