CYC Landscaping helped us create an environment for our home and family that we are using to make memories. Their creativity and customer service are top notch!!

Met with Deb to review the landscaping needs for my backyard. She provided a quote but there were a few questions / changes and I wanted an updated quote. She never got back to me after one phone call and 3 emails. Very poor customer service. One star is being over generous.

CYC Landscaping did a complete remodel of our backyard living space with amazing results. The new built in barbecue/bar is fantastic and the additional travertine pavers added so much more usability to the existing space, with great drainage as the recent Monsoon rain tested. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark Wentland and his landscaping crew for any job big or small.

Disappointed in the lack of followup and communication. Met CYC Landscaping to review a complete front yard remodel. Received a rough draft and submitted a few minor revisions. When I didn't hear back I followed up via email and received an apology, that they were out on vacation and would be back to me by the end of the week. Almost 2 months later and nothing. I would suggest investing your time elsewhere.

We moved into new home 9 months ago that had nothing in the front or back. We had a grading issue in the back where the yard sloped away from the patio but when it rained the water would creep up towards the home.
We wanted to build up the yard past the patio so the water didn't come near the home. We had 3 companies come to quote. One company that we had used before and was A rated with BBB wouldn't even quote it since they didn't want to deal with bringing in a lot of dirt and compacting it to build up our yard before they could do the typical artificial grass, rocks, shrubs and plants. The 3rd company we had quote scribbled a few lines on a paper with no detail whatsoever and definitely not addressing what we needed done.
Mike from CYC sat down with us and listened carefully and drew up a plan with details and a drawing. They started when they said they would start and finished in a timely manner.
Along with building up the backyard with new soil and compacting it, we had a retaining wall installed around the perimeter of the back. They waterproof painted the inside of the retaining wall.
We had an irrigation timer installed and irrigation lines run to the front yard and backyard. They also installed a large artificial grass area (made in the U.S.), a paver border, numerous tons of rocks, dozens of shrubs and two trees.
They were professional and did a great job.
As part of the plan, they had one of their guys come back in a week to adjust the timer on the irrigation but I find you have to know your own soil and watch how the trees and shrubs do and adjust accordingly. We have extremely clay soil so it retains the water and cannot withstand the "standard" watering schedule.

CYC Landscaping visited my house to provide a quote for some basic landscaping. I wanted a 6 ft BBQ island, a 3x5 foot fire pit, pavers and a 10x12 foot putting green with two cups. I talked to several landscapers previously to get an idea of price. CYC Landscaping quoted me over $32,000 for this job, a whopping $10,400 higher than my next highest quote! Not even remotely in the ballpark. The very same day I received the quote, I emailed with some simple questions. I never heard from CYC again. It’s highway robbery and my guess is they knew it. I look at it as someone trying to blatantly take advantage of another. Please proceed with caution.

We had Mark from CYC landscaping come and look at our backyard and told us will provide us the estimate, but even after multiple follow ups I never got the estimate. If they did not want to provide estimate not sure why they wasted our time coming and checking the backyard.

We had been clients of CYC Landscaping for about a year and a half. The past few months' services have been slipping. I called Mandy to report a missed service and she told me she would call Reed to see when the crew could get back out to complete the job. Four days later I received a voicemail from Reed that the crew would be there the same day, and to call him with any questions. When I called Reed to report that his crew had never shown up, I was chastised for calling at 6:50 pm. He did not state that I should call between certain hours in his voicemail. Instead, he made it seem as if it was my fault for bothering him while he was spending time with his daughter. I requested a refund and cancellation of service and received both. The owner sent me an apology email claiming, “Unfortunately, hiring quality people seems to be getting harder by the day.“ This is a fallacy to avoid the real issue here: MANAGEMENT. The first reaction is to blame their employees for management's ineffective leadership. Reed needs to brush up on his customer service skills, and Mandy needs to learn how to effectively communicate with her crews, and more importantly, the clients. Good people are everywhere. CYC’s management does not know how to lead. At no time did any manager, or the owner, bother to pick up a phone and call me to discuss what was going on with our service. From the sound of his email, it has been some time since they have had any consistency. It seems they are going to continue having issues going forward. Beware and inspect the work to see if it has been truly finished.

I relocated from Ohio to the Phoenix area and was clueless about the irrigating system and how much water these heat-tolerant plants, grasses, trees, and shrubs need. I was even more clueless about the irrigation systems and the different types of drip heads.

The first step was to make sure that the irrigation system was working to I called CYC Landscaping. They sent out what I believe was their best technical, Matt.

Matt arrived on time and went right to work. He kept me informed on everything that he did and he educated me on my system and what I needed to do going forward to ensure that I took good care of all of the plants in my yard.

He showed me how to troubleshoot my system and explained why I was probably having the few problems that I knew I was having.

Matt also directed me to CYC's website so that I could educate familiarize myself with the watering guideline for my landscaping.

Matt gets my vote for the CYC employee of the month for the month of Sept 2020.

I edited my review to 5 stars - they came back and installed the correct color pavers. They look great and I appreciate their efforts to make it right.

UPDATE: CYC Landscaping reached out to me this morning. They were able to get a hold of the right pavers and are replacing them at no charge this week. If the quality of work is as good the second time around, they'll definitely earn back those two stars.

Starting the project was great. We got a design back quickly and the designer was helpful to keep us in budget. He had some really good cost saving ideas. I only have 3 stars though because of a MAJOR issue at installation. The pavers, which I based my color choices around, weren't available and they NEVER told me. I came home on day one of work to find the pavers were the wrong color. I absolutely hate them and I am not at all happy with the overall look. If they would have notified me as soon as they knew, we could have changed the design or come up with some solution. Instead, the yard was all dirt and the pavers were three quarters of the way installed. The only option I was given was to stop the project until I picked out new colors. Not only did I not want a yard of dirt, they were telling me the pavers were only being made in the one color, so there was nothing else for me to pick out. I understand that a manufacturer issue is not their fault, but them not telling me the pavers I wanted weren't available is 100% on CYC. They did nothing to take responsibility, just blamed manufacturing and left me with ugly pavers that were supposed to be the focal point of the yard. Oh, but they did offer to come back and install the right pavers when they came back in stock..for an extra cost! It's a shame because everything else about the process was great. The workers were respectful, quick, tidy, and did a good job. They would have gotten 5 stars had they handled the situation appropriately.

Shout out to Clate Russell & CYC Landscaping for remodeling my front and backyard! They did an excellent job.

I was going through the eviction process with my tenants, and they ended up leaving in the middle of the night. My house was destroyed and my $400 cactus was dead...in Arizona. My pool was greenish black and my yard was so destroyed. It has been a process getting the house fixed back up, but CYC made everything less stressful in completing the front and back. The job was done in very little time, done beautifully, and Clayton was very communicative during the whole process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the valley.

The back yard is astro turf with a 10 year warranty and the front had the grass ripped out and put down the gorgeous pebble.

CYC did a phenomenal job laying two paver pads at our house, 16' x 10' and 8.5' x 10', a paver border for a walkway, and redid the irrigation. I appreciated working with Mike to plan the work, he communicated with me and met in-person for the quote and initial measurements. They didn't take issue that I provided my own pavers instead of buying through them. Ace and his crew did a great job even with my last minute changes to the plans. There was a slight issue with one of the paver borders being laid on a slope but I called and they had Colby, a warranty worker, out the next day to level and re-lay the section. I'm thoroughly impressed with the service, work, warranty, and quality of our yard and will gladly use CYC in the future!

CYC Landscaping is a professional organization that lives by the motto, "Do what you say you will". Our designer, Michael Larchick was very professional and walked us through the design process. He was not only patient, but provided suggestions for the best design for our backyard. CYC uses top quality products and materials in our installation and met our expectations and timeline. We were so pleased with the results with the backyard, we also contracted CYC to design/install our front yard as well! Thanks CYC!

CYC and Mike G. designed and completed the backyard of our newly built home. From the very first meeting, we were impressed by the professionalism and quality of the company. The plants were large and our garden was beautiful and inviting from day 1. We have called the company after installation with questions . They have always responded quickly to our concerns. CYC designed and completed my backyard landscaping project 5 years ago, and have come back and added lights, new plants, etc.everything looks great and functions perfectly.
Had an issue over the weekend with the lighting control system, called Monday, set up service call for Tuesday, Matt and Mason, the technicians arrived and replaced the unit at no cost. Super professional and informative.

Best landscape design company in the valley. They are not in it for a quick sale, but take the time to listen and review your design. The install crew was amazing as well they treat your home like it is their own.

CYC Landscaping did a fantastic job on our backyard remodel! Mike Grosstick was there to answer our questions, ease our concerns, and ensure that we stayed happy throughout the entire project, from planning, work, and the final walkthrough. We are very happy with how our backyard project turned out. They even came back 6 months after the job to repair a leaky drip line, and to make some minor adjustments to the turf in areas that had become uneven due to some settling of the ground underneath at no additional cost to us. First of all Bob was extremely helpful ,courteous and patient with my many plan revisions. The crew were punctual,friendly,and left no messes for us. They were very helpful with all the questions we had. Every one in the office was also very friendly and helpful.
The landscaping turned out to be everything they said it would be and we would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I have worked with CYC Landscaping on projects at 2 different houses I have owned. They have been extremely responsive to all of my needs. They have showed up when they said to all of our appointments, given great ideas and even supplied me with a detailed drawing showing exactly what they were going to do in my yard. Most importantly, when it came time to do the project I had a detailed timeline of when the project would be completed and they met it every time. As with any project, there can be hiccups, but CYC always remedied those issues quickly and made my yard look amazing. I cannot recommend them enough.

I found their information while they were finishing another job in Coronado, Phx. They were super responsive and easy to work with throughout the job.
Chris visited our site multiple times to help with all our questions and explain the steps in detail. We had some issues during installation but they handled all of them very professionally and overcome all the challenges.
Reed and his site crew were super kind and hardworking.
