Electrical reviews in Scottsdale, Arizona

We recently worked with Colonial for a patio and BBQ project. From start to finish, their team was easy to work with, responsive, and highly professional. They demonstrated deep expertise, ensuring every aspect of the job was handled professionally.
What truly set them apart was their willingness to accommodate our requests and adjustments throughout the project. Whether it was last-minute design changes or specific electrical questions and recommendations, they handled everything seamlessly and with a positive attitude. Their flexibility made the entire process stress-free and efficient.
If you're looking for an electrical company that prioritizes customer satisfaction, brings extensive knowledge to the table, and works with you every step of the way, I highly recommend Colonial Electric. I will be calling them for all my electrical needs. -
Colonial Electric is great. They replaced the panel at our house and did some related upgrades in 2024. This week Justin and Devon came out to answer some follow-up questions and talk about our changing power needs. As in 2024, the service was on time, efficient and exactly what we needed. I know nothing about electrical systems, so I especially appreciate that the folks at Colonial Electric provide understandable explanations (more than once if necessary), point out the item or spot they are talking about, describe recommendations and options clearly (again, more than once if necessary) and don't put on pressure for decisions. I highly recommendation Colonial Electric.

Zach came to our home to install a new breaker for us. He was nice and friendly and quick. We were contacted ahead of and he arrived promptly. I would definitely use Mr. Sparky for any future electrical issues.

Jerry was amazing!
Knowledge, kind, and very helpful.
The cost is higher then I have experienced in the past, but maybe an example of "you get what you pay for" -
Terry did a great job. Showed me what I needed to know, how to reset the breaker if it trips. And how the GFI’s work. He also gave my microwave its own breaker. I am now up to code. Plus I am now up to code with my fire alarms. Also had all my outlets and switches replaced they were not installed properly I feel safer now. Thank you Terry so glad to have Mr. Sparky helping me along.

Liam W. came out to make an assessment and give an estimate. He did a great job of looking everything over and explaining what would need to be done. Very satisfied with how much clarity he provided. He’s pleasant to speak with and very down to earth.

Mario was courteous and very professional. What we thought would be a quick fix on a single smoke alarm ended up being a full replacement of all of our detectors. Even though it was late on a Saturday evening, Mario made a trip back to the workshop to get all the parts he needed so the job could be completed that night.

These guys were professional, informative and just great. I have more projects for them in the future. Leif and Terry explained everything in layman’s terms so I could understand. My home is safe again because of Mr Sparky

Leif was very professional and very knowledgeable. He was very thorough and spent time taking pictures and explaining to us what each picture meant. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we need some work done, and done soon.

Not really sure what to say about this company. They have a lot of good reviews. However, I called them to fix one outlet. They presented me with three options ranging from $9K down to $4K. All I wanted was one outlet fixed not a grounding system to protect me from lightening while showering (I live in Arizona it rains 5 days a year). Ultimately, they could not troubleshoot the issue with the outlet and presented me with an option to pay $1K to wire a new outlet. In the end, the technician presented me with a bill for $129 for his time and some annual inspection which I have no idea what this annual inspection even covers or why I need it. It was my understanding the trip charge was $29. At this point, $129 felt like a good deal compared to $9K so I paid it to get this company out of my house. The technician is a nice enough kid, but I’m not sure if he is an electrician or salesperson. I would argue he’s not good at either because he could not determine what is wrong with my outlet and he kept trying to sell me crap I didn’t want or need. I’m only leaving this review because they keep texting me asking to leave a Google review so this is my honest opinion.

Josue Bermejo provided excellent service in repairing an emergency power outage and walked me through the process for my own understanding. He was at my house in a reasonable amount of time, was quick to diagnose the problem, and explained potential solutions before fixing. Greatly recommend!

I had Jerry R come by and he is great. He is personable, thorough with his troubleshooting, insightful, and most importantly honest !! Gave me the real honest breakdown of my cost for a big project which was I was hesitant about doing before. But after calling, I’m glad I did. I’ll be calling back again and requesting him for any and all of my electrical needs.

Mr Routan did a safety inspection & quoted replacing fluorescent fixtures with LED fixtures. He was exemplary, an excellent representative of his company. He arrived on time, viewed the job, explained various options. After I decided what I wanted, he discussed details thoroughly. I found the quote to be about what I expected based on my research. The work is scheduled for tomorrow . Mr Routan explained that the two LED fixtures being installed tomorrow (12/21/25) have a 7 yr warranty. He is professional, personable, and is an asset to your company.
I shall do another review on the actual installer(s) after the work is completed.

These guys were a perfect example of professionalism. They did their diagnosis and clearly explained the problem and the solution. I had them go ahead and do the work, which they had supplies in the truck to be able to complete it. Super fun and friendly and quick. They even used shoe covers inside my home. I will use these guys again. When I have my next issue

Josue communicated very well the problems he discovered. He offered options and explained the advantages and disadvantages.
He was sympathetic to our business cost overage and attempted to keep the repair costs under control. We appreciate him and Mr. SPARKY and have added you to our preferred vendor list for future work. -
Ean was knowledgeable, punctual and polite. He patiently listened to our thoughts on replacement kitchen lights for our house. He recommended places where we could get good quality fixtures for our replacement lights. He also inspected our breaker box and provided us with information concerning the shortcomings of our 40 year old equipment as well as explaining what should be done to replace our old equipment and the installation of current, modern features. Ean was great to work with.

The Mister Sparky electrician arrived at my house right on time. He was very polite and professional. Before doing any work he tried to upsell me on what amounts to a service plan. While priced high for the services that would be rendered, I carefully considered the offer but ultimately turned it down.
I explained that I simply needed a light switched changed out. I had changed out others myself but this one was giving me trouble for some unknown reason. Also, if he had time, one other switch was working intermittently. The technician typed into his iPad and then showed me the price to be charged on the iPad. $470 for what might take 30 minutes at most. I thanked him for his time and sent him on his way. In my opinion, as a licensed general contractor, their pricing is outrageous. -
I called dispatch and they did not disclose that they would send an agent that would charge a diagnostic fee. I was just aware of a $29 dispatch fee. The agent said they wanted to replace all the circuit breakers and install a surge protector and that it would cost $2,8xx. This is in response to me calling about 220V line that wasn't working (for our dryer). I said I would think about it and then they wanted to charge me a $223 diagnostic fee. Since this was not disclosed ahead of time I objected and the agent said that was fine. I'm going to do some shopping around and see if $2,800 is correct but a little bit of exploration with ChatGPT seems to hint that it's quite high. Also the agent said that our house is not up to code if we don't have a surge protector and new circuit breakers. ChatGPT could not confirm that it's a necessity to replace all the circuit breakers and to install a surge protector.
The agent did a lot of discussion about warranty service that would include cleaning ceiling fan blades changing light bulbs and Etc. All I wanted was to have a good solid source of 220 volts into my laundry room. -
Josue was super helpful. He was very professional and kind. Answered all my questions. He pointed out potential issues I need to have completed and gave me more cost effective options- when the other electrician we had come out quoted us 10k for with out even letting us know that it can be helped with maintenance rather than replacing. We will be working with them again in the near future! Thank you again Josue
