Back in July my thermostat was having issues with shutting off after turning on the AC for a while. I filed a claim with my warranty and Marathon Heating & Cooling came out. They immediately said all our system's tubing was installed incorrectly so there was no way the warranty would cover it but they said they could fix it for $1000. At the time the price seemed extremely high so we wanted to get a second opinion. In addition, we had a new thermostat we wanted to install and asked if they could wire it for us since they were already there. The technician said he could do it but would charge $100 to install, which we paid to get that project out of the way. So they installed the thermostat and left.
We then ended up getting a second opinion for the original issue and the company that came out for the second time said $1000 quote to fix what was wrong was predatory and ridiculous. The new company ended up fixing the issue on the spot in less than an hour for $265. It turned out our condensate just needed to be re-piped. Our AC worked fine after that.
Fast forward to winter and we are now trying to use the heater and our thermostat instantly shuts off and is not responding. We called the company that fixed the previous issue and they found that the thermostat that Marathon Heating & Cooling installed was completely wired wrong! And on top of that they had left a live wire exposed in the wall which could have been a disaster. All in all - everything Marathon Heating & Cooling did and said was completely wrong.
I would NOT trust Marathon Heating & Cooling.

You won’t find anyone more knowledgeable about components & systems anywhere. Troy, the owner and technician extraordinaire, is not only up-to-date on all such systems, his integrity & honesty are unsurpassed. If he can fix it, he’ll do just that. No song and dance about selling you a new system if he can keep your old one kicking. My husband and I refuse to use anyone else in the HVAC industry. Troy has also kept our other Tucson properties cool and / or heated for over a decade. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to give Troy (or Brian in the office) a call. Marathon has a great team of knowledgeable techs too. Can’t recommend this company enough.

Troy is an excellent technician and trouble shooter. He brought one unit back to life and pushed back a replacement. He explained our options for the larger unit and helped us decide on the best system for us and the climate. He and his men kept their appointments, worked quietly and neatly, and completed the installation within the time promised. He was also available to answer questions. I would recommend Troy and Marathon without reservation.

We needed a new heater system but we know we could not afford one. So, we decided get a estimate to repair. However, when Marathon crew came, and heard our situation..... they decided to put a new heater with no cost for us. Praise God 👏 Thank you for your generous heart to look after needy. Jesus was nothing but kind when he came to fix our A/C. He was quick, efficient, polite, and explained things very well. We ordered a part through him and the day it arrived he immediately came over to install it. Great service and I will be requesting him for all other A/C issues!!

Jesus received a work order and arrived within 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and fixed an electrical problem with the HVAC. Cool air was flowing about an hour later. Thank you!
