The job included three parts.
First-rejuvenation pruning of an old fig tree. The bitter cold snap this past winter was too much for the exposed parts of the plant. Many new stems are growing at the base. With the large trunks removed, the bush will be more accessible. Cedric and his men managed to control the tallest 20 foot tall trunk so that all of the wildflowers in the area with the exception of a stem or two were preserved.
Second-installing a drain under a walkway to divert water from a downspout away from the house's foundation as well as away from the underside of the driveway.
Third-removal of long term nandina bushes along one side of the house. Efforts to remove these sturdy shrubs by hand came to nought. Cedric had to rent a Bobcat excavator to dig out these large plants.
They carried all the plant material to the curbside to be picked up by the city.
Overall my daughter, the home owner, was very pleased to have these jobs completed in as timely a fashion as could be done due to the persistant rainfall this spring.

I had a 125 foot problem along a fence line that desperately needed help. I contacted Cedric and requested his advice and a quote for the work needed. His quote was very reasonable and Cedric along with his staff attacked the problem space and successfully converted an eyesore into a wonderful bed with plants and a river rock base. Excellent work and I could not ask for more cooperation and attention to detail that was displayed by everyone involved in the project. 👍👍

I'm planning a DIY project to drain standing water from my yard. Cedric was nice enough to come out and give me a consultation. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. I'll follow his advice to the letter and If I get stuck he'll be the first one I call to finish the project! I would definitely recommend giving him a call.

I have attempted to get multiple landscaping companies (4) to quote a drainage issue. They would get me scheduled but no call no show. Going The Extra Mile was able to come out give me a quote and multiple options within two days. They are very knowledgeable and professional.

I was going to leave a lengthy review... but decided not to. Made arrangements to meet twice over a months time... never showed up. My husband went with another company on our one property spent over $2k and I spent over $2k with our current property with my garden bed. I still need standing water issue fixed. Will find a more caring company to do so that won't judge based off of area.

Follow up: 4/21/23 After posting review, someone from the company did show up quickly and gave a quote. Matter of fact showed up at least three times since the review. I was told that they couldn’t find the home through gps and that can be an issue but most people would call and ask for directions. We did get a quote and initially was going to use them but found another company to install a French drain to keep the water from going under our house at a way cheaper price.

The company title describes this team. Cedric and his team responded to our request/need in a timely fashion, which helped us out tremendously. They are friendly, professional and do quality work. This is the second time we’ve used this company and will do so again should the need arise.

Going the Extra Mile got the job done quickly, professionally, and for a great price. Cedric responded quickly to my quote request and any questions I had along the way, and the work they did was excellent. I had them clean-up my flower beds, and put in some mulch and sod; and I'll definitely go back to them for any future landscaping needs!

Dependable, reliable, courteous and trustworthy describe Cedric and his Going The Extra Mile Landscape and Lawn Maintenance team. Since July 2011, Cedric and his team have mowed, trimmed shrubs and trees, mulched, weeded, and serviced our sprinkler system. We have been extremely pleased with the services provided and would highly recommend Cedric and his team.

First house with a sprinkler system, so I am new to the game. I already busted a part failing to winterize my first year in, so I wasn't taking any chances. This past winter, I called someone to winterize the sprinkler system. So when it came time to start the sprinklers back up, I should call someone to help with that. I called Going the Extra Mile. They walked me through the process, explaining what they were doing as they went. One of the sprinkler heads did not come up, and they were easily able to identify what was causing the problem and to fix it right up. They were professional and affordable. Great work!

Cedric and his crew did a fantastic job installing French drains, landscaping, sodding and fence repair for my back yard. My back yard looks awesome and it was worth every penny. They definitely went the extra mile. I love spending time outside now. I would highly recommend them.

We had them replace a retaining wall along a 100 ft. driveway bed complete with new drainage system and create a rock stairway down a rough grade in the backyard to our swing set. They promptly came out for the estimate, started the job exactly when they said they would, charged exactly what they said they would charge and stayed with the job until it was done. They cleaned up their mess and left us with a really nice result. How many contractor jobs go that smoothly? We will be calling them again for other projects!

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with Going the Extra Mile Landscaping. I had patio and drainage work done by the company and both were very poor quality/not properly competed; I had to compete/repair work myself and will have to hire another company to further correct. The patio work started to fail within a week and looks awful just months after the the company completed their work; the patio has already completely failed in a number of months from work completion. The workers also damaged our sprinkler system by dumping stone on pipes and cutting other pipes which cost me $1500 to repair. I evaluated reviews and thought I made a good choice in hiring this company for my projects but quickly grew disappointed, which was expressed to Cedric at the time, including explaining that the work was not properly completed. Cedric is pleasant and showed up (not always common) but the patio work is just upsetting and will have to be completely reworked. It's unfortunate that I am unable to recommend for drainage, masonry or patio projects. I cannot speak to yard cleanup basic landscape projects. I do not like leaving negative reviews but feel requests for corrections/completion were not properly addressed and those evaluating reviews for similar projects may wish to be aware of this customer's experience.

This is the 3rd straight year I’ve used Cedric and his crew for leaf removal. They are thorough, punctual, and they work hard and efficiently. The price matches the value of their work, and if I need any other landscaping jobs in the future, I’m calling them first. Thanks to the crew again for another great job and for being able to fit me into your schedule.

I needed 12 trees planted and didn’t know any landscaping companies in the area so I did a search and then emailed a few candidates. Cedric responded quickly. He was the only one to respond. Then he drove 40 miles to my place on Super Bowl Sunday (!) to give me an estimate. Once my trees arrived he immediately came over and planted them. Very timely and professional !

Cedric and Going the Extra Mile have been great to work with. Since moving here, they have helped us with landscaping, backflow (RPZ) maintenance, sprinkler maintenance and more.

Cedric and his team completely redid our back yard due to a huge drainage problem. Cedric recommended a solution, and it works beautifully. They terraced the yard and installed beautiful rocks and stepping stones in some places and replaced the sod in others. They also trimmed tree branches, mulched our front and back flower beds, cleaned our back yard fence so it looks new, installed a taller privacy fence on one side of our property, and added some new plants. We couldn't be more pleased. He and his crew are hard workers and very pleasant gentlemen, and we highly recommend them!
