I rarely write reviews but felt I just had to as I was totally impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of Cesar, Leo and Michael of Charlie’s Sewer & Drain router. In February I had a sewer stoppage, I called another plumbing company in San Marino they came out and supposedly cleared my drains 40 feet out to the street. All together my sewer line backed up 3 times in approximately six weeks and each time this plumbing company in San Marino said they had cleared everything to 40 feet out to the street.
Fast-forward 7 weeks and you guessed it another sewage back up, the original company would not come out without another exorbitant fee , so out of frustration I looked on yelp and found Charlie’s Sewer & Drain router, Lulu the receptionist was able to schedule me within 1 1/2 hours. Cesar, Leo and Michael came out after I explained to them that since February (3 months) I’ve had four SEWER stoppages!
Cesar suggested that we put a camera in the sewer line to see what is going on because this shouldn’t happen especially if the previous company had actually cleared my lines 40 feet out to the street. After Cesar put the camera in the sewer line he saw that there was a complete blockage with roots approximately 15 feet from the washout and another one at 20 feet. He said it was impossible in six weeks to have those types of complete blockages if in fact, the previous company had cleared the lines 40 feet out. Needless to say I had them clean the line and it was 50 feet and not 40 feet to the city sewer main. After he was done, he again ran the camera 50 feet into my drain line and showed me that my 4 inch sewer line was completely clear. I can’t say how happy I am that I made that phone call to Charlie’s SEWER & Drain Rooter they are my new go to plumbers.
So if you want to avoid the mistake I made by calling another plumbing company, call Charlie’s Sewer & Drain router first. You will be pleasantly surprised.

We recently had both our kitchen drain and main line sewer back up. On two separate occasions we received friendly customer service, prompt responses, and exceptional service. They explained what the issues were, quoted a fantastic price, and performed the service. Best of all, they were meticulous and left the work area cleaner than when they arrived. Fully recommended.

Found Charlie's and called them today for a clogged drain. I'm happy to share that a real person answered the phone and they were able to schedule an appointment this afternoon. Josh showed up on time, checked everything out and recommended using the hydro jet to clear the line. Francisco arrived 15 minutes later and ran the hydro jet to clear the blockages. Josh made video of the drain line before and after and shared it with me. They both communicated very well and made sure I was informed on what they were doing and what needed to be done. I really appreciate everything Josh and Francisco did to take care of the clog so quickly!

Professional service that was timely, polite and comprehensive. It was easy to work with them and I felt that they were very experienced. Overall, would use them again.

Saved Me from a $16,000 Mistake – Charlie’s Sewer & Drain is the Real Deal!
I cannot say enough good things about Charlie’s Sewer & Drain. They are honest, professional, responsive—and most importantly, they saved me from being completely taken advantage of by another company.
I initially contacted Rooter Man Plumbing due to a plumbing backup. They jetted the line, which temporarily fixed the issue. But just two weeks later, the same problem happened again. Rooter Man came back and told me I needed a cleanout, which I agreed to have them install. After exposing the line, they came back the next morning with a camera and told me that my 62’ drain line from the garage to the street was clay pipe, in disrepair, and needed to be completely replaced—for over $16,000.
That number was shocking, and thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion. That’s when I called Charlie’s Sewer & Drain and spoke directly with Charlie. He was incredibly kind and understanding and came out within the hour. After scoping the same line, Charlie quickly discovered that my pipe wasn’t clay at all—it was ABS plastic and in perfect condition. He even documented the entire inspection on video.
I contacted the same supervisor at Rooter Man to share Charlie’s findings, and at first, he insisted I was wrong and that it was definitely clay. But after I showed him the video proof, he changed his story and claimed his misdiagnosis was due to using a black and white camera. At that point, I immediately terminated any further work with Rooter Man and hired Charlie and his team to complete the job instead.
If it weren’t for Charlie’s honesty, integrity, and deep knowledge, I could have been out $16,000 for absolutely no reason. He saved me from a huge financial mistake, and I can’t thank him enough.

Our house sewer line collapsed so we called Charlie's. They came out immediately to assess the situation. They were totally cool with us getting other estimates and working on our schedule. Upon learning that I have terminal cancer, they gave us a discount and sent a beautiful plant to our primary home in Minnesota. The work was done quickly and cleanly, even our neighbor commented that they couldn't tell Charlie's had been there. Charlie even came by just to say hello. This is mid-west level courtesy and service, in Burbank! I can't imagine why you would call anyone else.

I had flooding in my backyard. Francisco and his team came out quickly and assessed the problem. Unfortunately, I had a couple of pipes that needed to be replaced. They worked hard and took care of the issue quickly before the next storm system comes in. They were great to work with so I'm glad I gave them a call.

Charlie's is the best. Quick response, great team and reasonable costs. Josh had our issue fixed right away- he's the best. Always our go to for plumbing issues!

I am one who uses reviews as a tool. I look at the 1 and 2 star reviews first. As a business owner, I understand that not all reviews are honest. Many complaints are biased and unwarranted, as they are from individuals that only want what they want. Most of these should be taken with a grain of salt.
With this said, I will give you only facts. The crews that I worked with were great! Josh, Leo, Luciano, and a couple others did a very dirty mob and left me with a very clean work area. Thanks to them for their professional attitude. The estimate I received was very reasonable. I had estimates for the job that were higher.
The guys that helped me, I would use again. Thanks to all of you.

The firm very promptly responded to my Yelp request and Fernando came to assess the problem - sump pump failure - the same day. Nelson and Frank returned Monday with necessary parts. All were polite, well spoken and friendly. They demonstrated that the replacement worked. I'll have them return for service next year.

The team at Charlie's are A#1. Had to replace my sewer line, the folks came in and took care of us in one day. It was a very cool process the way they did it. A pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Charlies Sewer & Drain for all your plumbing needs.

One of the worst things about having plumbing problems is finding the right folks to fix them. That's why it was such a relief (a godsend, really) to meet Charlie and his team. Charlie's estimate process was honest and no-nonsense. His team was courteous, professional and handled the job like total champs. I can't recommend Charlie's highly enough!

I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with this company.

I initially reached out about getting an estimate for plumbing issues flagged during a general home inspection for a house I just purchased. Lulu encouraged me to email over the inspection report, assuring me that a technician could provide a free estimate/second opinion based on the findings. I sent the report right away and followed up with a phone call the next morning to confirm the timeline. I made it clear that I needed an estimate by Saturday morning. The receptionist told me estimates typically take 24–48 hours and agreed to notify me if they couldn’t meet my Friday deadline so I could find another provider.

By late Friday afternoon, I still hadn’t heard anything. When I called again, I was told it might not be ready until Monday—despite my multiple reminders of the Saturday deadline and my earlier request for a heads-up. After pressing further, I was suddenly told that my issues (corroded pipes, a possible shower leak, etc.) weren’t even the type of work they handled—that they only do sewer and main line repairs. This was never mentioned until the very last minute. To make matters worse, when I checked Yelp and their own website, I found plenty of reviews and listed services for exactly the kind of “regular plumbing” they claimed not to do.

When I called back, Lulu doubled down, insisting it’s their policy to only provide estimates for sewer inspections with video footage—despite the fact that she personally told me to email the report for a free second opinion in the first place. Even if that were true, the lack of communication, misinformation, and outright denial of responsibility are unacceptable. I had to scramble and pay extra for a rush inspection late Friday night because they wasted my time.

Not once did anyone apologize. Instead, they were dismissive, rude, and acted like it was my fault for “misunderstanding” their policy—when in fact, I was over-communicating every step of the way.

This company has terrible communication, misleads customers about their services, and takes no accountability when they mess up. In fact, it seems they've taken their Yelp page offline to avoid me posting a negative review (good luck! I am very persistent!). I would not recommend trusting them with your business.

Erick was the rep who stick- handled the extensive work I had done over four days and he was terrific! The entire team was excellent, responsive clear and polite. We discovered some surprises along the way and Erick and owner Charlie managed to still get everything done on time and budget. I highly recommend this company. They will be my regular LA plumbers!

I had constant sewer backups at my mom’s house, and after getting several quotes (including pricey trenchless options I didn’t want), Charlie’s Sewer & Drain Rooter was the clear choice.
