Nu wave outdoor did the turf and pavers and small retaining wall in my front and backyards about two and a half years ago and they were awesome. Very competitive pricing and super knowledgeable about their products. The guys that did the work were very efficient and friendly and we still love all of it

We decided that after a few years of being here, it was time to enhance our front yard. Now I do a lot of research and I am pretty particular when it comes to how I want home improvements done. It’s a large investment and very long term for that matter. We were referred to these guys by my husband’s hair stylist, nonetheless, I am glad that she did. they came in with a competitive quote and were very professional from the beginning.

These guys are still starting out so they are a bit greener when it comes to having their own business however, their experience has been long-term from being in the industry. I am giving a pretty honest review and if there were a 4.5 star rating I would extend that. But I shall round up!

These guys have been responsive any time I had questions or concerns. Not that there were many concerns, they were always available with a reply whether it was text or email. The project was supposed to be completed in one week, but with the rain, the project actually ended up being over two weeks, almost 3 weeks. But that was not fault of their own.

When planning the details, they had very good insight and an innate eye for design. They truly measured and drew to scale when other companies just “estimated”. I appreciated their insight and recommendations. My final project is beautiful! The quality of the artificial grass is perfect. My kids love running around in it and the pavers look great! My entire neighborhood has raved and thanked us for redoing our yard as it has enhance the value of the neighborhood. I thank these guys as they provide quality and efficient work. When it was time to lay down the turf, I caught one of their workers laying down with a pair of scissors just trimming every inch to make sure it was all even! Now if that is not attention to detail, I don’t know what is! I I would have never expected any business establishments to have that type of attention to detail!

The reason for the half rating is for the cleanup process and crevices in the pavers. The sand to fill the crevices could have been filled a bit more but Not a huge issue. As for the grass, I get that artificial grass is purely plastic being cut. The grass needles ended up being all over the place and it was small needles so I guess they left it in hopes it would fly away or get buried? Not really sure. When I went to go check and move around my rocks, I found two turf nails which probably isn’t the safest having two young kids around. They did show me where the live water spout was in case I want to re-route my irrigation to the section below, however, they never covered the hole back up with the sand/dirt. And the last thing that wasn’t as positive of an experience was the portable restroom that they had on my property. I’m sure it was just a misunderstanding and timing of when the project was happening but the portable restroom was delayed in being picked up.

None of these factors would prevent me from hiring them again though! All in all, it was fine craftsmanship and quality product used. I would highly recommend them and take their recommendations! Reasonable pricing and flexibility. Great guys to work with and Saul was awesome every time he was on property.

We had driveway and walkway pavers installed by Nu Wave Outdoor and they were fairly priced, quick, and responsive (even to questions a few years after install!). Would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable contractor that stands behind their work.

This is the second project we have worked on with NuWave. This time around we had pavers, a deck, a fence, and a cable wire rail installed. Happy to report Justin and team continue to exceed expectations. They do high quality work we love the way they helped transform our backyard and make it a functional and beautiful space. From start to finish, this company has been amazing! From the moment James came to my house to give me an estimate, he came on time (unlike other companies.) He was professional, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. I felt comfortable choosing NuWave based on their reviews and my experience. The day the work started the workers showed up on time. I have outdoor security cameras and could see them show up each day on time and put in FULL days. The work was completed ahead of schedule and most of all its BEAUTIFUL!!! It was a big job removing concrete, a dirt hill, re-grading the driveway, adding retaining walls, and pavers. Do yourself a favor and your property value a favor and higher NuWave Outdoor for your home project!

Nu Wave Outdoor replaced my grass for synthetic turf on an irregular shaped surface of about 1,000 sqf. James and Justin were both knowledgeable on the topic. The products they presented were of what seems to be high quality. The turn around on the scheduling of the installation was outstanding. The installation team ran as a well oiled machine and they were able to complete the project in one day only. James and Justin also came up with some creative way to alleviate some of my concerns with our heavy trampoline on the turf. All in all, I would definitely recommend Nu Wave Outdoor.

Nu Wave Outdoor is a superior landscaping company that I highly recommend to everyone! James was professional and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We are so happy with our new workshop floors! We bought a house that had astroturf in this room and we wanted to use it as a workshop.

After months and months of not getting this project done ourselves, we hired Nu Wave Outdoor to tackle the job. They were able to schedule us quickly despite having other projects going on. They were here within days of our initial call. Justin & James were extremely professional, prompt and did a fantastic job.

After watching them set the pavers, making sure they were level and laid out perfectly in the room made us realized that this was not a job for us in the first place. If you think you are going to DIY pavers, just do yourselves a favor and call them.

One thing that really stood out for us was that they were able to complete our job in one day, they cleaned up every last bit of the area they were working in and above all else, made sure we were happy with the job. We plan to do a few more projects and these guys will be our first call!

We hired the Nu Wave team to complete our backyard. They were incredibly easy to work with. From the start they provided good suggestions and kept the project moving and on budget. They never tried to up sell just to up sell, any suggestions were things we hadn’t though of that would benefit the project and avoid future problems. I would happily work with them again and highly recommend them.

We used Nu Wave Outdoor for our front yard makeover. We added some small landscaping walls, columns and pavers. Nu Wave demolished and removed all of the old walkways and a few dying trees. They then installed new retaining walls and a paver walkway, stairs and a patio. The job was also done very quickly. We are very satisfied with the project! James and Justin are great to work with. They are very responsive and quick!
During consultation, they provided with samples and pictures to help visualize the project. Our puppy ultimately picked the turf, but we are still happy with the selection. As soon as they finish taking measurements, they provide a quote right on the spot. They even review, in detail, exactly what you will be paying for.
Post-consultation: they were great in communication all the way. We had some new ideas that we wanted in to incorporate and James and Justin were able to include it with ease. They will also work with you to help reduce cost.
After signing the contract, the project was shortly scheduled within a couple weeks. The project estimated length was two weeks, but everything was completed in six days. The crew worked diligently and even asked to work on their off day. During the project, we decided to obtain a tree from Home Depot. Justin and James picked it up for us as we didn't have the proper transportation. Did not cost us extra (just paid for the tree).
In short, excellent communication, quality work, and project was completed in more than reasonable time. Will gladly do projects with Nu Wave again in the future!

Stellar experience from start to finish!

Wow! That’s the best word to describe our experience with Nuwave. We had hemmed and hawed for awhile before deciding to replace our grass with turf as it felt like we were quitting something important. The truth is we saw so many of our friends and neighbors take the plunge with mixed results. We have a small footprint but with a new puppy, 2 kids and wanting to use the space for entertaining it was hard to maintain the grass and use it as much as we wanted. Hearing stories of bad contractors, scammers and Rolls Royce prices for the good stuff really slowed us down. Once we decided to get quotes we were still on the fence so we had a couple companies come out. So many options are out there and we went with referred teams. The lowest price quote was sketchy to say the least and most told us it would be over a month to get on the schedule if we signed up immediately.

The last guys to come in were James and Justin from nuwave. Two young local guys that I saw doing really amazing work on Instagram. They booked a consult the day after i called them, showed up on time with samples and knowledge. We talked about the space and needs and they let me pick blind a surface from the samples they towed in with them. Pet and family friendly with lots of use expected while looking the most like natural grass. While we’re chatting they’re throwing in measurements and materials into the tablet and in less time than i spent on hold or with multiple calls to other guys we had a plan, selection and great price. We booked for 3 days later but the rain delayed us for 2 more.

Install day came, the demo crew was here early prepping their equipment and they kicked off right at 8. By 4 the same day the site was getting cleaned, we had walked it with the guys and were off and running. We haven’t appreciated our yard this much since moving in. Demo, paver edging, base and install crew were fast friendly and kicking butt all day. Highly recommend these guys for anything landscape related you might be considering! Excellent Experience with Justin and James at Nu Wave!
We recently worked with Nu Wave to remove an ugly decomposed granite pathway and some unsightly ground cover and shrubs and replace it with pavers and some artificial turf. They both came and listened to our vision, had some great ideas to help us and gave us a quote for a fair price before they left. Their entire team was great to work with, you can tell that customer service is a priority for their company. The crew arrived on time and did quality work. We made a few adjustments mid-flight and they were more than accommodating to these requests. What a huge difference this made for our backyard! When you look out the window it just "pops" and really pulls together all the other work we have been doing to get our yard in shape. Still a work in progress, as always, but this small change had a huge visual impact. We would not hesitate to recommend Nu Wave for any paver or turf project!

We hired TeamG7 to help with our pool and landscape design & build project.
To provide a little background, I came into this experience as a contractor myself. Over the years, my wife and I have always completed our own home improvement projects, including flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, window replacements, and more. Because of that, we have always been very hands-on and selective when it comes to quality, workmanship, and trust. When we decided to take on a project as extensive and detailed as building our ideal outdoor living space, we knew the biggest challenge would be choosing the right team—one with the vision, values, and capability to bring it to life.
After spending several months designing a rough layout on our own, we were ready to partner with a company that could refine our ideas, contribute new ones, translate them into a professional plan, and execute the work at a high level. We chose Team G7, and having rarely hired contractors for our own home projects, we admittedly did not know exactly what to expect after signing the contract. Would they truly deliver on the vision we created together? Would the quality match the promises?

We hired TeamG7 to perform a major landscaping and backyard construction project. The initial state was a completely blank slate with no plantings, structures, fences, etc. - nothing. TeamG7 executed a jointly-designed plan that added plantings to surround and fill in the property, fencing to create privacy and provide security, a striking modern patio structure with innovative aluminum materials that houses an outside BBQ/kitchen, living/conversation space, and dining area, an expansive non-slip tile patio, a custom circular concrete firepit, a modern horizontal-cable fence, a unique angular-shaped pool (with specialized modern coping) that projects over a steep slope and has an integrated jet spa, a sun deck with high-end composite materials, a garden and fruit tree area, a winding natural landscape-tie staircase leading to a separate detached building down a slope, etc. The owner and tireless leader of TeamG7, Philip Lizarraga, kept in constant communication, collaborated on changes and ideas, patiently worked through challenges, and managed numerous subcontractors with grace, kindness, positivity, and limitless enthusiasm. The quality of work was impeccable (not always on the first try) and Philip has built a team that pays attention to detail, is respectful and considerate, and knows how to take on a challenge. G7 was originally brought into architect the backyard and the front yard and associated landscaping and hardscaping. Philip is patient and works with me throughout and we're still working on projects as I decide to get around to them LOL. But I regularly have the neighbors come by to compliment me on the Beautiful and inviting front to our home which is over 3,000 ft I believe. Even still after a couple years the yard still looks like AstroTurf perfect green and all the plants and trees are thriving! I'm so happy to come home or walk out and sit on the porch with a beautiful surrounding!

When I recently relocated to San Diego, one of the main improvements I was anxious to address was landscaping the front and back yards. Fortunately, my real estate agent immediately recommended Philip as a landscape designer she knew well and respected as the “best of the best.” She assured me that he was someone I could trust and someone who was always there when he said he would be. Having worked with other contractors in the past, I knew that was not always something I could count on.

A few weeks later, my agent introduced me to Philip. He immediately impressed me as someone who takes his job seriously and expects the came from his clients. He asked me thought-provoking questions about my “vision” for the yard and to explain to him not simply “what” I wanted but “why” I wanted it. I immediately realized that this is someone who puts thought and consideration for the lifestyle and tastes of his clients into his design. He instilled confidence in me with his years of experience and his certainty that we could create exactly the kind of space that would make my house a place that would feel more like a home.

After a few months, I decided to have Philip create some designs for the yard, but I did not think that I would be ready to move forward until I settled into the house many months later. When we met to discuss elements of the design, I found Philip to be organized, thorough, insightful, creative, a good listener, and enthusiastic and optimistic about the plans. Soon he presented two different plans for the back and front yards. After our meeting, Philip came back with an amazing third plan that somehow combined my favorite elements of both plans. I don’t know how he did it, but he understood and executed a vision I didn’t even know I had! Of course, at this point, I was completely on board with moving forward with the project and excited about the next few months. He introduced me to the plant specialist, Gary, who listened to my list of plants I liked and some I wanted to avoid, color schemes, and best water-wise choices for my coastal San Diego location. Gary was available throughout the entire project by phone.

I was fortunate to have Cesar lead the site team. At our first meeting, Philip explained that Cesar would be my daily contact on the job and that Philip himself would be visiting the site regularly and calling several times a week to see how everything was progressing. Cesar was a gem. He and his team were organized, hard-working (8-hour consecutive days), reliable, timely, tidy with the worksite, and informative about progress and expectations. And their workmanship was top-notch and detailed. Cesar and I would meet every Thursday afternoon at the same time to discuss what had been completed and plans for the upcoming week. He was about the most patient person I know, for I had endless questions, requests, lists, and clarifications that he always welcomed with enthusiasm and respect. Philip and Cesar also educated me to become a competent steward of my new yard: how to use a soil probe, monitor the irrigation, and always pause to enjoy the beauty of my new surroundings.

Philip, Cesar, his father Cata, and I met in late August for the final walk-through. Philip then explained that we would remain in contact for the months and year ahead. He made it clear that they were always within reach and would remain a support. In fact, Philip even helped me find a qualified maintenance person to take care of the weekly maintenance.

When I reflect over the past few months, I realize that though the initial project is completed, the relationships will continue for years to come, and that is a great comfort. The tone of respect, client concern, joy of executing a vision, thoroughness, and attention to detail of the company come from the top and filter down to everyone I encountered throughout the process. I take comfort in knowing that they are just a phone call away should I need their expertise and that I will continue to hear from Philip and Team G7.
