I didn’t use their business because I am simply just scoping around before I make a decision on my bathroom remodel. I asked John and his team many many questions and they were able to provide me with all the answers I needed. They did not force me or push me in regards to making the remodel happen in that moment, instead they understood where I was coming from simply looking around before making a big economical decision. I will be moving forward with them come March but I am glad that there are still people in this world who are putting the customer and quality service over money. They are also very responsive when it comes any questions you may have!!! Can’t wait to work with you John :-)

John is the ultimate businessman, honest and keeps promises on time lines. Also, he’s always positive and that’s so important when you’re under stress with the building process in general. We are listed as owner/builder on our ADU. We met John at the perfect time. He found us trades to complete the work needed when we didn’t know where to go. There is not one part of our home that we are just thrilled with. The people that he sent were experts in their trades and very friendly. Just finishes needed and we move in. If you're looking for honest contractors who have customer service in mind, this is the company to choose. I had an issue with a sagging joist in my bedroom floor which was visible from the ceiling below. I was able to cut out the ceiling on my own, take photographs of my issue, and send them over, without requiring an in person inspection. Afterwards, I received honest and sound advice as to what needed to be done to fix the joist. While the work has not yet been completed, I appreciated the quick, honest, and free advice. Even when I offered to pay, they said it would not be necessary and they were just happy to help. I strongly recommend Southstar simply based on this experience alone.

Let me start by stating how difficult it is to find a reputable contractor from the start. I was not so fortunate this time either in trying to solve a roof leak with potentially 3 financially responsible parties. Along comes John and Rizk Construction.

I had a room take the brunt of water damage via a mysterious roof leak during the 2022-2023 southern California rain storms. 4 months later Rizk construction to the rescue. Found the leak, repaired the sub floor and was able to find some beautiful re-carpet of my upstairs.

John was punctual, up front and was exceptionally professional having succinct yet exact contracts in the scope of work that was done.
