The last few years I’ve been looking for an energy efficient alternative to my old swamp cooler. I was looking mainly at HVAC units and ducted mini splits, because I didn't like the look of ductless wall units. I got bids from four or five AC companies, but couldn't decide, mainly because I knew HVACs were not as energy efficient as mini splits. So, I started looking at ductless mini splits again. I wanted a company that specialized in mini splits, especially Mitsubishi minis, because I consider those “top of the line.” In my search, a new company popped up, Elephant Energy. They’re new to Los Angeles, but have been in Boston and Colorado for many years. They had excellent reviews and I liked the positive, upbeat vibe I got from their website.

I emailed them and heard back from Alejandra. We had a video meeting and discussed my needs. I told her I didn't like the look of mini splits but I was open to them, however I didn’t really want one in my living room. She was very patient and positive and suggested using a ceiling cassette in the living room, something I hadn’t considered because I didn’t think you could mix and match the units. I was excited by this option. Alejandra suggested we move to the next step, a visit from a local rep to measure my house to figure out what size units were needed. She didn’t pressure me on this, which I appreciated. All I felt was a sincere effort on her part to help me find a solution to my problem. She set up a meeting with the local rep, Trey, very professional, young, eager, knowledgeable and a nice guy. He did a visual inspection of my house, took pictures, took measurements, noted what kind of insulation and windows I had and then created a 3D version of my house to come up with a base load calculation. From there, they sent me three bids. The prices were comparable to the HVAC companies but still higher than I’d hoped. Alejandra worked with me on that, pointing out that with an LADWP rebate, I could bring the price down to my comfort zone. She promised they would help with the rebate application and submit it for me. I took some time to think about it and again, there was no pressure from the company. Once I made the decision, I met with their local sub-contractor, Lerman HVAC, an excellent company. Ilya, Dimitri, and Anatoli installed the mini splits over the three hottest days in March and did a great job! I’m very happy with my mini splits. I was worried the outdoor condenser would be loud but my neighbors HVAC condenser is louder! And I can barely hear the indoor units!

I’m so glad I found Elephant Energy. They submitted my rebate request as promised and even gave me a little elephant plant pot as a thank you for using them! The people in this company really want to help their customers! A rare thing these days. It’s been a very, very positive experience.

Alejandra helped design a system for me that worked perfectly with my set up. She even was thoughtful enough to use a snow stand to avoid my dogs from peeing on the AC compressor. Really good design and communication. Highly recommend elephant energy

I scheduled a consult with Alejandra after our 11yo tankless water heater went out. She prepared a proposal for a heat pump water heater within an hour and had the install scheduled for the same week. Proposal has two options and included all rebates. No up selling, no bundled service plan. Just was I asked for and nothing more. Trey did a walk through the next day to explain the installation and answer any questions. Contractor showed up on time, made efficient use of the small space for a clean installation that looks good and functions well. They removed the excess gas line and gave me a new shutoff next to my dryer free of charge. Very pleased with the communication, proposal, implementation and follow up. This is a great team for anyone looking to upgrade mechanical systems and reduce their carbon footprint.

Elephant Energy was referred to me through QuitCarbon for the installation of my heat pump hot water heater, and it was a very good experience. They took care of the rebate paperwork, coordinated the electrician, plumber, and enclosure construction, and ensured everything was done properly. Excellent experience with Elephant Energy - can't recommend them highly enough. We worked with them to have a new heat pump water heater installed to replace our old gas water heater. They: gave us the clearest (and best) pricing of all the estimates we got, communicated clearly and proactively at every stage of the process, were on top of every detail around the optimal ways to design and install a heat pump system (versus other teams we spoke to who were clearly new to this) and were on top of every step of the process of applying for rebates on our behalf. It was honestly our best experience working with a contractor in 10 years of home ownership.

We used Elephant Energy to get a new heat pump water heater installed in early November. I had been wanting to do this for a loooong time and had met with two other contractors trying to get to a reasonable quote. Elephant (Alejandra, Trey and Akanksha) were on top of everything from the initial phone call to the remote inspection. I saved a LOT of money and am getting closer to my clean energy future thanks to the team. And the plumber and electrician were on time and organized. Such a relief!

He answered all my questions and was respectful but really appreciate the quick service because it’s been so hot.

This is my second time doing business with Efficient. They are on time, reliable communicate well and are professional. One service was for my mini split and the other for my house AC unit. They test everything, provide the report on the readings of what they find and make suggestions accordingly. I plan on continuing to do business with them in the future.

The Efficient Inc technicians are great. Abraham has been doing regular inspections of my property and is is always prompt, professional, and polite and very competent. He is meticulous about doing the inspections and maintenance, and promptly notified me about a related issue that he noticed while doing his inspection. He went the extra step with that, and I was able to address the issue before it became a bigger issue requiring equipment repairs.

The HVAC failed: no heat, no cooling. I called Efficient late on a Friday and they were able to schedule for the following Monday, when they diagnosed the issue. The part has been ordered and will be installed soon! Since I have a regular maintenance contract, I also received a 10% discount on the new part...much appreciated. I highly recommend this company for its well run office, and skilled technicians.

After 4 months of not being able to find a crew to fix my air handlers which suddenly stopped working, finally I found Efficient Inc. who repaired the heat pump. All is fine now, working beautifully.
