Home Services reviews in Dublin, California

Hoya plants! I have never seen so many in one place before. I stopped in on the off chance they might have some and found 60-70+ of a couple of sizes and 8+ species or variations. Wow, just wow.

I went to the nursery to purchase a gardenia and a indoor plant. Natasha was very knowledgeable and took the time to help me find a plant that was non-toxic to dogs. Great to know that there still are places that offer excellent customer service.

Most of their good reviews are from the old ownership, seems like it's gone downhill now.
Indoor house plants were a decent selection however they were all in terrible condition and at full price. Most leaves were brown and a lot of expensive plants are very overgrown and leggy. You can spend $80 and have to chop it back to the soil. -
I love this nursery. There is a huge selection of shade and sun plants, plus trees. They usually have what Im looking for - this year is was a fuscia, but they had 3 different colors to choose from!

Updating to a 5 star. After lookin at a few other area nurseries, I realize just how special this place is. The staff are always knowledgeable and helpful and the plants are healthy. I bought this red maranta and the beautiful Mexican pot I put it in over the weekend.

They have a larger variety of indoor plants than most places. I've been searching for the crinkled leaf peperomias and this was the only place I found multiple varieties recently.
The whole store is very open and airy but can get hot and dry, making lots of their plants prone to spider mites. I saw the webbing in store but really wanted the plants so into quarantine/rehab they go. Would still recommend as they have even bigger selection of items than most places. -
Helpful staff at check out counter! Went out of her to resize a box so my three little 2” potted succulent plants don’t tip over! On top of finding two rare Echeveria Rainbow plants, that made my shopping experience so much better!

I had a terrible experience at this nursery. The woman running the place was shockingly rude — not just to me, but to other customers as well. No greeting, no help, just attitude. She acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there. It’s a shame, because the plants looked decent, but honestly, the customer service ruined the entire visit. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a business before. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who expects to be treated with basic respect.

We recently purchased couple of plants from this nursery and happy with it.

Update October 2024
I was looking for black sunflower seeds, but their was none to be found. I ended up ordering Audubon (2 bags of 2 varieties) seeds from Walmart and got a really good deal.
The staff was really helpful and I was looking to transfer some succulents that have taken off in my wine barrel garden. They will help you choose the right pot, soil and are patient with questions. I only wish they would offer to plant the bowls with succulents I choose for gifts.
On the issue of CA Native Plants! They have gotten much better about stocking them as well as creating space when you first enter so you can see the variety. Just need more. Making a trip to their competitor Alden Lane in Livermore just for natives is a stretch. I would like to buy closer to home.
Thanks
Update 4-18-2023
1. Their selection of native plants is hidden in the back, and poorly stocked. I have to go to Alden Lane in Livermore for a quality selection.
When we first saw the news that they were taking over for Armstrong, we were a bit nervous. I have been checking out what native plants (Earth Day) to add to my bit of dirt, and will be taking my list with me.
2. They carry little to no Audubon anymore. Prices are better at the local ACE hardware, and coupons on back of Safeway receipts. Or, check out Lowe's they have an excellent selection!
One area we are adamant about is, feeding the birds with Audubon seed.
3. The yellow bird feeder featured in this review did not last one season. However, my husband reuses the parts. Plus, he built his own custom homes. See below. They are squirrel and raptor proof! One large, one small (this allows for cleaning & feeding)/.
The nursery has a nice selection along with houses; Hummingbird feeders; and plants to get birds into your yard.
The staff are not only super friendly, but very knowledgeable. I was looking for Blazing Star and they had a wonderful package of bulbs ready for the ground. And, they were almost all gone.
And, a good deal.
4. The bulbs did not pan out. Not one bloomed, and it was it great soil. All the native plants I purchased at Alden Lane are flourishing.
5. However, each Wednesday's is Senior Discount days, so that is a plus. And, your points add up for purchases made and you can use them anytime! So thanks.
If you have not checked them out, take a chance and spring into gardening. -
So many beautiful plants for indoors, outdoors and everything in between!

Super cute nursery with a bit of everything for gardens and plants. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Geoffrey was so helpful with finding the right sunflower seeds for my mom for Mother’s Day last year. We’ve never had such good results from seeds before! The succulent and cacti options are my favorite thing. Every time you go in they have a new variety! Well worth the stop in!

Everyone was doing Christmas presents at work so I panicked and bought everyone succulents. This place has BEAUTIFUL variety and affordable succulents. They were a hit at work.

This is a fun place for plant lovers. Plenty of succulents, trees, flowers and indoor plants. Good amount of pots and decorations as well.
Found a few Himalayan champaca trees. So expensive but I guess they are worth it. -
When we moved into our new home, we contacted Ben about designing and building a waterfall for our backyard, since he had done that for our previous home. He came out, created a design for a larger waterfall in our new backyard, and within two weeks of starting construction, we had a beautiful waterfall. We love to sit in our backyard looking at our beautiful waterfall and relaxing to the soothing sounds of the water cascading over the rocks. I highly recommend Ben and his team if you are interested in creating a waterfall for your home.

I will not take this review down your a hack. You did my waterfall and the rocks with rebar fell the next day. Had to have a real construction company do it

Wow- what an amazing paradise created in my backyard! Thank you Waterfall Guy, the addition of my tranquil waterfall has added so much peace and much needed relaxation feel for my family to enjoy. :)

Highly recommended. We have worked with Ben 5 times for design, installation, and repairs. Service and results are always impeccable.

We hired Ben and his team to finish a waterfall project we started in our backyard. Ben was very responsive, professional and his team (Jose) far exceeded our expectations. These guys are definitely artists with the water features and landscapes they create!

We wanted to install a pond in a rocky area of our backyard. Despite the terrain challenges, Ben and his team installed a gorgeous pond with a lighted waterfall exactly where and how we envisioned it! Amazing craftsmanship, knowledge and attention to detail. It's a calming and serene fixture in our yard that we enjoy every single day.
Jump forward 4 years - thanks to our rambunctous golden retrievers, we developed a leak in the pond liner. Ben and his Team didn't skip a beat. They came out to check it out and dedicated the same day to the repair which included shoring up the damage as well as draining, cleaning and revitalizing the pond. Ben has a great warranty that significantly reduced the cost of the fix.
Ben and his team are incredibly professional and invested in doing an excellent job for their clients. They are affordable and do high quality work, what more could we ask for? We highly recommend The Waterfall Guy!
