I highly recommend Trident Electric. Rob and his team provide excellent service with competitive pricing. They’re professional, prompt and highly skilled at solving electrical issues. Rob goes above and beyond in every circumstance (he even took a plunge to repair the pool lights). Thanks to Rob and his team, we have landscape lighting that looks amazing and we can now rest easy with new security lighting. They also solved the mystery of our flickering porch lights … our house isn’t haunted after all!

I’m an old lady living a mobile home park in a unit built in the early 60s. My electrical problem was confounding, to say the least. A quicker solution was not available because of the lack of cooperation from the contracted electrician for the mobile park and the resident handy man. They were very rude to your staff; however, I was very impressed with the Trident’s staff professionalism and taking the high road in response to the other “professionals.”

The problem and the behavior of the old equipment proved a difficult one to resolve. However, Blake, along with the rest of the team, worked for 4 days to get me safely back into my house, with the return of electricity, heat, and WiFi and the Internet so that I can return to my work from home as an online psychotherapist to both Americans and those in other countries all over the world.

Blake is a man of his word. He told me that his goal was to find the problem and get me back into my my “ little tin box”, as I call my mobile home, safely, and with the necessary services. He was successful and I can’t thank him and the rest of his “Dream Team”, my heroes, enough for their professionalism, courtesy, and not giving up until it was done and I was safely back in my space.

Blake was also able to offer suggestions for me to remain safe, given the age of my unit and the very old wiring. I will take him up on that in a few weeks.

I have written a similar Yelp review and will sing Trident’s praises to anyone who wants a quality, service oriented, fair and reasonably priced electrician.

The Trident Team did a fantastic job with my EV home charger installation. They were very helpful and flexible throughout, and their help with the SMUD rebate program was outstanding. Great communication, follow up and follow through. I am so glad I went with Trident and highly recommend them!

It is hard to describe the absolutely wonderful service provided by Rob, (owner)and Kris one of his electricians. The power in my family room went out on a Thursday evening. I like to patronize local businesses, so I contacted Trident Electric using the website. I was able to make an appointment for the following Tuesday. However, an office assistant contacted me to tell me that they didn't want me to be without power over the weekend, so they scheduled me for Friday afternoon at 3. I knew they were trying to squeeze me in and probably thought that it was a circuit breaker problem. Because Rob was delayed on another job he was not able to keep the appointment. He did contact me and asked if he could visit on Saturday. I was surprised and pleased by such service. Rob spent 2 hours without charge trying to determine the problem. No such luck. He then scheduled his super electrician to visit on Monday at noon. Kris spent 3 hours working the problem and discovered the issue and repaired it. I was expecting a very high bill for the amount of time needed to resolve the issue. It was very reasonable. Beyond that Kris noticed a picture of my father-in-law in his army air corps uniform. Even though I spent 5 years in the USAF and my granddaughter is currently in the USAF Kris gave me a military discount based on the picture. I really wanted Kris to move on to his next job, but he insisted that he return all the furniture, shelving, and bookcases to their original position. Rob and Kris made what could have been a very unpleasant experience into a visit in which I met two great people that I now have trust. I don't wish for any additional electrical issues. If that happens, I will confidently call Rob at Trident Electric to solve my problem. This company provides services the way it is supposed to be.

Was having breaker problems and needed to be fixed in a hurry, Rob and company were fantastic they handled everything from dealing with the permits and smud, they made sure to keep in contact and when I had questions they were quick to respond, very friendly and professional and priced at good price, always felt they were open and honest about everything they did. Second time using Trident. always extremely responsive and getting things set up timely. This time was a ceiling fan issue. Omar showed up right at the specified time i was given to expect and ended up finding it to just be a minor issue and charged as such. ***UPDATE*** 6/12/2023 - The owner emailed me and called me, ostensibly as a result of my review. We cordially discussed my concerns. As has always been the case, he was courteous and professional with me in his communications. The owner informed me that Trident Electric has ceased performing service/warranty calls on generators. He stated he was proud of his company and the work they do (including general electrical work and generator installs), but conceded that they lack the technicians to properly diagnose and perform repair service on generators, including warranty work. I made no demands of him but he offered to refund the initial service call fee and a portion of service costs for the larger gas line given that the technician used the incorrect flex line (it was 1", but the wrong class/type). Though I haven't used them for such, I suspect that Trident is an excellent company for traditional electrician services and they have great customer service. I have changed my review from 2 to 4 stars based on the (albeit belated) follow up from the owner. I still cannot recommend them for Generac generator installs solely because, in the unlikely event that the generator is faulty, they will need to refer you to another company qualified to do the work. However, I think they will serve you well for all other electrical work.

ORIGINAL REVIEW STARTS HERE (with some minor revisions)

The folks at Trident are polite and professional. They are likely good at standard electrical work. I did not use them for traditional electrical work so I can only assume based on their positive reviews that they excel at it.

I hired them to troubleshoot and possibly perform warranty repairs on a 6-month old 24kW generator at my home. (note: Trident did not install the generator originally). Based on my experience with Trident and recent developments, I cannot recommend Trident for generator work. The technician they sent, while professional and friendly, appeared by all counts to be wholly untrained on generator troubleshooting and repair. It has become evident that one of the focuses of Trident, in addition to standard electrical work, is generator installs. Generator installs require sound electrical work and some gas plumbing work. It does not require a detailed understanding of the generator itself or troubleshooting the generator other than in the context of the installation. The technician appeared to have little to no understanding of the internal function and troubleshooting of the generator. Nevertheless, I was initially charged a service call wherein the technician was unable to diagnose the issue.

I hired Trident to upgrade the gas line from 3/4 to a 1" line ($900.00) to avoid any claim by Generac that the install was noncompliant. After this work was completed, I waited several weeks for Trident to process the warranty claim and repair the generator. It was at that time that Trident informed me that they are not an authorized dealer for Generac warranty work (or possibly that they simply choose not to do that work). Generac listed them and I didn't understand how this could be so. I asked how then could they warranty their own installs given that they do install a substantial number of generators. The owner stated he didn't know and would check on that. (perhaps there are very few warranty issues with Generac and it just doesn't come up much?)

To the owner's credit, he referred me to another electrical company, Chandler Electric, who was able to do the warranty work. Chandler was amazing. I left a separate review for them.

Before leaving this feedback, I left a message for the owner to address this issue. I received no response. Trident may have good electricians, but I cannot recommend them for generator services.

SEE UPDATE AT TOP 6/12/2023

I requested a quote for installing shelves with lighting. I provided ALL specifications, in advance, based on what the builder of the shelves provided. The guy comes out, I provide additional details and answer all of his questions. Once he confirmed it could be done and gave price, I ordered shelves. The shelves arrived, so I scheduled official installation appointment. The same guy comes back, spends an hour at my house, then says it can’t be done without him increasing the price. I compared the quotes, and saw the only thing that changed was the labor cost. All the materials stayed the same.

***Trident were the cheapest. Canceling the appointment while onsite instead of just telling us what the additional cost would be, plus not knowing what to do pushed us to choosing a different company. They weren’t that much more expensive. They too provided a FREE quote. But completed the job at appointment.
