I had the same service for the past 2 1/2 years. We could never get rid of the algae (he said it was due to all the leaves falling into the pool) and we had stains on our step. Huntington came out and within minutes, got rid of the stain and started to explain the balance of our pool. I’d also asked our old service if we needed to shock it- he said he could try but it was really a battle of the debris. Mind you, we don’t have any trees but there’s a large one next door. So it’s not a ton of leaves or branches in our pool. Huntington shocked the pool that day and explained what we were trying to achieve in balance. Within two days our pool was sparkling like it has never sparkles before. So glad I switched!! Our pool is now worry free.

We’ve been using Huntington Pool Service for years for our in-ground pool. They’ve been here rain or shine and my pool has always been “party” ready. My neighbor started using them on our referral and also couldn’t be happier with the service. We also use them for repairs with our sweep and they keep our pool equipment running efficiently. Couldn’t ask for more.

I had been with another pool company for over 10 years and my pool was looking worse and worse. Algae had begun to grow and finally one day I had enough! I called the owner of Huntington Pool Service and he came over and told me how he would bring my pool back to life so that it would no longer be considered a health hazard. Based on the research I had done on this company and the interaction that I have had with them since that time, I am confident in the honesty and integrity of this company and highly recommend them to all pool owners. Darryl and his company do an amazing job at servicing our pool and equipment and prices for what they do are amazing been having their service since 2015. Highly recommend Huntington Pool Services!!! Update: Darryl has also replaced my pump and filter did an amazing job and saved me money.

I have used Huntington Pool Service for about 2 years now and it has been GREAT! Having the pool very clean is only a small piece of this service. I have had them put in a new vacuum sweep, and a new pump, both at the recommendation of the owner. He said it would keep my pool cleaner and it would cost less! The result is the pool is cleaner than it's ever been and at much less cost to me. The new variable speed pump that they installed has save me a ton on my electric bill. I have also had an occasion where I couldn't get my pool slide to work and I had 15 teenagers on the way for a birthday pool party for my daughter. I called in a panic and they came right over, within 30 minutes and fixed the problem. (I had taken the sweep out of the pool and let air in the line, which stop the pump from working. No pump, No slide.) Anyway, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Huntington Pool Service!

We have just had our pool renovated and have subsequently appointed Huntington to provide our startup and weekly service. Daryl has been very easy to communicate with and he always provides great detailed information and advice. I would recommend Huntington to anyone who requires any form of pool service.

I was using a previous pool company for the past year. Based on recommendation of my prior pool company, drained pool in April 2020. Thought this would mean I would not have issues with pool. Wrong! Dreaded algae appeared. Pool filters cleaned after 3 months and my prior person still could not control. Time to find a new pool cleaning company. Reached out to Darryl at Huntington Pools based on reviews I read. Darryl was out the next day. Immediately could see he cared and discussed concerns and he confirmed what I have is a chemical issue. Set up monthly service and he let me know that they would be out the next day to shock it but they also cleaned the filters again. It has been one day and my pool looks like it should. I have no doubts that this was the best decision I made about our pool. They also fixed an issue my pool sweep was having. My husband was very impressed with all the parts they carry on their truck. I have to say if you are having problems with your pool DO NOT HESITATE to call Huntington Pools. Truly feel our pool is in the best hands. Thank you Darryl and crew. Huntington Pools Services has taken care of my pool for the last 4 years. They always take the time to make sure my equipment is working properly and my pool is crystal clean. Their technicians are courteous and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them.

We’ve had quite a few pool guys/company’s and Huntington has been by far the BEST company. They do an amazing job. When there is something that needs to be fixed they let us know right away and take care of it right away. If I have a question or need something they are always quick to respond to text, email or phone call. I’ve recommended the company multiple times and will continue to do so.

After caring for our pool for 13 years, and spending alot of money on chemicals All Clear Pool Supply recommended, that never worked, we hired Huntington Pool Service. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about Pool Service companies, so we were a little skeptical to hire one.
It’s been 1 year now and WOW, our pool has NEVER looked better. They’re always very kind and punctual. Even our Lacy Lab enjoys their weekly visit.

We have been with Huntington Pool Service for 5 years and the service is amazing! Our pool has always looked clear and clean and have never had any issues. Darryl and his crew are professional, knowledgeable and do a great job for us.

We are very happy with the service that we receive with Huntington. The crew that comes out is very polite and professional. They work as a team and know what our pool needs. The company is on top of when filters need cleaning, when salt needs to be added, etc. Darryl and his staff are always there when you have questions. I have and will continue to refer friends and family to Huntington’s because it is easy to see what an amazing company it is with great employees.

Very please with Huntington Pool service. Had to switch pool service because my pool was not clear and the only solution I was receiving was to do a full drain and start over. Daryl came out and assessed everything, had a game plan to have the pool clear within a couple days, and presented a very reasonable offer to continue service.
I’ve talked to numerous pool service companies and I can confidently say Daryl has his team and execution well put together.
Highly recommend giving them a call if your looking for great service, professionalism, and solutions to any pool problems or monthly maintenance.

Darrell and the Team are amazing. They are highly professional and very efficient. They are consistent with the established schedule but when you call upon them for a concern to the extent of an emergency, they are ready and available. Darrell goes above and beyond to the point of working with you to ensure your pool remains enjoyable. Very cost effective and will work it out to get big expense jobs completed! Top notch, honest and qualified service. Truly a professional company, my pool has never looked better. Huntington keeps my pool and equipment maintained for optimum results. No more cloudy or green pool days our pool is clear and beautiful. Its truly nice to know this company is so conscientious and reliable. I never have a worry about the pool they have taken it completely off my hands, all we do is use and enjoy!

I will start this review by saying for years I was receiving 5 star service. I wish I would’ve written a review then because I try not to harp on the negative. However, over the last 6 months to a year we’ve had several issues. I will say, I’ve never had an issue with algae or discolored water which I appreciate. Unfortunately, a month ago our side gate was left open and our dogs ended up out front of our home. Luckily, our neighbor was quick to inform us and they made it back safely. We did call the company and was told this matter will be taken seriously and we haven’t had a problem since, but to know that my dogs could be gone forever I felt like, at minimum, it warranted a call from a manager or supervisor or owner, as we requested. There have been a few weeks where service was skipped or missed, aside from their vacation weeks (Thanksgiving and Christmas). What frustrates me about this is we were the ones that had to reach out to the company to remind them we were skipped and we were met with “Why do you think no one serviced your pool?” I understand the question but it’s a three star service response. I don’t know the technical terms but the catch part was filled with debris and quite obvious no one had been there in over a week. I was also on maternity leave and my dogs bark at the first sight of someone in our backyard. So I knew. Finally, we had requested our pump start time to be changed from 7:30pm to 8pm so we weren’t running at peak electricity hours and when we returned home around 4:30 our pump was running and the vacuum was detached from the hose and water was spraying all over. There were white plastic rings left by the poolside and a ton of leaves still at the bottom of the pool. Now in the past, they would run the pool pump after servicing the pool each week, but in the past year or so, someone just comes and pours in chemicals without running the pump. I can’t speak to what is the correct way, just to the inconsistencies. Later that day my frustration increased when I saw my 70 year old father outside getting the leaves off the bottom of the pool so it wouldn’t leave a stain. It’s not his pool or his house so he shouldn’t have to do this. I’ve called the office and been told multiple times that they will reach out to the tech and get back to me, without ever hearing a thing back. I’ve requested via email and when on the phone with the office for Darrel to give me a call so I could voice my concerns, without any luck. Ultimately, I want to continue to give them another chance because of the service I once received, but it is challenging. I don’t mind paying more for inflation and rising costs of insurance and chemicals, what I do mind paying more for is a lesser service.

Update: The man who was coming to service our pool and doing a horrible job has not been back in probably over a year and the gentleman who comes now is the best. 5 stars all the way.

Based on the way an employee of this pool service was driving recklessly and unsafe through the Walmart parking lot today, I do not recommend them!

I used this company for regular pool maintenance, but over time I experienced several issues that led me to look elsewhere. On multiple occasions, I noticed that debris from the pool was being left in my flower beds instead of being properly disposed of, which was frustrating and caused unnecessary cleanup.

More concerning was the chemical maintenance. I started to suspect the chlorine tablets weren’t being refilled, so I purchased a test kit. On two consecutive visits, chlorine levels were at zero meaning no chlorine was added at all. That’s a major issue for pool sanitation.

I did reach out to the company, and while they did send someone back out a couple of times to correct the issues, there were also times when I received no response at all. It felt like I wasn’t getting consistent or thorough service, which unfortunately made it hard to trust the maintenance being done.

This may not be every customer’s experience, but based on mine, I’d recommend double-checking the work being done if you decide to use them.

This company cleaned my pool once when I moved into my house. A start out clean to feel the company out. Darrell started out a fine professional but after texting him a concern of mine (a question about the pool vac I purchased, nothing to do with their pool service) and him saying he would come and check it all out, he ghosted me for a month and never came. And I just moved into my home so I don’t have time to send out reminders and ask a second time. I’m now looking for a pool service weekly because after a month it’s been obvious we need a weekly pool service, but this company won’t be on my list of ones to consider.

Huntington has effortlessly taken care of us, anytime we had an issue. Darrel goes the extra mile, sometimes coming later after hours just to make sure we’re taken care of! We had a valve issue & Darrel came out same day to assess and stop our issue, then returned promptly the next day to fix fully. Thank you for being consistent and taking care of us!

Zero Stars If I Could

If you are currently using Huntington Pool Service, check your security cameras. If you are thinking of hiring them, RUN.

​I have fired this company, and I am writing this to warn my Elk Grove neighbors about the scam they are running. What makes this worse is that I notified management about these issues multiple times. I gave them every chance to fix it, but nothing changed. They simply do not care.

​1. The 'GPS Tracker' Trick
For nearly a year, I couldn't figure out why my pool wasn't getting clean despite 'weekly' visits. Then I realized what they were doing. Their technicians would sit in their truck outside my house to kill time, then walk into my backyard for literally two minutes—just long enough to satisfy their GPS tracker so they could mark the job as 'complete'—and then leave. They aren't cleaning your pool; they are gaming the system to bill you.

​2. Charging for Work They Don't Do
I pay a premium for specific services, including cleaning the pool robot. They consistently ignored it. They frequently didn't even empty the pump basket. I brought this up repeatedly, yet they continued to bill me full price while ignoring my equipment.

​3. Unprofessional & Disruptive
Their staff is loud and disrespectful of personal property. I’ve had technicians block my driveway so I couldn't even park at my own home. They treat your property like a parking lot, not a client's home.

​4. The 'No Contract' Excuse
When I finally had enough and confronted them about their billing practices (charging full price for months where they take weeks off for holidays), they admitted they never gave me a contract or policies in writing. They make up the rules as they go to ensure they get paid full rates while doing half the work.

​THE BETTER ALTERNATIVE:
I have since switched to Clean Pool Pros and the difference is night and day. Ross is super professional and actually knowledgeable about pool chemistry. Unlike Huntington, Clean Pool Pros logs exactly what they do each visit. I now get a snapshot every week with the recorded pH levels and proof of service.

​There are honest, hardworking pool pros in Elk Grove. Huntington is not one of them. Save your money and go with Ross at Clean Pool Pros instead.
