Home Services reviews in Fremont, California

We recently bought our forever home, which required extensive front hardscaping and landscaping, and also some minor remodeling of the front exterior. We needed to redo our entire driveway (3 car garage), walkway, front yard, front patio, upgrade irrigation, upgrade lighting, etc. This would require removal of several water features and other hardscaping the prior owner had installed. Additionally, we wanted to update our front patio and garage doors.
We interviewed several prospective landscapers and contractors for both the remodel and landscaping jobs. Sui offered to do both, but we were skeptical. After review of several proposals from all prospective providers, including multiple digital renders from Sui, we decided to work with Sui.
Thereafter, Sui personally collaborated with us to select our materials. This included visiting numerous providers for our new pavers for the driveway/walkway/patio, stone for our retaining wall and other stone features, options for artificial grass, options for drought resistant plants, irrigation systems, lighting for our new patio/walkways/retaining wall, etc. I was very meticulous with each selection, and Sui accommodated each of my requests to visit alternative materials providers should I not be satisfied with them, which was admittedly often. Sui did not complain despite driving to several different cities to find materials in order to procure materials that met with our high standards.
Demolition of our front yard and driveway was efficient. Installation of the pavers, retaining wall, artificial grass, drought resistant plants, smart irrigation systems, and smart lighting systems etc. was also efficient. His team was polite, timely, professional, and kept a tidy work area after each day of work. Along the way, we made some adjustments to the design, and Sui was always happy to accommodate. Sui was in touch on a near-daily basis to keep us updated on progress and next steps.
The result of his work is that we now have the best-looking house on the street, with all our neighbors complementing his work, and our home. We are very satisfied and will continue to hire Sui for future landscaping work. I highly recommend him. -
I was looking for a professional landscaper to redo our backyard. I talked with nearly 10 landscapers in the area and eventually chose Sui and his team.
What I cared about the most is the draining system. I got entirely different solutions with different cost, and different design. Among them, Sui provided a detailed plan to ensure the water is not going to accumulate near the foundation wall. We discussed several times around the final solution and every time Sui was very patient and listened to my requirement, and made accommodation to the solution before it's finalized.
Pacific's eventual price is around the mid point of the estimate range I got. However quality control is also quite important as you don't want your French drain to stop working after a few years and the weed starts growing between your pavers. As told by Sui that his team is fully licensed with all the insurance available, and some showcases from their previous work, I decided to choose them in the end. Another reason was that Sui provided a very detailed estimation doc which included the exact area size requiring the work, the demolition depth, the bedrock layer depth etc. This gave me clear picture to compare their price with others. This ended up the best choice.
The team arrived everyday on time and the progress tracking was pretty satisfying. I didn't need to ask them anything but every step was done within the time range. The project was completed right on time as promised by Sui.
The workers were very professional on demolition and installing pavers. They followed the steps to installing pavers and ensured the grade meets the requirements for drainage. They installed bedrocks and weed barrier under the pavers and confirmed me with the grade of the surface until it met the requirement. They put clean drainage rocks in the French drain trench and the drain well to ensure the water drainage.
The communication was also pretty easy. Sui speaks English, Mandarin, and Spanish, which helped a lot during the project to ensure our requirement could be delivered to the individual team members. The team also had a second project manager/coordinator to ensure the communication would be done on time if someone was busy.
Definitely recommend to talk to Sui and his team if you need some landscaping work! -
We recently completed a backyard patio transformation and couldn’t be happier with the result. The design seamlessly blends clean, modern paving stones with a curved transition into an artificial turf area, creating a low-maintenance yet stylish space perfect for relaxing or entertaining.
The stonework is exceptionally well-done—precise lines, consistent joint spacing, and a layout that adds subtle visual interest without feeling busy. The materials used are clearly high-quality, and the light gray color brightens up the yard while complementing the house’s exterior.
One of our favorite features is the artificial turf section, which adds a soft contrast to the hardscape and brings a natural, lush feel without the upkeep of real grass. The gentle curve where the pavers meet the turf is a particularly elegant touch -
Sui and team did an amazing job on our front yard. He was professional and communicative from start to finish, providing support for all our questions/concerns in a timely manner.
The team moved very quickly and efficiently, completing the demolition within a few days and the whole project within 3 weeks.
The project included:
- a horseshoe paver driveway
- lawn with sprinklers
- 3 garden beds with drip irrigation
- lighting
- porcelain porch pavers
We are very pleased with the work, especially considering the reasonable price for a licensed/insured contractor. The before/after photos speak for themselves and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services. -
Sui and his team did a great job redoing our entire front and back yard. He removed all the weeds and old concrete, installed new lawns and pavers, built a retention wall, added a pergola, redid our driveway, installed fences, and irrigation system. He communicated well, stayed on schedule, and completed all the work as agreed. We’re very happy with the results and recommend Sui for landscaping projects.

This company does a TERRIBLE job! My complex looks like a dump. Ice plant/ivy growing over the curb, weeds EVERYWHERE. There are more weeds than actual foliage/shrubs. The few shrubs there are are either completely overgrown or cut down to sticks. I've seen them blow leaves into yards and into the drain in the street. Classy. That is when they actually make it to my street. I've seen vacant lots that are in better condition. Don't waste your money with this company. They don't care. This place is absolute 🗑.

Believe the other reviews!! I saw the guy in the white M-103 pick up truck run a red light on a busy intersection.
Their load wasn’t tarped and they had rocks flying everywhere on the freeway. If this is how they drive, then imagine how they handle a landscape job. -
Great work guys!
I called Jeff a few months ago and asked him to do a design for my back yard. I wanted an arbor, but in order to do that we had to redesign the patio. Jeff came up with a plan that made the best of the space we had using stamped concrete AND found a spot for my wife's pondless waterfall (which we love!). We found Jeff to be professional and likeable guy. So we had his company do the installation. We did lights, plants, lawn, basically re did the whole yard.
Jacob and Alejandro were there everyday and are both excellent workers. They didn't rush off to do some other job and keep us waiting for weeks like other contractors we've dealt with. They said they do one project at a time when we hired them and they did. They were a pleasure to work with. The entire crew seem to take pride in their work and place a high premium on customer service. I highly recommend Jefferson Landscape. Easy to work with! -
I LOVE the yard guys! Jeff, you have a great crew! Thank you Jacob and Alejandro :)

What an amazing company! They listened to my concerns and were able to create something that took care of them and looked beautiful at the same time! Would highly recommend

I had a very strange and awkward experience with this company. In my experience, they are unreliable, rude and untrustworthy, so I would strongly recommend against engaging with them. I called them to ask if they would be interested in helping finish a waterfall that was already started. Right off the bat, the owner was dismissive and condescending - telling me he is very busy and doesn't have time. He then agreed to come out and we locked on a date and time. I texted him early in the day to confirm and did not get a response. Sure enough, no one showed up for the appointment. The owner called after the time had passed and said something about his text messages getting deleted (what?). No apology, no acknowledgement of missing our appointment. He said he is sending one of his guys like it was a favor to me.
The guy came out and we discussed scope and price. We agreed to it and agreed that we would get in touch later in the week to firm it up. I called the number he gave me and the line was dead. After a few days, I got in touch with the owner via text again asking about timing only to receive a two word response "not interested". Without explaining what happened or taking the time to have a proper conversation. I can only assume the this is how they treat all of their customers, unless someone is willing to grossly overpay for their work. Maybe that's the only time they exhibit any sense of customer service. If this is how they treat you BEFORE they start a job, I can only imagine what a nightmare it must be to work with them. -
Jefferson Landscape and Design is exactly as his motto/business philosophy states: "From design to finish".
I had my entire backyard demolished and redesigned it with stamped concrete, a pondless waterfall, and a new lawn!
Jeffery Zima, the owner, was thorough, listened to my ideas of wanting a serene/peaceful & hummingbird/butterfly friendly environment and he incorporated them into his design. My entire job only took 2.5 weeks to complete; Jeffery's workers were conscientious, consistent w/ start/stop times, and kept my backyard clean; everything was orchestrated in an organized manner: from design, demolition, prepping of the soil, pouring/designing of the concrete, installation of the waterfall, sprinkler/drip and electrical lines, & planting the plants. Jeffery was prompt in his communication/follow through w/ me & his workers. Jeffrey provided a list of shrubs, trees, vines, water-friendly plants & I researched every one of them and provided feedback; he managed to choose the perfect plants for my feng-sui backyard! There's no need to shop around; just call Jefferson Landscape & Design for your "1-stop shopping" to get the job done right!!!! -
Our backyard was a wasteland of concrete and weeds. It was not pretty to look at and was barely functional. I was blown away by the transformation that Jefferson Landscape and Design gave us. Where once was bland and grey, is now a lush lawn with high and low points, lights with flowers and shrubs, and my favorite, an arbor that sits over a stamped concrete patio that overlooks the valley below our home. The end result is magical and beyond words. Thank you to everyone for a stellar job!

I wish we could give more than 5 stars!
Our backyard was plain, basic and frankly boring. It was average and we wanted something with a little more pizzazz, which is where Jefferson Landscape and Design comes in. Before even meeting in person, I spoke with Jeff over the phone and explained what we were looking for. Jeff was very excited about the possibilities and assured us that no task was too big. Jeff and his team tore out all of the old cracked concrete and replaced it with new grass, a stone walkway, new patio, a moss retaining wall and a waterfall cascading into a koi pond. To say it was a huge undertaking is an understatement, but they handled it like the consummate professionals they are. The really exciting part was coming home each night from work to see what new piece had been completed. I was really appreciative of the way that Jeff stayed in contact with us during each and every phase of the project. Thanks Guys for all of your hard work! -
Like most couples, my husband and I have watched all of those DIY, House Flipper-type shows and we thought "Oh we can easily do this. We can totally landscape our yard". WRONG!! We were oh so wrong! That's when we decided to call Jeff at Jefferson Landscape and Design and thank God we did. Not only did he swoop in and rescue our eyesore, hodge-podge of a backyard that screamed "We don't have a clue", but quite possibly saved our marriage (just kidding. LOL). Jeff listened to both my husband and myself and took into account that we both have VERY different ideas of how we wanted our yard to look and function. My husband wanted a simple and classic design, "less is more". I wanted hip and whimsical. Jeff came back with a design that was a perfect blend of classic with a bit of whimsy.
Jeff first showed us a list of plants and trees that were drought-tolerant, would thrive best in our type of soil, and provide a kaleidoscope of color. Then it came time to pick the color for our stamped concrete, this is where Jeff's expertise and patience came into play again. My husband wanted plain (picture beige). I wanted fun (picture red). Jeff offered a suggestion that was right in the middle, a color neither of us had even considered, but ended up being EXACTLY what we wanted. Brilliant!!
It's truly amazing the way Jeff designed our yard, it feels like he gave us more square footage. I'm most looking forward to when our new plants and trees bloom so we can be showered with all of the different colors and scents. Our yard is now a cohesive work of art that is functional, gorgeous to look at, and easy to maintain. The process from concept, to design, to execution was seamless. My only regret is that I didn't call Jefferson Landscape and Design sooner!
