They do have a great selection, but if you want to look and think about it, forget it, this isn't the place. These are commissioned sales people that are there to write sales orders and not answer questions.
Forget the guy's name (trying to forget the whole experience) but he came out super friend, showed us the trees we wanted, we weren't ready to buy because we wanted to make sure the size was right for the spot at our house. Ask to look at some other plants, the guy literally pointed to the area 75 feet away and left us to our own. I had another question, so I went to go find him and I found four sales guys shooting the breeze watching football on the TV. Obviously they weren't that busy, just too busy to answer questions when they don't see the sale right in front of them.
By the way, Moon Valley is not cheap.

It took 3 months to get my trees and by the times it come to planting half of it were not delivered because they do not have it and couple were wrong types.
Couple months later four trees dies and they replace one and suppose to replace the other three no response from Anthony and from the nursery supervisor which i email her
My purchase was over 5 thousands definitely do not recommend them and feel they are not honest and lie about their warranty bad communication only when they want your Bussiness they text and call once you pay they ignore you.
Stay away buy from any other nursery cheaper and more reliable

We love our four new trees. Their install crew did a fabulous job. All four men (Jay, Ramon, Damien & Vance) were polite, professional & neat. Our salesman, Rick, our salesman, also extremely helpful & professional. Soon those utility poles will be camaflagued! Thank you!

We came in to browse and get ideas for our new backyard project. There was NO pressure at all, we were shown all around the complex... Prices were a little higher than expected BUT they do deduct if you plant on your own and they have species that you cannot get anywhere else... the other positive is that all of their plants/trees are healthy and vibrant.. unlike some other less expensive nurseries...

Rick Wright was so helpful and did not pressure us at all. We felt bad that we did not hook up with him when we came back to purchase... we did not see him... but we definitely would have gone to him if we had... he is very knowledgeable and friendly.

On October 11th we had two trees planted at our home from the La Verne nursery; an Ash and Avocado. The folks that came to do the install were most professional and very quick in this install. They left no mess and made the planter bowls perfect. The customer service we have received from Seth is second to none and the large selection he showed us helped us immensely .

Put on your RUNNING shoes and RUN from this place. Make sure you know the return policy. One the gentleman said there was no return policy when I took my tree to return it. They lack customer service skills and I would never buy from moon valley ever again because of my experience. I bought a citrus tree and took it back the next morning to exchange it for another and they did not want to return it. keep in mind the tree was not damaged or anything when i returned it.

They are also expensive. They're more of a financing location then a nursery. Go to another mom and pop nursery for a fraction of the cost. Glad I pay cash for things but feel sorry for those financing with them at 11.99 percent interest. Very sad moon valley

Horrible experience. Sales and plant knowledge at time of purchase was great. Planting of our order was another story. The planters did not provide sufficient nutrients and did not till the earth enough some many plants died. When I asked one of the employees why the row of shrubs was crooked and looked like someone was drunk as the entire line was crooked. He attempted to smash the plant with his foot (stepping on it with his work boot) rather then digging it up and moving it over. Needless to say, some plants died and I called to get new plants installed. Not all plants were available, so some plants were dropped off and I was told that the other plants would be available to be installed by late November. I was in touch with our sales person Jacob as the date approached. Day of the install came and no call no show. I call the nursery and ask for Jacob, but Jacob works at another location now. I talk with another employee who makes promises of delivery of my 4 plants. Again, no follow through. THEN, I talk to the assistant general manager, Brandon who assured me that, despite my past experience, they will follow up with me and insure my plants are delivered and replaced for me. "Have you ever had the assistant general manager tell you that your plants will be delivered?" He said, for a moment, I was hopeful, However, like everyone else at Moon Valley Nursery, they are great at lip service, but no follow through. I call for Brandon, I text Brandon multiple times, but no return call or response to my text messages. I see on Yelp that the owner responds to messages. May the owner will respond to my messages and fire all of these incompetent staff that do not follow through with the customer and drag the Moon Valley Nursery name through the mud. Maybe I will get a phone call back as no other means of communication seem to work. Please, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

To an amazing hard working Team. I received a call from Ashley from MVN, telling me time to have the Pistache Red Push trimmed and fertilized. Travis Zack was sent over, did an amazing job on the Pistache Red Push Tree. The proper fertilizer was used on the tree. I asked if would trim the Orange Bush in the backyard. He told me the rate would be $200.00. I signed up for the MVP Program. He trimmed the tree so well. He laid on the ground the trimmed the Bush, Climbed in the Bush to trim it. So amazing to watch. He asked every question I had.

A big shout out to Jesus Contreras with the best customer service, driving to the the Pistache Red Push tree. He explained everything. Worked with Seth Green on the financing, So easy to work with.

Great follow up each person I worked well.

So glad we added the MVP program when we purchased our tree from Moon Valley. Ramon came out in early December to inspect our Cork Oak. There had been some strong winds in November, so he added another stake for reinforcement, reformed the mound and applied fertilizer and water. He also pruned the tree for shape and left us watering and feeding instructions. Totally worth the investment!

Anthony was our sales representative. He was very knowledgeable, informative professional, and courteous. He gave my husband and I time to discuss privately to decide on what we were going to purchase. Jesus was very courteous and professional. He assisted us in picking out our plants. Then loading and securing them onto our car. We we're very please with the level of service that we were provided. We are planning on coming back!

Rafael was my MVP service provider and did an excellent job taking care of my tree. Did a good touch up of mulch and weeding and a generous amount of product. Thanks Rafael!

We had a satisfying experience at MVN! My wife and I had been shopping for a front yard tree for quite sometime. I was more than glad that we were able to find what we were looking for at Moon Valley Nursery in La Verne. Jesus Contreras and staff made us feel welcomed the minute we walked in. They were very courteous and attentive as we explained what we were looking for. They have a vast selection of trees, fruit trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and other items. I was impressed! They were able to meet our financial budget which made it so much easier for us. Thank you Jesus for all of your help! And thank you MVN for having such great customer service!

The employees are very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Went out of their way to take me on a tour, answer my many, often random questions. Thanks to them, our church has a new tree.

Prices can’t be beat, and Josh at the La Verne office was great to work with. I look forward to working with Moon Valley again soon.

Third time this summer buying trees and bushes from Moon Valley Nurseries at Pinnacle Peak. Always a pleasure from sales (John Short) to planting (with Logan Flores and his team of skilled planters.)

We purchased a 10 year old Strawberry tree from Moon Valley Nurseries early this year. Jesus drove us around the nursery and showed us trees with the characteristics we were looking for (drought resistant and not many leaves to clean). Jesus was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. No pressure. The nursery has a very good variety of trees and different sizes. Our tree was planted by a professional team, they came in on the scheduled time, planted the tree in a very short period of time and left the area clean. The nursery provides 3 follow up checks of the tree for a year. During the first visit, an arborist came in to check the tree and provided how to care information. Unfortunately, our tree didn’t make it after six months. We went back to the nursery, no questions asked, they replaced the tree with any other tree of our choosing because it was under warranty. We chose a 10 year old Carolina Cherry tree this time. Again, the nursery team came in as scheduled and removed the old tree and put in the new tree quickly. After 3 months, arborist Ramon visited, I was not present, he texted me what watering adjustments were needed, he also left a note at my door. When I came back home, to my surprise, he trimmed and straightened the tree! The customer service, level of care and professionalism of this nursery is great!

We had a mix up on some trees and they resolved it Hassel free. Very helpful staff and the after care is excellent. I would recommend. People say they are pricey but these trees are mature and they have been taking care of them for years.

Julie is amazing, she came out to our house to help with the layout of the garden and make suggestion on placement of our trees and plants. 6 months later after one of the palm trees died she was quick to help schedule a replacement. Rafael A. was great, he helped with the install of the new tree and made sure it was replaced properly.

You name it Moon Valley Nursery has it. Fertilizer, trees, shrubs and aim to please staff. Excellent Landscape ideas and plant suggestions. This business has miles of many plants and trees, if it's not on this particular site they have it not far away. Tropical gardens, dry scapes, monster trees this place has a lot of selection. Prices are up in the pricey level but you can always go 1 gallon size just to get something in the ground.

Perhaps I didn't understand what kind of "nursery" Moon Valley is. I naively thought that when the person I spoke to on the phone said that I could get a small lemon tree planted in my yard for $500 or $600 that is what I would be presented with in person. However, Moon Valley is less a full service nursery and a bit more of a used car lot, except that they don't sell cars -- the sell beautiful plants . . . . but at whatever they can "upsell" you to ensure that they get a decent sales commission (assuming that is what the sales staff works on at this business). We left the sales office -- something no nursery should have, really -- pretty quickly after that $500 lemon tree was going to cost closer to $1000 by the time the tree was in the ground. I'd recommend the Garden View Nursery off the 605 instead. No high pressure sales tactics there, and equally beautiful -- and affordable -- plants.
