We bought a house three years ago and we couldn’t get any of the solar information that came with the house. It was upsetting, not knowing how much solar production we were making, and or if all the panels were working. One day, Michael knocked on our door and said That he could help in switching over the ownership of the system to us the new homeowners and get everything back online. He was very helpful and knowledgeable during this process were happy to have them as our solar contractor.

Underline Energy Concepts did an outstanding job on our solar. We had our pool equipment, water heater, air conditioner, solar and battery installed with this company. Jesse was always there when we had a question or concern. I highly recommend using them.

Jesse and Michael were great! They were professional, we’re able to show me how much I would save on my electric bills and did a great job installing my new solar system. They were very careful with my house and even followed up by monitoring my solar system way after the work was done. Underline Energy Concepts has done a complete upgrade for us: removed the old (and broken) tile roof, reroofed with energy efficient composite shingles, 38x Panel Solar Photovoltaic install (with individual optimizers and single inverter) and 2x Tesla Powerwall 2 whole house batteries. We also used this opportunity to upgrade from a 200A to a 400A electrical service for future use.
The system design was more complex than a straight forward system, due to the layout of the house and property, the location of the SDGE service entrance and ultimately my personal preference regarding battery and Inverter location.
Underline handled everything great: coordinated various work crews and tasks, handled all the permitting and coordination with electric company – even in the middle of 2020 pandemic.
I’m very happy with their work and the final working system. The impact on our electric bill was immediately visible from the 1st day on.
Their work crews all were polite and professional; and they worked hard even on the hottest of days. Even their stucco guy was a miracle worker!
When I was shopping around various vendors Underline was more than $10k cheaper with the overall system than the 2nd runner up (all vendors were bidding comparative systems).
The office/design/engineering/sales staff as well as the various work crews at Underline were all great to work with and I’m very happy I went with Underline.
I would definitely recommend Underline Energy Concepts to anyone interested in going solar, saving on their electricity bills or a combination of both.

I had the great pleasure of working with Sal, Chris, & Erik on upgrading my electrical panel from a 100amp to a 200amp system. Sal was very prompt and communicative via email regarding any questions I had about the process. Chris followed up and provided me with all of the necessary paperwork to get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Finally, I can't say enough positive things about my technician, Erik, who essentially spent the better half of the day with me throughout the install process. He really was delightful, did a great job, and was super communicative and respectful.High praise!

Update: we have had our solar system fully functional for more than six months now. It’s incredible the amount that we are saving each month. We have had zero problems with our system. We continue to be really happy with our choice!

Overall, Underline Energy Concepts (UEC) fulfilled my needs of completing a new roof and adding 5 additional solar panels on our 2-story house.

Right from the beginning, Eddie came to our house and educated us more about roofing material, difference in types of shingles, and options available four our specific house. We received quotes from multiple companies (4 various companies with reputable ratings on Yelp!), but UEC/Eddie was the most educational and honest from the beginning. After deciding on which project we wanted to complete, we contacted each company to let them know the final outcome and receive adjusted quotes.

Eddie crunched the numbers and was able to give us the best offer after informing him we wanted his business from his specific company, but we had to stay within a specific budget. Furthermore, he adding a few extra items at little to no charge when additional items were needed down the road.

The project started in a timely manner and tear down of the entire roof began. Honestly, I wasn't mentally prepared for the amount of wood, nails, and old tile to be discarded, but the crew cleaned up at the end of each day and used a magnet to pick up any loose screws to not damage our car tires or little kids feet.

The roofers were respectful and even brought a Port-a-Potty for the multi-day project to our house. They worked from sunrise to sunset each day. Yes, it was loud during the day, but that's what we expected. Luckily, kids were at school and wife was at work while I worked at home in case the guys needed help with any questions. But they knew exactly what to do and minimal guidance was needed on my end for the roofers.

In the end, the family loves the roof. The extra solar panels are a long term investment. We've lived in our house 10+ years and we thought it was going to be our "first home project". But with the current market and prices, this may be our forever home and we've decided to invest on upgrading parts of the house each year to make this our "forever home". I'm glad UEC was able to make the dream continue for my families home.

Jesse and his guys were clean, prompt, respectable, and got the job done. Underline was able to save me a good chunk of money and we are very happy with the solar and new HVAC. Highly recommend Underline Energy for all you solar or AC needs.

I was kept informed step by step about the timing of the various phases of the project and installation. The roof installation of the panels was very professionally done and the electrical conduit was very meticulously bent to fit tight under the eves of the house.

I was hesitant to install solar for years, but Jesse Malone and Underline Energy were nothing short of amazing. Jesse walked me through the whole process of cost, how I was going to save money and how the power company works. When it came to installation, the workers were extremely professional. I've seen the work done at the homes of my friends, and I can honestly say that Underline Energy's work was far superior. The workmanship of the install was very good. The required labeling and placarding were nice, engraved signage not a sticker. They matched all the paint, and ensured the install was done right. I had to have some upgrade done recently and the service was even better.

What made me truly impressed with Underline Energy was my recent experience with an issue I had with So Cal Edison. I was unaware that a power surge caused by Edison caused my system to crash. I could have gone an entire billing cycle without knowing my solar was not producing energy. Underline called me out of the blue and made me aware of the issue and worked to try and correct the issue. The post installation customer service has been truly remarkable. I highly recommend Underline Energy and would gladly look forward to more projects with the company should I need their services.
