Not BBB accredited? I see why. With a 4hr. window, on first appointment, no show until after window was up. Second appointment, with a 2hr. window, no call/no show. Third appointment, with a 1hr. window. no call/no show. This no way to do business. I'm DONE.

(1 1/2 hours later) Don't LIE, David. You showed up AFTER the 4hr window that we set up on the 1st visit. I went out on errands exactly at noon then I received your call while driving and we set up for the next day with a 2hr window you missed. And I had to ASK for the senior discount on the second go-round (you missed).
I communicated in test messages so I have proof of what we agreed upon. Can you read? Don't LIE.
I didn't cancel anything. I kept working WITH you. You just could not get it together. I'm DONE!

Our power went out in one of our bedrooms. I contacted Primo Electric and I explained my electrical problem. I spoke with the owner David and he gave me an explanation of the possible problem. We scheduled an appointment and his crew came out and took care of my electrical problem. I was given a thorough explanation of what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. This crew did an exceptional job explaining to me what they were doing as they were working. These guys worked well together! I was total satisfied with their work! The price was reasonable too. Primo Electric will handle all my electrical projects around my home.

David was VERY responsive to my inquiry via Yelp for a porch light fixture installation that potentially included an issue with the existing wall switch. He was able to send his technician, Gabe, out the same day and within the one-hour window he promised. Gabe was very professional, friendly and courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough. He had to go up into the attic crawlspace to see what wiring had been done years ago that was affecting the existing switch and fixture. He offered two solutions (much appreciated) and I chose to go with the simpler, straighforward approach. After a quick run to Home Depot to get a necessary part, my outdated fixture was gone and the new porch fixture was up and working. So glad I called Primo Electric instead of attempting to do this myself. I will definitely call them for any future electrical work needed.

If I could give 6 stars I would. David, Jesse, and the entire crew were amazing to work with. Starting with our estimate where they gave an honest and accurate assessment of what could be done and what needed to be done.

When our project started we wanted to add more lights to our house and they accommodated our requests each time.

What made things trickier was having to work around our family, including my 2 year old. They never let that get in the way and were so accommodating of us.

Primo is super knowledgeable, helpful, and exceeded our expectations.

    Highly recommended!

I contacted Coast Electric Co late at night on Friday, and by Saturday morning Ignacio fixed my outlets. The response time was faster than I could've asked for and he explained what he was doing as he fixed it. I will definitely use this company again!

Junior and Sebastian did an amazing job installing two new outdoor outlets and a new indoor light switch with a dimmer. They were professional, knowledgable and performed the job efficiently and cleanly. Another 5 Star Powell Electric project.

    EXCELLENT SERVICE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We welcomed Powell Electric back to the house to fix a few things on the “honey do” list we’ve been meaning to address for years now. They found and fixed the broken wire leading to the fan in our master bedroom (props to Kevin for squeezing around in our attic to find the needle in the haystack!) We’re so relieved with the heat wave coming to have a working fan again in our bedroom!

We also have been living with the annoyance of too many kitchen appliances linked to one breaker fuse so when some are used at the same time it would cause the breaker to trip. MJ figured out where the problem was occurring and fixed it with ease.

We don’t mess around when it comes to electrical needs - we always use Powell Electric because they’re honest, on time, friendly, CLEAN (all their guys wear booties and lay tarp on every surface) and they get the job done fast and efficiently. Kevin and MJ were a great team, which we highly recommend! We also love that they’re a family owned business that delivers top notch service! 👍👍

We started hearing sparking noises from our original 1960s electrical panel and were concerned it might be a fire hazard. Powell Electric was able to send someone out the same day to take a look. They confirmed our concerns and let us know the unit had actually been recalled in the 1990s and that a small electrical fire had already occurred inside the box.

They moved quickly to secure the materials and scheduled the replacement just two days later. Junior and Jesus came out and worked diligently to get everything done in one day. At one point, I was worried it might not happen, but they pulled it together and finished strong. They patched the wall where the new breaker box was installed and cleaned up the house so well it felt like they were never there. Great work at a fair, competitive price. Highly recommend.

I was not happy with my experience with Powell Electric. I hired them to inspect my property and make the necessary repairs to prepare it for rental. They provided an estimate totaling $3,200 but refused to give an itemized breakdown of labor and materials. The estimate didn’t even include any rewiring, so I have no idea how they arrived at such a high number.

I don’t trust any company that won’t provide an itemized estimate. Transparency should be standard. Because of this, I decided to get another opinion. I ended up having the same work completed by a different electrician for $800.

I can’t believe Powell Electric was going to charge nearly four times as much. While many reviews say they do great work—and that may be true—in my opinion they are seriously overcharging. Most customers probably don’t know any better, but I don’t want others to be taken advantage of.

Yes, I lost $99 just to have them come out and look at the job, but in the end I saved $2,400 by getting another quote and going elsewhere. That alone speaks volumes.

Sorry, Powell Electric, but I’m very unhappy with the lack of transparency. Asking for a breakdown of labor and materials is not unreasonable—it’s usually standard practice for an honest service company.

Final advice: Don’t throw your money away. If you need electrical work done, always get a second or even third opinion/quotation before making a final decision.

Great experience from start to finish. Easy to connect. They kept me posted on arrival time. The electrician was efficient and friendly. He got the job done and upgraded an old outdoor outlet. I would recommend Powell Electric 💡

Ari was very knowledgeable with our estimate. He provided us with options to update our older home and was very thorough. We feel very confident about working with Powell Electric.

FYI their rate is about $500/hr. Check their Yelp reviews. Something I should have done before calling them.

When bidding the job they mislead me (I believe intentionally) into thinking it would be far more complex and time intensive than it actual turned out to be. They said it always requires 2 electricians and can take 6+ hours. They ended up sending 1 guy and he easily finished in about 3 (to his credit he did a very good job and was very friendly)

I understand needing to pad a flat bid but to do it by 400% is wild. I spoke with the owner afterwards and he apologized that I was misled but left it there. No discount, future credit, nothing.

Shame on me for not getting multiple bids but with FT jobs and a newborn at home plus a job we needed to get done right away (I had recently noticed our old exhaust fan was faulty and I was worried because I’ve had one in the past that caught fire.) that is easier said than done.

I'm not terribly pleased with Powell Electric, and also not pleased that Mike Diamond subs out their electrical service in their area to Powell.

On 11/18, Powell came out to troubleshoot a group of lights that went out, and quoted $9,990 and $15,900 to replace the entire system (lower quote: "eliminate existing dimming system controlling main office ceiling fixtures and replace with a new hardwire wall switches system controlling office ceiling lighting; mount new switches at existing location" / higher quote: "replace existing motion sensor system controlling main office ceiling lighting; replace ceiling sensors wall dimming control system in relays").

I called other companies for additional troubleshooting, and quotes for system replacement if needed. The second company's electrician (Daniel from Carter Services) said it was potentially just the dimmer power pack that was a problem, and referred me to a third company that worked with Title 24-compliant light systems.

The electrician from the third company (Matt from Barden Electric) came out, switched the group of panels to the second, still-functioning dimmer power pack, and made arrangements to come back with a replacement power pack. 30 minutes to get the lights back on, the replacement of the power pack will not take long, and the total cost for the two visits and the replacement power pack will be less than $650.

If a replacement for the entire system was actually needed, then I would have comparative quotes and different review. But the resolution to our problem did not require replacing the entire system. To their credit, the electrician showed up within the appointment window, their communication was good, and the charge for the initial service call was fair ($199, waived if we went with them for the repair work). Three stars for that. I'm just glad I called another electrician.

An all-around satisfying experience from the initial phone call to the departing technician, Powell is a class act. They arrived on time, evaluated my needs and took care of our household issue at hand.
And, their pricing was very reasonable. Look no further!
