My bath tub faucet (hot water) has been hanging on by a thread for almost a year. About a year ago, my bathtub hot water faucet became difficult to use. I’ve been using it as delicately as possible, knowing it would need work soon. Somehow I have made it to August 2021 and last week the faucet finally bit the dust - making it almost impossible to turn it off. A friend of mine had just gotten plumbing work done and had a great experience, so I got their info & sent a text.

Shortly after my initial contact, I was able to arrange for an appointment a few days later. I also mentioned how nervous I was to have someone in my home, as I cannot yet get vaccinated, and am high risk for a difficult time handling Covid, should I get it. They assured me they are fully vaccinated, wear masks, shoe covers and also gloves.

Today Eddie arrived on time, and was ready to tackle the job, while also staying mindful of my concerns re: covid. They were efficient, kind, and made sure to explain what was happening as the diagnosis and testing unfolded. Eddie quickly determined what needed to happen and began the search for the necessary part. It just worked out that Eddie found the part, and was able to come back and complete the job in a short timeframe.

I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful Eddie is. Eddie was also delighted to meet my hound, and ensured me they’re very pet-friendly, which is lovely. Eddie tackled my job with intention and mindfulness, while also educating me, searching and finding a tricky part, and getting my faucet better than it ever was in the past. I fully intent to beg Eddie to work for me for any plumbing jobs I need, because you just don’t find gems like him often! If you’re able to get onto Eddie’s schedule then you’re a very lucky one indeed!

Our water heater broke and leaked all over our basement. We called Sal and I am so glad we did! Whoever installed our last water heater botched the job. Sal said there were pieces missing, the wrong sized pipe was installed etc. He installed the new water heater, changed out the wrong sized pipe and he also added a sediment catch below the water heater, a drain line in case it ever leaks again, AND a carbon monoxide detector since there wasn't already one in the windowless basement. We had gotten a bid from another company for the exact same rate, but they did not offer to do even half of what Sal did. He will definitely be our go to plumber from now on :)

I called Thumbs Up Plumbers Wednesday afternoon with a clogged drain. They schedule me for Friday morning. Eddie diagnosed the issue. He also discussed how he intended to clear the drain, including a 15-minute test running water through the system to ensure all was resolved once the drain was cleared. Texted a few different plumbers based on Nextdoor Favorites. Sal was the second to respond and asked good, specific questions. Requested pics and provided a quote. We made a date for one of his crew to do the repairs. Was an time with exact replacement parts and got the job done. Will look no more, these folks are great!

I needed help connecting a portable washing machine to my sink. I called a few plumbers, and of the few I called, Sal was the down to earth and approachable. He was also very honest and up front. He worked with me to see if it was a job he could take, and while he ultimately didn't, the experience was excellent and I would highly recommend working with him.

I brought on Sal to help with the sewer lateral compliance on my home. Sal's initial estimate was very competitive compared to two other bids I received, and in the end he got it done for even less thanks to the work being not as involved as originally thought. He passed along the savings to me ($2K). That is integrity and on top of that he was super responsive and coordinated with the city and EMBUD on the inspections and certificate. A+++ all the way on Thumbs Up Rooter. Will call them again anytime I need plumbing or sewer work.

Sal and Edgar rough plumbed a whole new bathroom in my garage, as well as installed a tub in our main bathroom. Clean and organized work. On time and good communication. Definitely recommend.

Hands down the best plumbers we've worked with in the East Bay. Creative, responsive, respectful and so easy to work with. We had a sewer line collapse under a concrete deck and Sal and his team were the only ones to come up with a solution--not only to solve it, but also to make it even better without trenching our entire yard. Pricing was very fair and reasonable and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Big thank you to the guys at thumbs up plumbing!!! I work a lot and am very grateful to be able to get my quote/appointment over the phone. Other plumbers insisted on seeing it in person but with thumbs up plumbing I sent a picture and answered a few questions and that was that. I was looking for someone to fix a diverter for three handle shower, water was not flowing properly.

The plumber Eddie was very chill and down to earth, I have a lot going on at my house (dogs, cats, people coming and going). I forgot to tell my upstairs neighbors we had to shut the water off and he offered to tell them for me 😆 though it ended up not being an issue because he finished the job in a bit over an hour. My shower is now working! And also the drain in the tub that was draining slowly is working better too, not sure why (a different company told me 400 for the drain !) but I'm not complaining.

Sal, you’re my hero! Thumbs Up saved my laundry room and house from serious serious flooding. Friday around 5:30 PM, the water line to my water heater just exploded, like out of a movie, water spraying everywhere, ceiling, walls, floors, you name it. I couldnt turn the water off because the shut off valve was rusted open so I resorted to running buckets to the sink when I called Thumbs Up. Sal showed up in 15 minutes, parts in hand, stopped the leak, figured out where it was coming from, and installed all new parts, including a shut-off valve that actually works. Tonight could have been so bad, but it wasn't. THANK YOU!! 🙌

Sal came to my house for a free estimate, assessed the situation, and gave me a fair price for the job. He handled all the permits with the City of Oakland and EBMUD. On the day of the job his crew arrived in the morning with all the equipment and parts they needed to complete the job. They were professional, efficient and got the job done in one day. When the EBMUD inspector came to inspect the job, he said that he knew if Thumbs did the job, it would be done right and would have no trouble passing the inspection.
