Not only did they wanted to charge $75 just to inspect the system, but their contractor was completely booked for a month. We have 4 kids, so that was not an option. I called Shafer Plumbing, who came the next day and inspected our water heater for free and when it had to be replaced, they replaced it in a couple of days (mostly because I returned their call late in the day). I highly recommend their service. We have used and trusted their service for more than a decade over several properties and not only are they highly competent, they are quick to respond and their prices are very reasonable.

We've used Shafer for about 3 years after they did a great job putting in a new hot water heater for our home. Our previous plumber had just retired and I was thrilled when I found out Shafer is a complete service plumbing company. No matter the job they work with you to get the right technician to the house as quickly as possible. This week Taylor arrived right on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, did the outside part of the job first and then came in the house (used booties without being asked), finished quickly and left the place spotless. Plus he's the nicest guy and clearly knows his stuff. I would recommend Shafer to anyone.

DIYer handing it off to the pros… I had a tricky new toilet install as the existing water valve now blocked the new toilet placement. I called Shafer to get a quote to modify the valve to accommodate the toilet. They quoted a very reasonable price, did not try to up-sell me on anything and in fact the tech performed a newly discovered needed repair and no additional cost. I was very appreciative.
