Travis (Crew Leader) and his team were professional, quick, and friendly throughout my entire installation. When looking for landscaping companies, this was the first one I came across and the first bid I got. Choosing this company was easy, their pricing is fair and they helped make suggestions for my project that actually helped me save money and still met my needs. I truly appreciate everything from JNR Home Improvements and I plan on using them again for another project.

JNR Home Improvements did an amazing job on our new home! We LOVE our new patio cover, RV parking and court yard!! Everyone we encountered in this company was professional, took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted and they got the job done quickly. They did an absolutely wonderful job. My husband and I are very pleased with our new patio and lights. They have made our home look brand new and we love it.

JNR completed my yard project back in November so this review is based on the work they completed then and the follow up on the correspondence I've been trying to get for the plants to be replaced now.

First, I want to say the staff and everyone I had the opportunity to work with throughout the process of my design and install was kind and helpful. They charge high for the work they do, so be prepared to pay a premium price. But, for insured labor, licensed professionals and other things like plant warranties it's worth it...if you can get them to actually follow through on their selling points.

JNR planted all of my landscaping plants, 13 in total, 3 trees and 10 plants just two days before weather temperatures dipped below freezing. I was a little shocked to learn this was their installation plan so I emailed the front desk to confirm and say, (Summed up) "Hey, this seems like a bad idea...can I get a copy of the plant warranty because it's going to be below freezing for a few of the days following my install?" The response was very thorough, (summed up) "We hear your concerns, here's a copy of the policy." Well, it was very clear a week later that at least 5 of the 10 had died with the other five on their last legs. I'm well within my plant warranty time so, I emailed again to inform them. They asked for pictures. I sent pictures. They said they thought the plants had went dormant and asked me to wait until Spring. I assured them they were dead but said "okay."

It's Spring. I emailed again and sent the pictures of the now very, very dead plants and also the other ones that are not dead but frankly, might as well be because they're not living their best lives on a single part that didn't die. In my email I expressed my disappointment in the work and said I wouldn't need them to give me a quote for a few more plants (asked for in December, never received) because honestly, this type of follow up on work is just not what I'd expect to pay a premium for twice.

To date: Nothing. No follow up email, no phone call, no response, no correspondence, no nothing. Over a two week period three emails have been sent requesting some information on how and when this is going to be fixed and not a single response.

I'm sad to say this but it's much like another reviewer noted, they're great right up until they get paid.

Travis and his crew did an outstanding job! We put in curbing and artificial turf in our backyard, and it was done in a professional and timely manner. The JNR crew showed up on time every day, did the work they said they would do, cleaned up after themselves, and gave me daily updates at the end of the day. Travis was easy to talk to and answered any questions we had.
The office staff at JNR also deserve a hand. They were friendly, flexible, responded quickly to texts and emails, and scheduled us to get our project completed before an important outdoor event we hosted.
The backyard looks beautiful, and has made a huge portion of our yard more usable. I've already recommended them to a friend, and would highly recommend them to others.

When you find a vendor who does quality work, friendly and reliable, you tend to use them over and over again. This is JNR Home Improvements. Spanning over the last 9 years, we used JNR to beautify our hardscape and outdoor living space 5 times.

5th (2025) - Side gate & refresh pavers and grout
Our side gate was made of wood and framed in wrought iron. Over the years and many refresh painting later, the wood is all worn and the iron frame is rusty. JNR replaced the gate with a beautiful steel gate with a wrought iron frame.

We recently had a kitchen remodel where the framers and plumbers need to pull up some of the pavers installed previous by JNR. I requested that JNR placed the uplifted pavers into its correct position and regrout that area. To my surprise, not only did Lalo and his team perform the requested task, they took pride in their original work and re-groomed the pavers and re-grouted. If I took a picture of that area and compare it with when they originally installed the pavers and now, they look pretty identical.

4th (2022) - Driveway
We owned our house for 29 years bought from the developers. Sad to say over the years of earthquake and earth settling, our driveway had far to may uplifted sections and cracks. JNR put an end to that when they redid our driveway. They reinforced the driveway by placing rebar as part of the foundation (surprisingly, the builders did not do that). Since we have sprinklers and valves on opposite sides of our driveway, they replaced the original pipe and laid a new pipe (dug deeper), so if ever the pipe need to be repaired, instead of breaking the concrete driveway, they just need to attach to the lower pipe. Genius! BTW, the driveway is beautiful, 6 years later, not a crack can be found.

3rd (2020) - Trash bin cutout
We have 3 trash bins, that were just inside our side gate. Anyone going into our backyard would have to sidestep these bins. JNR was able to remove part of our backyard retaining wall and replace it with our new trash cutout area. Lalo and his team was very knowledgeable on how to break down the old wall to not compromise the strength and structure of the remaining retaining wall. The result is a great trash cutout area loved by our neighbors.

2nd (2017) - Patio cover & pavers
I love my backyard! Before this job began, JNR and I had weekly status calls so to touch base on how everything was progressing. JNR worked with us to get our install plan through our HOA Architectural committee. They had to make many modifications to our install plans before we finally got all the approvals. JNR was great and understanding during this time.
Once the project started, they worked very diligently. Lalo and his team performed the paver work. They answered all my questions very courteously and thoroughly, no matter the question. The area that the paved was an irregular shape. It also hugged our putting green. They were very meticulous in cutting each of the pavers, so it would fit within the designed pattern. At times, I would watch the progress of the job. It was like watching an artist paint a masterpiece. They knew what they were doing and cared about the final outcome. You could tell that they took pride in their work.
The work on the patio cover was done very professionally and quickly. Day 1...demolish existing patio cover. Day 2, once the materials arrived...put up the new patio cover. It was like I blinked and voila a new patio cover.
I know that a picture says a thousand words, so I would like to share parts of my backyard.

1st (2016) - Putty green

JNR installed a patio cover for me. Very professional and great quality of work. Paris, Many and Henry were fantastic. Very nice and helpful with any questions we had. The office kept us informed all through the process. Would definitely recommend.

After living with just a dirt rectangle for three years, I am beyond happy with the improvement. JNR made are back yard a true back yard that my whole family can enjoy. Crew leader Travis Loeffler and his team did an amazing job.

The crew that installed my patio cover did a great job exactly as promised. Love the look of the faux wood aluminum. Will hold up much better in the desert climate than my previous 3 wooden ones.

I can't say enough good things about JNR! I needed to put in a patio cover to cover my van and also a DG driveway. I looked online and JNR popped up often as a highly recommended company. My initially interactions were really good, however I lost contact with the person at the company that originally was helping me. I was pretty upset because I liked the proposal and actually gave JNR a 1 star yelp rating. Now most companies would not care for a single person and I thought JNR was no different. But Keith at JNR was outstanding and reached out to me by phone not only to get my project restarted, but to get it proceeding on a rapid trajectory. Ever interaction from this point was outstanding - JNR sent a fantastic person to measure the property and draw up plans, I was provided with detailed designs of the construction, and the cost was extremely fair and was below anyone else I contacted in the antelope valley. Once I approved the plans, JNR provided me with weekly updates - at no point did I feel left out of the loop. The crew that was sent over to put in my patio cover (Paris and Henry) were real professionals - they came on time each day, patiently put up with my questions, and created a masterpiece. The crew that was also sent to put in the DG did it quickly and incorporated my last minute tweaks to make sure it performed well as a driveway for my van.

In sum, I sure glad Keith reached out to me when he sensed a problem. No company is perfect, but what a company does when they make a mistake shows a lot about their values and work ethic. JNR is a top notch company and corrected their mistake many times over to get me the patio cover and front landscaping that I imagined!

Had a great experience with JNR. Admin staff was responsive, friendly, and informative. We had a good in person talk about options as well as a zoom meeting. The wait for materials was long but understandable considering current state of the world. JNR checked in regularly with any updates they had. Paris, Many, and Henry on the installation team were great. They were on time and worked clean. Pergola looks great and was finished quickly. Paver cuts look sharp. Guys were friendly to interact with and hustled all day. Will recommend JNR.
