Their after install service is terrible. I’ve been without AC for 1 month now and they always promise they’ll fix it in the next few days. And then never call back.

And their hours are till 4pm (3pm on Friday)! Usually closed by the time I’m able to call them.

They installed a brand new AC 1.5 years ago and it broke down just when summer started.

We’re stuck with this company because they are the installers for Costco in our area. Avoid them if you can.

I rarely write reviews, but I have had such an incredibly difficult time with this company that I feel compelled to let others know. Contra Costa Heating and Air was contracted by Costco when I ordered my mini-split system. The initial contact and installation happened fairly quickly, although I was told to pay in FULL prior to any work being done (thought that was illegal in CA). The installation team worked very hard but kept on losing team members every day, causing the job to take much longer than anticipated. I'm only giving a 2nd star due to the hard work of the remaining installers.
Getting a permit for my home took just shy of 11 months! I called Contra Costa countless times and almost never got a call back...their communication skills are beyond lacking. That permit was required before any rebates could be applied for.
Contra Costa told me that they would handle everything around the rebates and that I would have to do nothing. They took pictures and told me they'd get back (which NEVER happened). They then started to tell me that it wasn't their job to help with the rebates, despite every single person I spoke to saying that they guaranteed they would take care of it. Around the 10-month mark, they even asked me to fill out some basic rebate paperwork and back date it for them....and STILL nothing happened. Now I've got a different person telling me that it's not even their job to help with the rebate despite this being a "professional" installation. Of course, this person he said he'd take a look and get back. They have been dodging my calls ever since (14 months total and growing).
Not only do I find their conduct to be entirely unprofessional (I mean how are you still in business?), but I also blame Costco for using them in the first place. Complaints to Costco did not seem to move the needle either.
The rebates that I would've been able to apply for a year ago have long since expired so I am now trying to see what I can do on my own, no thanks to Contra Costa Heating.

This entire experience is, without a doubt, the absolute worst that I have ever had with any company. But I blame that entirely on the office staff & management...the actual service techs at least know what they are doing. But even they admit that they get almost no information about a job from the office before they get there. But that's just my experience. Feel free to roll the dice if you don't care about getting a permit or rebates in a timely manner without having to call incessantly.

Terrible drivers work here. cut me off and almost side swiped my truck. His work van is full of dents and scratches which reflect the driving skills this incompetent guy has

Contra Costa Heating and Air Conditioning is a company you can trust. They were professional, punctual, and did exactly what they promised.

We had a behemoth of a heater from the 1950s and the thought of replacing felt like the biggest chore. Contra Costa came in and gave us a cleaner and more efficient system within a few hours. They got rid of the old beast and cleaned up behind themselves. Extremely professional, hard working and friendly crew. Special shout-out to Tony K who helped us out a ton. They also had great pricing options. I’ll choose them every time!! Thank you.

Our furnace stopped working during a cold week and CCHA responded quickly. They fixed the issue the same day and left no mess behind.

Great winter service experience. They inspected our heating system, made a small repair, and ensured everything was safe before leaving. They did the 18 point safety check. Used a carbon monoxide and gas leak machine.

Raji one of their Heating Consultants came by our house today to provide an estimate for Installing a Heatpump. He was extremely prepared, had researched the house upfront with rough understanding of what we already had in place before showing up. He reviewed our existing Gas Furnace, its age, our electrical and desired location for a potential new install.

Unlike other sales folks I who have visited, he had a balanced view, not aggressively trying to sell us the most expensive option they could offer, he provided multiple options, listed the pros and cons, offering a pragmatic view towards which accounted for our existing infrastructure and budget. A helpful neighbor with your best in mind. Looking forward to work more with him and his team!

Had the best experience with CCH&AC! From start to finish they were extremely communicative, friendly and accommodating to all my requests regarding schedule. And on the day of install, it was the same. Not only did I have great commmunication with the office personnel but it was kept going with the qualified men who came out to perform the work. They kept me gave me an explanation of what they were doing throughout the whole process and never once did I question their skill. I'm sure they have lots of great installers, but I think I lucked out with the 2 most wonderful guys ever, Oscan and Jairo! They ran into a couple of obstacles and never got frustrated. On the contrary, they went into "let's-figure-this-out" mode and in no time they were on their way out the door after completing a perfect installation in under the anticipated amount of time anticipated to do the job - AND - with leaving not a trace of debris behind! I would HIGHLY recommend this company for many reasons, but since communication, quality-of-service, and cost are on the top of my list, I'd have to say you just can't go wrong with these guys! I'm very satisfied and admittedly I'm a "teency bit" hard to please...lol
